The 2013 PUK Awards Round Two UPDATE 2X

Round One is in the books and Round Two of the 2013 PUK Awards is now open for your voting pleasure at iOwnTheWorld.

The nominees for Round Two are yours truly (Political Clown Parade), iOwnTheWorld, Maksim, World News Bureau, The Peoples Cube, I’m 41 and Capitalist Preservation (last year’s grand winner).

I could pretend to be humble…I could, but I won’t.  I’d love it if you could hop on over to iOwnTheWorld and vote like crazy for yours truly.  I’m No. 3.  Vote for No.3 on your program; No.1 in your heart.  (If I'm not No.1 in your heart, don't tell me.  It would crush me.)

Voting will last until 6 PM ET Sunday, December 29th.

I want to thank my good friend, Diogenes’ Middle Finger for the blog post informing her readers about this contest for conservative agitprop creators.

Remember, vote for me, No. 3.

UPDATE 12-30-2013 8:34 AM:  The results are in.  Your votes helped catapult my entry into the semi-final round.  The Cage Matches will begin today and the head-to-head final is coming this Friday, January 3, 2014.

These are the Top 8 that will be going head-to-head in the Cage Matches:  B. Keyser, The Looking Spoon (with 2 entries), Diogenes, iOwnTheWorld, Maksim, The Peoples Cube and yours truly, Political Clown Parade.

I hope I can count on you to vote for me because I’m cuter than a fluffy puppy and I don’t sit around in a red plaid onesie sipping hot chocolate spouting socialist horse manure talking points.

As soon as BigFurHat posts the first Cage Match, I’ll put up the link so you can start voting.

UPDATE 12-30-2013 8:31 PM:  It took a while, but BigFurHat finally posted the first Cage Match I mentioned in the previous update.

The Looking Spoon and Peoples Cube are duking it out.  The match is open until 6 PM New Years Eve.  Hop on over here to give your thumbs up for your fave.

BigFurHat informs voters that the top 4 make it through.  Please go over to iOwnTheWorld and cast your votes for your faves.  They’re all great, but if I can nudge you gently here, I’d like you to give your thumbs up to three of my very talented friends:  Diogenes, Earl of Taint and The Looking Spoon.

Voting is open for this round through tomorrow, Saturday, December 28th at 8:00 PM.

Jump on over there and let these hard-working choppers feel the love.

And The Winner Is…

Not me.  Clarice Feldman, who judged the 2012 PUK Awards contest, had a difficult task before her.

There were 28 nominated graphics that had to be pared down to 14 finalists.  iOwnTheWorld held cage matches to determine which entries would make the final cut.

I am genuinely sad that two of my friends, Diogenes’ Middle Finger and the prolific The Looking Spoon were not part of the finals.  The ultimate winner was my friend, Will Profitt of Capitalist Preservation.

The competition was tough from beginning to end.  I want to thank everyone who cast a vote for my work.  I want Ms. Feldman to know how honored I am that she chose my work to be among the Top Ten.

I am giddy with joy because when you do things from your heart you feel a river moving in you.

“To get the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with.” ― Mark Twain

I am dividing my joy with the other nine Ms. Feldman selected.

I’m Feeling More Charged Than A Visa Card At Christmas Time

This is it.  For the last two weeks I’ve updated everyone on the cage matches over at iOwnTheWorld.  The cage match solution became necessary when so many submissions were vying for the coveted PUK Award.

There were 28 nominations and the cage matches whittled the number down to 14 finalists who had created the best conservative agitprop for 2012.

You can view the 14 finalists here

Commenter joe6pak said, “From top to bottom, there is some great work there.”  And phil.arbeit wrote, “I think the overall level of the competition’s entries improve every year. Our artists are getting better and better! These are all winners already. To all the artists: Thanks for doing what you do for US!”

Two friends are finalists:  The Looking Spoon has three entries in the finals and Capitalist Preservation has one.  I am fortunate to have two entries in the Final 14.

About one of my entries, Norman Einstein posted this comment, “Remember when there was REAL hope and change.  Hands down.”

Referring to my other offering, MaryfromMarin wrote, “I’ll bet BHO would vote for 'Everything is going according to plan'. And would probably hang it in the private bathroom adjacent to the Oval Office.”

This year’s judge will be writer Clarice Feldman. Clarice is the most fitting judge we have ever had, because it is Clarice that introduced us to Peter Bocking, the namesake of the PUK awards. Puk was Peter’s online nickname, which was shortened from PeterUK. We will always miss you and will always try to live up to your most often stated refrain—“Make the bastards live by their beliefs.”

Rosalind J, commenting on the tough job the judge faces wrote, “I don’t envy her the job of deciding which of these should be declared the best. What are the odds of a three-way tie? Good luck Clarice!"

The winner will be announced Monday night at 8PM ET.

How cool would it be for there to actually be a three-way tie:  My two friends and me?  The anticipation is exciting.

Honestly, I wish the very best of luck to everyone.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #13

We’re nearing the end of the cage matches sponsored by iOwnTheWorld to determine the website/artist that created the best conservative agitprop for the year in an effort to present the winner with the coveted PUK Award.

I’d like to congratulate my friend Will Profitt of Capitalist Preservation who won yesterday’s Cage Match No. 12.

Cage Match No. 13 pits my good friend The Looking Spoon against Wolverine of iOwnTheWorldThe Looking Spoon consistently creating some of the most amazing work on the Intertoobs and today’s cage match is a powerful example of that talent.

I hope you will take a moment to cast your vote for your favorite graphic by clicking on this link and show your support for TLS.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now the number of contestants has been whittled down to 2.

Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #12

Cage Match No. 11 came and went without much fanfare here.  That’s because iOwnTheWorld, the site that is hosting the contest to determine which website has created the best agitprop for 2012, took this past Sunday off and resumed the contest on Monday.

Clearly, I was preoccupied with the 2013 BCS National Championship Game between my beloved Alabama Crimson Tide and those beaten and battered little leprechauns from South Bend.

But I digress.  Cage Match No. 11 saw iOwnTheWorld pitted against The People’s Cube.  The Cube won hands down.

The current cage match, No. 12, features my friend, Will Profitt of Capitalist Preservation with a commanding lead over opponent Terrell Aftermath, 52-19.  You go, Will.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now the number of contestants has been whittled down to 4.

Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

Please go over to iOwnTheWorldgo the comments section and click the thumbs up icon to vote for your favorite image.

Have a great day and don’t forget to vote.

NOTE:  With just four finalists to go, I have high hopes that another graphic of mine will make into one or both of the two remaining cage matches.  If that’s the case, I sure hope you’ll do me a solid and cast your vote for me.

Meanwhile, have a great day and thanks for stopping by.  Your readership means so much to me.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #10

Maksim wins again.  Cage Match No. 9 wasn’t even close.

For those of you who may not have been following the action, iOwnTheWorld is holding “cage matches” to determine which website has created the best conservative agitprop for the year in an effort to present the winner with the coveted PUK Award.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now the number of contestants have been whittled down to 8.

Cage Match No. 10 features the titan Maksim and the lowly little Political Clown Parade and as of 12:12AM Saturday morning I’m getting slaughtered.  Honestly, how's a little 'shop of Crazy Uncle Joe vs Paul Ryan gonna win against a Sandra Fluke 'shop?

Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

Please go over to iOwnTheWorldgo the comments section and click the thumbs up icon to vote for the BOTTOM IMAGE, which is mine.

Have a great day and don’t forget to vote.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #9

Wow, I thought for sure that the Alfred E. Neuman as Barack Obama graphic would have been chosen the winner in iOwnTheWorld’s Cage Match No. 8, but it lost by nearly 3 to 1 to Maksim’s entry.  I even created a graphic using that image for a caption contest and submitted it as an entry.

For those of you who may not have been following the action, iOwnTheWorld is holding “cage matches” to determine which website has created the best conservative agitprop for the year in an effort to present the winner with the coveted PUK Award.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now the contestants have been whittled down to 10.

Cage Match No. 9 is going on right now through 8PM ET tomorrow.  It features another offering by Maksim (Surrender Your Dignity) and one from iOwnTheWorld (You gotta open my bra handsome...).  Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

Please go over to iOwnTheWorldgo the comments section and click the thumbs up icon to vote for your favorite image.

There are still five more cage matches to go and possibly another chance for one my entries to make to it into one or more of them, so stay tuned right here for further updates.

Have a great day and don’t forget to vote.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #8

Staying true to my word about keeping my readers up-to-date on the chase for a winner in the 2012 PUK Awards going on at iOwnTheWorld, here’s the very latest:

Cage Match #7 was a razor-thin victory for The People’s CubeDaletoons lost by a mere three votes.  Big Fur Hat cautions that every vote counts.  This is important because BFH is absolutely in love with the Alfred E. Neuman as Barack Obama graphic that appears to have been created by Mataleone which is being featured in Cage Match #8.

For those of you who may not have been following the action, iOwnTheWorld is holding “cage matches” to determine which website has created the best conservative agitprop for the year in an effort to present the winner with the coveted PUK Award.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now the contestants have been whittled down to 12.

Cage Match No. 8 is going on right now through 8PM ET tomorrow.  It features two marvelous images; one by Mataleone and the other by the very popular  Maksim of The People’s Cube.  Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

Please go over to iOwnTheWorldgo the comments section and click the thumbs up icon to vote for your favorite image.

I hope that some of my other entries make an appearance in future cage matches and if they do, you can bet I’ll let you know about them.

This has been a lot of fun and very gratifying to know that so many liked my work enough to cast their votes for them.  I hope that if future cage matches include some of my stuff that you will be kind of enough to give it a “thumbs up.”

Have a great day and don’t forget to vote.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #5

For the last couple of days I’ve let you guys know that  iOwnTheWorld is running cage matches to determine which website had created the best conservative agitprop for the year in an effort to present the winner with the coveted PUK Award.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now it’s down to 18.

Yesterday’s cage match was between my friend The Looking Spoon and me.  TLS creates some of the very best graphics in the conservative blogosphere.  I consider myself very lucky to have won Cage Match No. 4.  It would not have been possible without your support and The Looking Spoon’s generous linkage.  I’d also like to thank Dave Blount at Moonbattery for linking to my work in Cage Match #5.

Cage Match No. 5 is going on right now through 8PM ET tomorrow.  Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

I hope you’ll help an ‘ol gal out.  Thanks in advance for your vote.

See you tomorrow with another update.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #4

Yesterday I let you guys know that iOwnTheWorld was running cage matches to determine which website had created the best conservative agitprop for the year in an effort to present the winner with the coveted PUK Award.

Cage Match No. 3 saw two of my friends go head-to-head:  Diogenes’ Middle Finger and the Looking Spoon.  Yesterday’s competition yields The Looking Spoon as the winner of that match.  Congrats.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now it’s down to 20.  I had been hoping one of my creations would make the cut.  Lo and behold, today that burning question has been answered.  One of my entries is in Cage Match No. 4.

Cage Match No. 4 is going on right now through 8PM ET tomorrow.  Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

Please go over to iOwnTheWorld, go the comments section and click the thumbs up icon and vote for the TOP IMAGE.

I hope you’ll help an ‘ol gal out.  Thanks in advance for your vote.

I promised to keep you up-to-date on the cage matches going on over at iOwnTheWorld for the best conservative agitprop of 2012 that will culminate in awarding the best example with the vaunted PUK Award.

We are now in the throes of Cage Match No. 3 where two of my very favorites are going head-to-head:  Diogenes and The Looking Spoon.

Big Fur Hat won Cage Match No. 2.  I hope you’ll click on over and cast your vote for the one you think is the best.

The contest began with 28 finalists and now it’s down to 22.  I’m still hoping one of my creations made the cut.  That burning question will be answered over the course of the next two weeks.

Each cage match begins at 8PM ET every night and will last for 24 hours.

I’m rooting for my friends:  Diogenes’ Middle Finger, The Lonely Conservative, I’m 41, The Looking Spoon and Capitalist Preservation.

As I mentioned earlier, two of my faves are competing in tonight’s Cage Match No. 3.  Please take a moment to vote hereThanks for voting.

See you tomorrow with another update.

The PUK Awards Cage Match #2

Yesterday I told you guys about the Cage Matches that iOwnTheWorld was employing to help determine this year’s winner of the PUK Awards.

After they sifted through all the nominations they pared down the competition to 28 finalists.

The finalist in Cage Match No. 1 was Stilton Jarlsberg’s HopeNChange Cartoons.  Congrats.

Cage Match No. 2 is in full swing with Zappatrust and Big Fur Hat going head-to-head.

Each cage match will begin at 8PM ET every night for the next two weeks. Each cage match will last 24 hours.

I have no idea who the remaining 24 finalists are or even if my work qualified as a finalist.  I guess I’ll find out over the next two weeks.

I will keep you up-to-date on each cage match and hope you will vote for me and my friends:  Diogenes’ Middle Finger, The Lonely Conservative, I’m 41, The Looking Spoon and Capitalist Preservation.

The PUK Award Cage Matches

On December 12th I put up a post about The 2012 PUK Awards nominations.  The award is presented to the conservative website with the best graphic creations, also known as agitprop, used to influence and mobilize public opinion.

As any regular reader of this blog knows, I loves me some Photoshop™ and I’m very excited about iOwnTheWorld’s PUK Awards competition.

The nomination period ended on December 17th and now the folks at iOwnTheWorld have sifted through the nominations and have 28 finalists.

They’ve decided to have 14 cage matches—a head-to-head competition in which everyone can cast a vote.

Each cage match will begin at 8PM ET every night for the next two weeks. Each cage match will last 24 hours.

The first cage match is running now through tomorrow.

I have no idea who the 28 finalists are or even if my work qualified as a finalist.  I guess I’ll find out over the next two weeks.

I will keep you up-to-date on each cage match and hope you will vote for me and my friends:  Diogenes’ Middle Finger, The Lonely Conservative, I’m 41, The Looking Spoon and Capitalist Preservation.

2012 PUK Awards (Please Vote For Me)

Artwork courtesy of iOwnTheWorld

iOwnTheWorld has opened up nominations for their 2012 PUK Awards.  The coveted PUK Award is given out for the best conservative agitprop for the year.

For the uninitiated, The PUK Awards are named for iOTW’s most beloved reader Peter UK, who sadly passed away in November of 2009, well before his time. One of his last comments was, “Make The Bastards Live By Their Own Words.” It’s the inscription on the award.

Please visit iOwnTheWorld and nominate the best work from your favorite websites.  Nominations are open until December 17th.

There’s some truly awesome entries over there.  Here are some of the websites that have entered the contest thusfar:

Diogenes’ Middle Finger
The People’s Cube
The Lonely Conservative
Deviantart
Moonbattery
I’m 41
The Looking Spoon
Sad Hill News
Capitalist Preservation
Hope and Change Cartoons
Antiantiunderground
Political Clown Parade

Oh, you noticed yours truly is there too.  Toiling in obscurity, my efforts have been overshadowed by my utter anonymity.  Hopefully, one or more my offerings can change all that.

It’s Christmastime, so I hope the spirit of giving resides in your heart enough for you to nominate some of my work a few thousand times.  I’ve been a good little agitprop machine this year “making the bastards live by their own words” and surely you would want a deserving ‘shopper like me to feel your love.

The iOwnTheWorld staff will whittle the images down to the top 20. You, the readers, will vote on those 20 images. The Top Ten will be passed along to a Guest Judge who will be announced later.  The judge will put the nominations in numerical order, naming one of the pieces as the year’s PUK AWARD WINNER.

Nominations will be accepted until December 17th.  Here’s the link again.  Now go and voter for me, me, me.  Thank you.  Merry Christmas and please, I’m blegging unabashedly here, vote for me.

That is all.
