A just-released Justice Department Inspector General's report provides new details on the January 2017 plan by then-FBI Director James Comey, FBI officials and the nation's intelligence chiefs to spring a scandalous allegation on President-elect Trump, quickly record his reaction, use a prearranged secure videoconference to discuss the information, and fit it all into the FBI's ongoing "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation.

The allegation came from the so-called “dirty” dossier which was a collection of unverified tales about Trump and Russia compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele. The story was that in a Moscow hotel room four years earlier, Donald Trump had watched as prostitutes performed a kinky sex act as Russian intelligence service cameras rolled.

The new report shows Comey and other top officials placed great credibility in the allegation, which even Steele himself reportedly had grave doubts about.

Comey, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Chief of Staff James Rybicki, General Counsel James Baker, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page prepared “meticulously” for the moment when Comey would meet with President-Elect Trump alone in Trump Tower and ambush him with the salacious findings in the dossier.

“Comey said he had a secure FBI laptop waiting for him in his FBI vehicle and that when he got into the vehicle, he was handed the laptop and ‘began typing as the vehicle moved,'” the report says. He worked on his account as the FBI car took him to the New York field office, where aides had set up a secure video teleconference with Rybicki, McCabe, Baker, and the “Crossfire Hurricane” supervisors. Comey continued to work on his memo after that and sent the group a final version the next day, Saturday, Jan. 7.

This has to be the closest our country has come to a coup attempt in modern times.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said during a Fox News interview, “Power does not change you; it unmasks you. I believed for a long time and this report confirms it, Mr. Comey is a meat head. He is a political hack. He hurt the FBI badly.”

“The FBI should not be a political body. And Mr. Comey acted like a political operative while he was F.B.I. Director and every day since.  It’s just sleazy. I think Chris Wray [FBI Director] has a lot of work to do to regain the confidence of the American people for the FBI.”

Kennedy added that while he believes most FBI officials are “professionals,” Comey has done significant damage to the institution.

“I believe before this report came out he just cheapened the premier law enforcement agency in all of human history.  He ought to hide his head in a bag.”

This is the first of what I expect will be several more ugly and damning rebukes of senior DOJ and FBI officials regarding their actions and biases toward the Trump campaign of 2016.

Comey released a statement portraying the scathing report as a type of victory and encouraged his critics to send their apologies to him. 

DOJ IG "found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media." I don’t need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a “sorry we lied about you” would be nice.

Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey sat down with CNN’s Anderson Cooper at a town hall Thursday night marking exactly two years to the day after he was fired by President Trump. 

The former FBI head made it clear there is no love lost between him and the President whom he described as a 'chronic liar' who on more than one occasion displayed a corrupt intent to interfere with the Russia investigation.

It's clear that Comey is speaking out to cover his skanky ass and set up a narrative before reports from Inspector General Michael Horowitz come and before Attorney General William Barr reveals the results of his investigation into the origin of the Russia collusion sham.

Dragnet 2018: Not Your Grandfather’s FBI

The word “dragnet” was made famous in the mid-50s by the NBC TV show Dragnet, which featured Sergeant Joe Friday played by Jack Webb (pictured left).

A dragnet is a law enforcement term used to describe coordinated measures for apprehending criminals or suspects.

As a matter of principle, the law enforcement arm of the United States government must operate on a presumption of innocence.  A prosecutor should be assigned only if there is strong evidence that a crime has been committed.  In the absence of such evidence, a prosecutor should never be assigned to investigate whether an American may have committed some unknown crime.

What former FBI Director James Comey described in his testimony before the House Intelligence Committee in March of 2017 and what Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein later adopted to define Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s jurisdiction was not a criminal investigation or a prosecution nor did it provide a factual basis for either action.

The Obama Administration seized on, perhaps even created, the Russian probe in order to paralyze President Trump─to strangle his capacity to govern─and Obama holdovers in the Justice Department, for more than a year now, have been outrageously public about the existence of a “counterintelligence probe” and the Trump campaign investigation.

When Comey leaked his memos to the press, he knew it would instigate the appointment of a special counsel.

The collusion narrative was spawned by an unverifiable dossier bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton─a fact that was deliberately kept secret from the FISA court when the DOJ and FBI wanted warrants issued.

So far, four former Trump campaign associates─Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Richard Gates and George Papadopoulos─have been charged in Mueller’s inquiry into alleged Russian interference, though none of the charges are directly related to any misconduct by the President's campaign.

Alex van der Zwaan, an attorney, pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators during the investigation, and was sentenced to 30 days in prison in April. He was the first to be sentenced in the probe. 

Regarding Papadopoulos, there’s something fishy about the charge filed by Mueller against him according to former top federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy.

“While much that has gone on in the Mueller investigation is curious, I have assumed the candor of the special counsel’s portrayal of the Papadopoulos case:  The young man was approached by an agent of Russia [Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud], who eventually informed him the Kremlin had ‘dirt’ on the Democratic Party’s nominee, Hillary Clinton, in the form of ‘thousands of emails of Clinton’.  To my mind, then, the only questions involved (a) the nature of Mifsud’s relationship to the Putin regime and (b) whether the emails in question were the hacked DNC emails or the thousands of emails Clinton deleted from her homebrew server.”

“Remember, there is no allegation that Mifsud actually knew the Russians had Clinton emails, let alone that he ever showed Papadopoulos any such emails.  The claim is that Mifsud was told by unidentified Russian officials that the Kremlin had the emails.”

“So, what happens after Mifsud, allegedly, told Papadopoulos the Russians had these emails?  According to Mueller’s statement of the offence, the following day Papadopoulos sends two emails to high-ranking Trump campaign officials about his meeting with Mifsud and neither one of them says anything about emails.  It appears Papadopoulos was myopically focused on the possibility─farfetched, but apparently real to Papadopoulos─that Mifsud could help arrange a meeting between Trump and Putin.”

McCarthy is no hack.  He is a member of the Federalist Society and a former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney in New York, best known for leading the prosecution against the Blind Sheik (Omar Abdel Rahman) and eleven other jihadists for waging a terrorist war against the United States – including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and a plot to bomb New York City landmarks. After the 9/11 attacks, he supervised the U.S. attorney’s command-post near Ground Zero. He later served as an advisor to the Deputy Secretary of Defense.

The mainstream media has weaponized the storyline of Papadopoulos’ meeting with Mifsud as the exchange of information about emails that were hacked from the DNC and published during the 2016 presidential campaign.

McCarthy’s take is:  A very low-level, inexperienced Trump campaign adviser was interacting with a Maltese academic who had no real Kremlin ties and no inside information about whether Russia actually possessed damaging information about Clinton in the form of emails or otherwise.  This young campaign adviser then made a vague claim to an Australian diplomat, who did not hear him say anything about emails and did not report the conversation to his government through regular channels.

McCarthy adamantly asserts that after nearly two years of collusion banter, Congress needs to find the truth regarding whether Mueller’s contention that Mifsud and his associates were authentic agents of Russia or merely that Papadopoulos just thought they were.

NBC’s police drama, Dragnet, depicted law enforcement working methodically to investigate and apprehend criminals.  A gumshoe cop named Sergeant Joe Friday always insisted on “Just the facts, ma’am.”

Until just recently, the FBI’s credo of fidelity, bravery and integrity symbolized the world’s greatest law enforcement agency.  Now, the FBI [Comey, McCabe, Ohr, Strzok, Page] has damaged the constitutional values Americans embrace by picking a front-page fight with Donald J. Trump.

Dragnet 2018, what I prefer to call the Mueller probe, is an out of control investigation that was supposed to be about Russia has been more about money laundering in rug stores and porn stars than about the Kremlin’s meddling in the election.

Partisan forces (Obama holdovers) eager to feed the resistance inside the DOJ and FBI freely crusaded against a legitimately elected President and a lopsided team of Democrat lawyers working with Mueller have turned a mole hill into a mountain. Every conceivable angle has been probed; many of them far removed from Red Square.

Even with all the tools of spy craft, they’ve found nothing.  Nothing.

Stefan Halper, Director of American Studies at Cambridge University and a partner at Cambridge Security Initiative along with former MI-6 chief Sir Richard Dearlove is the informant spook who provided information to the CIA and FBI for the Russia investigation before and after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s appointment on May 17, 2017.

It has now been confirmed the Trump campaign was subjected to spying tactics via FISA surveillance, national security letters and covert intelligence operatives who work with the CIA and allied intelligence agencies.

CNN, NBC, The Washington Post and New York Times are more nervous than a virgin at a prison rodeo awaiting the release of the much-anticipated Department of Justice Inspector General’s report on the FBI and DOJ’s investigation and handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe.

The Clinton report is expected to be followed by a third report on the IG’s investigation into the FBI and DOJ’s handling of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) application on Carter Page, a former volunteer for the Trump campaign. The IG announced this investigation in March.

The good Roger Simon bluntly wrote, “What is being exposed now is an attempt by our highest law enforcement agency working in concert with our intelligence agencies and, evidently, the blessing of the former administration itself to block the candidate of the opposing party, even to defraud and spy on him, that is to, as others have said, "set him up." And then, if they were unsuccessful, make it impossible for him to govern. In addition, in all probability, the same players conspired to make certain Hillary Clinton was not indicted for a crime for which virtually any other American would have done jail time.”

The Plot Sickens

Circa published a report today describing a “frosty exchange” between ex-FBI Director James “Drama Queen” Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

The information about the “exchange” came after Comey’s public testimony last Thursday.  In the private session, Comey recalled Lynch requested he refer to the FBI’s criminal investigation of Granny Clinton’s email scandal as a “matter” not an investigation.  Comey went on to tell senators of a second encounter where things got “frosty”.

“During the conversation, Comey told lawmakers he confronted Lynch with a highly sensitive piece of evidence, a communication between two political figures that suggested Lynch had agreed to put the kibosh on any prosecution of Clinton.” 

“Comey said ‘the Attorney General looked at the document then looked up with a steely silence that lasted for some time, then asked him if he had any other business with her and if not that he should leave her office,’ said one source who was briefed.”

Comey will go down in history as the FBI’s greatest drama queen since J. Edgar Hoover.  Just how tall Comey would be in high heels?

Comey admitted he leaked notes from his conversation with President Trump to the New York Times. He then cited federal employees who leak untrue stories to the press.  Commercials for Super Beta Prostate don’t feature this many men happily leaking away.

Twisted Knickers: It’s Back To The Drawing Board For Democrats

The Senate Intelligence Committee's hearing on Wednesday morning furnished one undeniable fact:  Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Dan Coats and NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers resolutely maintained they had never felt or received pressure to act inappropriately.

"In the three-plus years that I have been the director of the National Security Agency, to the best of my recollection, I have never been directed to do anything I believe to be illegal, immoral, unethical or inappropriate," Rogers stated.

Coates declared, "I've never been pressured, never felt pressure to intervene or interfere in any way with shaping intelligence in a political way or in relationship to ongoing investigations."

Apart from the antagonistic and shameful inquisition by Democrats and perpetual RINO idiot John McCain nothing new emerged from these two intelligence officials.  Shortly after the hearing concluded ex-FBI Director Comey’s written opening statement for his Senate Intelligence Committee appearance was released.

In it Comey confirms that yes, he told Trump three times—just as Trump said, and just as "sources close to Comey" denied—that Trump was not the subject of any FBI investigation.

Unless Comey goes beyond his written statement on Thursday, his testimony is not likely to settle the question of obstruction with a definitive answer.  One man whose opinion I highly regard, George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, weighed in on the issue.

Nothing he read in Comey’s statement persuades him that Trump violated the law by interfering with a federal investigation. 

Turley was referring to the entirety of Comey’s written statement, including his account of an Oval Office meeting in which Trump asked Comey to drop the investigation of former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn. Comey says Trump told him, “I hope you can let this go.” 

Turley says in an email that “the comments are grossly inappropriate,” but that “we do not indict people for being boorish or clueless.”

The Singular Crutch Holding Up A Disillusioned And Fractured Democrat Party

Resisting President Trump has turned Democrats and Liberals into truly crazed McCarthyites.

Russia, Russia, Russia.  That’s all the Left can dredge up to blame Granny’s stunning loss in November.  Russian trolls were responsible for Socialist Pavlov dogs voting for Bernie.  Jill Stein was accused of having ties to Uncle Vlad by The Daily Kos (I refuse to link to them.)  MSNBC’s bread-and-butter.has consisted almost entirely of conspiracies concerning Trump’s connections to Russia and Hillary surrogate Howard (the screamer) Dean declared in late October of 2016 that FBI Director James Comey was on the same side as Putin.

James Comey reported in January that the DNC never allowed the FBI access to their servers or to John Podesta’s Smartphone in order to investigate the hack of their emails. Instead, the DNC hired the private cyber security firm, CrowdStrike, to carry out the investigation and the FBI used the data provided by CrowdStrike to make their conclusions.  It is still unknown why the DNC denied repeated requests by the FBI to investigate the original devices, or why the FBI decided to make any assumptions based on CrowdStrike’s report without access to the original devices. However, some experts are calling this report into question, and are now claiming that the very premise on which the report was based is flawed.  In reviewing the case, cyber security expert Jeffrey Carr determined:

“Part of the evidence supporting Russian government involvement in the DNC and related hacks (including the German Bundestag and France’s TV5 Monde) stemmed from the assumption that X-Agent malware was exclusively developed and used by Fancy Bear. We now know that’s false and that the source code has been obtained by others outside of Russia.”

The Democrat Party and their media mouthpieces continue their frantic red-baiting in an effort to divert attention away from the failures of the last 8 years and their ineffectiveness as a party.

“We have a hyper-partisan environment in which all sides too easily and too quickly abandon intellectual honesty. It is notable that Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins, two of the GOP's most strident critics of Donald Trump, are okay with [Comey’s] firing.” 

“It is not a constitutional crisis, nor is it a dark day for democracy. It is a president exercising his constitutional duties on the advice of his cabinet members. The timing is bothersome and may look bad, but the underlying rationale suggests the decision was made thoughtfully. However, the left will never believe President Trump nor believe anything other than the worst possible conspiracies about him. Russia-ism is the new Birtherism.”

There's nothing like liberals in high dudgeon, incredulous that we would allow Russia to interfere in our electoral process! When asked, of course, they have no evidence of any direct link between the Russians and the WikiLeaks revelations of deceit, misconduct and malicious mischief revealed in the emails of Hillary and her closest friends and advisers.

And don't get them started on FBI director James Comey! First he head fakes them into praising him for not recommending Hillary for prosecution, then he announces he has new information, after promising to inform them of any new information. Horrors!

Imagine if you will, a world in which Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accepts and uses a government email account for 100% of her business related emails, and then turned over 100% of those emails on her last day in office, as was and is required by law. In that world, where there are no private servers and no emails that weren't submitted for public scrutiny four years before the 2016 election, what part is there for Comey to play?

It seems a bit odd that unless Russia somehow directed Hillary not to campaign in Wisconsin, instructed her to drop like a rock at the end of the 9/11 memorial, or convinced her to set up a private server and conduct State business on it, that Russia is in any way culpable in Hillary's loss.

Time to "Move on".

A Little Blackmail Lasts Forever

PJ Media has learned from multiple sources that the House and Senate Intelligence Committees may have access to the contents of an Eastern European computer, potentially Russian, and that hackers may have exfiltrated Hillary Clinton's and Sidney Blumenthal's unsecured files by first hacking Marcel Lazar Lehel AKA Guccifer.

One or more American whistleblowers recently informed the Intelligence Committees that the files taken by the unknown hackers are available at specific locations in the Deep Web.

A congressional source who is familiar with the information says these documents are being called for now "the Russian files."  Getting them did not involve hacking Russians or anyone else, but rather locating the images that the files left behind while the unknown hackers moved them through the Deep Web.  When Clinton associates thought they were deleting her files, they may not have realized that files leave images even in the Deep Web when moved by hackers.

A preliminary review of the files indicated that they contain unclassified as well as potentially classified information, including one document relating to Benghazi that probably should have been highly classified and comes from one of Hillary Clinton's private computers.

Congress has learned that the FBI knew about the foreign exfiltration of that document from Clinton's server weeks before Director James Comey announced his decision not to recommend prosecution of Hillary Clinton for her use of private email.  Comey testified to Congress that Guccifer denied hacking Clinton and that Clinton was "probably" hacked, but did not allude to having received any information that she was hacked.

"With respect to potential computer intrusion by hostile actors, we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clinton's personal e-mail domain in its various configuration since 2009 was hacked successfully. But given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence," said Comey.

A congressional source who has met with a whistleblower commented that "even a Hillary supporter should want the public to know what foreigners took from her private servers, especially if it is damaging to her.  Otherwise the candidate could be blackmailed by a foreign power."

Hillary Not Headed To Slammer However Her Party Is Now In Prison

Some on the Right began speculating that FBI Director James Comey’s perplexing upbraiding of Hillary Clinton on Tuesday only to ignore the findings of his agents and let her skate on espionage charges, the mishandling of the nation’s secrets,, yadda, yadda, yadda, was his attempt to forestall the election chaos indicting her would create.

Director Comey will appear before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Thursday at 10 a.m. on C-SPAN 3.  Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) will seek more information from Comey regarding why he did not recommend charges be filed.

Greg Gutfeld, one of the co-hosts of The Five on Fox News, made an interesting observation in his monologue yesterday. 

Gutfeld noted, “Comey delivered a plate of juicy soundbites to the Republicans.”  He added Comey portrayed Clinton as “incompetent, careless and unsafe in an increasingly unsafe world.  She’s not a criminal, she’s damaged goods.”

I never tire to resurrecting that question when it comes to John Forbes Kerry.  Ketchup Boy, who testified before the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday, said:

Utter stupidity has no limits.
