CNN Is Full Of Yapping Turds

DISCLAIMER:  This blog makes abundant use of Photoshop®.  It is incumbent upon me to stress the above graphic has NOT been photoshopped.  It was taken from a published report from Daily Mail UK titled “CNN's Michael Smerconish is slammed for comparing Senator Bernie Sanders to the CORONAVIRUS, asking if either can be 'stopped'”

CNN is in hot water with supporters of Bernie Sanders after Michael Smerconish compared the Democratic frontrunner to the coronavirus that has killed just under 3,000 people worldwide and devastated financial markets across the globe on his early morning show.

Twitter lit up to slam the host as well as the cable news outfit noting "the network decided to get rid of the chyron" when sharing the host’s segment on Twitter.

#FireSmerconish even started trending as various users demanded action be taken against the host.

Let me be crystal clear.  I do not support Comrade Bernie.  I torch him regularly on this blog.  I vehemently denounce his Marxist leanings, criticize his unkempt appearance, the way he says “Cuber” and “Chiner” and his so-called “revolution”.

I would never equate the man to a deadly virus no matter how much I detest him.

Democratic presidential candidates have been describing the federal infectious-disease bureaucracy as rudderless and ill-prepared for the coronavirus threat because of budget cuts and ham-handed leadership by President Donald Trump. That’s an egregiously distorted picture, so says The Associated Press.

Some public health experts say a bigger concern than White House budgets is the steady erosion of a CDC grant program for state and local public health emergency preparedness — the front lines in detecting and battling new disease. But that decline was set in motion by a congressional budget measure that predates Trump.

The public health system has a playbook to follow for pandemic preparation — regardless of who’s president or whether specific instructions are coming from the White House. Those plans were put into place in anticipation of another flu pandemic but are designed to work for any respiratory-borne disease.

“The CDC’s response has been excellent, as it has been in the past,” said John Auerbach, president of the nonpartisan Trust for America’s Health, which works with government at all levels to improve the nation’s response to high-risk health crises. Some Democrats have charged that Trump decimated the nation’s public health leadership, but Auerbach said CDC’s top scientific ranks have remained stable during the past three years.

Last night, the President was speaking at a campaign rally in Charleston, SC and brought up the coronavirus and Democrats’ attempts to politicize the issue calling it their new hoax.

His comment was referring to Democrats claiming his administration is not doing a good job containing the virus. He never said the coronavirus itself is a hoax, just Democrats’ claims that the Trump Administration is failing to protect the country.

A POLITICO headline after the rally read: “Trump rallies his base to treat coronavirus as a ‘hoax.’”

No, he did not!

Quit playing god-damned politics. It is beyond shameful the way the press and Democrats have been spreading false information that undermines the nation’s efforts to face a potential pandemic.

Fa-La-La-La-Phooey

As Inspector General Michael Horowitz testified about the abuses of the FISA court by The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer’s Department of Justice and FBI and their “applications” to spy on the Trump campaign, CNN and MSNBC stopped following the hearing after about a half hour.  Both cable outfits refused to cover the opening statement of Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham.

The decision did not comport with the endless air time they gave to the impeachment hearings led by “Pencil Neck” Schiff and the morbidly obese Jerry Nadler.
The Horowitz Report provided damning proof of how the FBI wantonly mistreated Donald Trump and it directly contradicted their fake news coverage over the last three years.  The outright bias was not lost on the 2020 Trump campaign:
While MSNBC aired some of Sen. Graham's statement, the network cut away quickly. CNN appears not to have covered his opening statement at all.

Today, WH correspondent for the New York Times and contributor for MSNBC and NBC News, Annie Karni tweeted:
Two weeks before Christmas, the White House did not put the “media party” on its  holiday schedule nor did it furnish a reason for the decision.  Instead, members of the media and their families were accommodated with open White House tours to see the holiday decorations.

It wasn’t necessary to state a reason for the decision.  After all, media organizations have made a big show of their contempt for this president for his entire first term.  How preposterous would it be to go to a Christmas party at the White House with the Trumps and act like everything is hunky dory?

So, Ms. Karni complains there’s no opportunity again this year to schmooze with the booze and the finger foods.  There are no more press briefings where her ilk waged war on WH Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and subscriptions to the failing New York Times and Washington Post were canceled by the White House.

Oh, the humanity.

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Journalism Drowns In Designer Coffee

A Kiefer, OK police officer went into a Starbucks to pick up five drinks as a show of thanks for 911 dispatchers who were working over the Thanksgiving holiday.  When the officer got his order, he saw the word “Pig” printed on the cups’ labels.

The officer uploaded an image of one of the cups on Facebook prompting a response from the company.  According to ABC affiliate KTUL-TV, the intemperate barista called to apologize saying the stunt was meant as a joke.

When news of the incident reached Starbucks HQ, they fired the employee and issued the following statement:

"This language is offensive to all law enforcement and is not representative of the deep appreciation we have for police officers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe."

Early this morning the laughingstock of all laughingstocks tweeted a link to an entire article on their website shilling for the coffee company.
I sincerely hope Princess Acosta doesn’t mind my using his likeness for the new and improved ad for Starbucks’ new designer drink.  After all, didn’t “Dear Diary Guy” emphatically declare to President Trump that CNN is real news?  Why yes, I think he did.

Don’t Call Me Fredo!

CNN is suffering horribly from a credibility crisis. It’s audience shriveled in the second quarter of 2019 with its primetime shows finishing as the 15th most-watched network on basic cable behind networks such as TLC, Investigation Discovery and the Hallmark Channel according to TV Newser.  “Cuomo Prime Time” averaged a dismal 910,000 viewers.

The cratering ratings and the persistent “CNN sucks” memes have taken their toll on anchor Chris Cuomo who was caught on video “flying into an abject rage” at a man for calling him “Fredo” at a bar in Shelter Island, NY on Sunday.

The “Fredo” moniker is a reference to Fredo Corleone, the weak, dopey brother in the iconic Mario Puzo mafia crime film The Godfather.

"Punk-ass bitches on the right call me Fredo. Fredo was from The Godfather. He was a weak brother. And they use it as an Italian aspersion. Are any of you Italian? Are you Italian? It's a fucking insult to your people. It's an insult to your fucking people.  Is that a cool fucking thing?"

The other man in the video then mockingly tells Cuomo that he is "a much more reasonable guy in person than you seem to be on television," to which Cuomo responds, "If you want to play, we'll fucking play."

"You're gonna have a fucking problem. It's a little different on TV. Don't fucking insult me like that. You called me Fredo, like I call you punk bitch."

Taking off his glasses, the other man says, "I don't have a problem, man," but then Cuomo reiterates that he is going to "ruin your shit" and "fucking throw you down these stairs like a fucking punk."

Dear Diary, I Poked The Bear Today. It Did Not End Well.

During a Rose Garden press conference, President Trump announced he was declaring a national emergency on the southern border.  He cited an invasion of drugs and criminals entering the country as his authority to spend billions on construction of a border wall.
Just before the President was scheduled to speak, Angel Moms were seen walking into the Rose Garden.  Acosta was on-air with Jim Sciutto saying, "Jim, we believe those are some of the Angel Moms that the President has talked so much about out on the campaign trail, at rallies and so on. These are parents of victims who were allegedly killed by undocumented immigrants. The President likes to point to these folks who have been through some terrible experiences as evidence a wall is needed down at the border."
Acosta continued, "I suspect, Jim, if we're seeing some of the Angel Moms coming in, the President is going to be trying to drum up some emotional energy on this occasion here, to try to sell this wall. We’ve seen him do it before."

Following the president’s remarks Jim “Look At Me” Acosta, CNN’s premiere idiot asked, “What do you say to your critics who say that you are creating a national emergency, that you're concocting a national emergency here in order to get your wall?"
The President replied, “I’ll ask the Angel Moms.”  “What do you think?  “Do you think I’m creating something?”  “Ask these incredible women who lost their daughters and their sons.”
One Angel Mom could be heard saying, “This is real.”
"Your question is a very political question, because you have an agenda," Trump proclaimed. "You're CNN, you're Fake News. You have an agenda."

Watch Out! We’ve Got A Badass Over Here

CNN’s host of “Tonight with Don Lemon” made a controversial comment about radicalized white men during the hand-off to his show Tuesday night discussing the impending arrival of thousands of migrants intent on invading the U.S.-Mexico border. "We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is white men, most of them radicalized to the right and we have to start doing something about them,” Lemon said. “There is no travel ban on them…there is no white guy ban.”
A CNN spokeswoman said Wednesday neither Lemon nor the network would speak more about it.  And yet, when Lemon appeared on-air Wednesday evening he noted people were angered by his comment saying everyone was “missing the entire point.”

“Let’s put emotion aside and look at the cold, hard facts” said Lemon as he cited reports from the Ă¼ber-left Mother Jones website which fit his narrative allegedly showing a spike in domestic terrorism by right-wing extremists.
Lemon does not think for himself.  He arrives at some bogus worldview not because it’s authentic to his experience but automatically.  He is a robot.  He’s on auto-pilot just like his colleagues “Tater” Stelter and Jim “Crybaby” Acosta.  He is an “edgelord”; a brash provocateur. The man’s entire journalistic method seems to be to call attention to himself for no apparent reason, almost as if he wanted people to see him making an utter fool of himself.

Don Lemon’s Having “Minstrel Show” Cramps

Even before rapper Kanye West was scheduled to meet with President Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday, the dim bulbs at CNN were busily dissing him. Bakari Sellers declared, “Anti-intellectualism simply isn’t cool.  Kanye West is what happens when negroes don’t read.”

Tara Setmayer said, “Now all of a sudden because he's put on a MAGA hat and he's an attention whore like the President, he's all of a sudden the model spokesperson. He's the token negro of the Trump Administration. Black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft, okay. They've had it with him,” Setmayer added. “No one should be taking Kanye West seriously.”
Following West’s meeting, CNN’s Don Lemon said to others on another CNN panel, West is “an embarrassment to the African American community and America itself.”
“What I saw was a minstrel show today. Him in front of all these white people, mostly with people, embarrassing himself and embarrassing Americans, but mostly African Americans because every one of them is sitting either at home or with their phones, watching this cringing.  I couldn’t even watch it.  I had to turn the television of because it was too hard to watch.”

“This has nothing to do with being liberal or a conservative,” he continued. “This has to do with honesty. And we have to stop pretending, sitting here on these CNN panels or whatever network panels, and pretending like this is normal and let’s have this conversation about Kanye West. Who cares? Why are you sending cameras to the Oval Office for Kanye West?”

Lemon pleaded for those “who know him to grab him, snatch him up and get Kanye together because Kanye needs help.”

Near the end of his remarks, Lemon said the artist changed after the death of his mother, remarking his mom would have been disturbed by his behavior and “is rolling over in her grave.”

The tweet embedded below is representative of many responses to Lemon’s invoking the death of West’s mother.
Now CNN is deservedly receiving backlash for allowing these manifestly racist comments to go on air.

According to DailyMail.com, CNN has not responded to their request for comment.

I don’t particularly care for West’s brand of music, but the attacks on him are despicable and are indisputable proof that racist thoughts and actions say far more about the person they emanate from than the person to whom they are directed.

That Was A Rake You Stepped On Honey

CNN scripted reader Alisyn Camerota got a little snotty on Tuesday following a brief report about a severe hailstorm hitting the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO.  She wondered how some people still don't think "climate change is necessarily happening."

Fellow scripted reader John Berman alerted viewers about large chunks of hail that hammered the area on Monday, killing two animals at the zoo and injuring 14 people.

Camerota frowned at the footage of hail splashing into the water at a bear habitat and remarked sarcastically, "Is it August in Colorado as well?"

"I believe it has reached August there," Berman said.
Those who worship at the altar of anthropogenic climate change are convinced the global relevance of hail and a worldwide warming climate increase the chances of hailstorms and morons like Camerota spit out climate change drivel robotically.

Erie Insurance published a report stating, “Each year, hailstorms lead to crop and property damage across the United States. While every state can be the target of a hailstorm, some states are more at risk than others.”

“Landlocked states in the Great Plains and the Midwest are most frequently impacted by hailstorms. That’s because hail commonly occurs in regions where the air’s freezing altitude dips below 11,000 feet.”

“The region where Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming meet tops the list as the most common location for hailstorms. It is appropriately known as Hail Alley. Hailstorms can occur during the spring, summer or fall months. The majority of these storms appear between May and September.”

And according to 9News.com in Denver, “Hail is something that Coloradans are very familiar with. Part of the Interstate 25 corridor, including Denver, gets more hail storms than anywhere else in the country.”

“A report from the Storm Prediction Center shows the area from the Denver Metro to Colorado Springs gets an average of 13 large hail events every year. That's more than most areas in the Central Plains known as "Hail Alley" and equal to the number of severe hail days in southwestern Kansas.”

“If you count days that any size hail occurs, you could call the Front Range the 'Second Hail Alley'”.

“The Front Range, the High Plains just east of the Rocky Mountains definitely leads the country in those types of days. Anywhere between 12 and 15 days a year in that area,” said Paul Schlatter, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Colorado Springs (elevation 6,035 feet above sea level) and Denver (5,280 feet) are both seated much higher than cities like Oklahoma City. This means as hail falls out of a storm below the freezing level, it doesn't have as far to travel down to the ground and so not as much of the hailstone will melt. This is why “Hail Alley” and the “Front Range” get so much more hail compared to other cities; they’re physically much closer to the storm and the hail stays frozen long enough to be damaging.

The geologic age of the Rocky Mountains varies based on location. The youngest parts were uplifted 100 million to 65 million years ago during the close of the Mesozoic Era or what is commonly known as the Age of Reptiles, whereas the older parts rose 600 million years ago.

Al “ManBearPig” Gore predicted the polar ice caps would melt by 2014. Didn’t happen.  If you want to know what the weather will be like tomorrow ask your local weatherman, but if you want to know if it’s going to rain two weeks from now forget about it.  That’s not how the weather works.

I blame those damned dinosaurs for not stopping that cataclysmic asteroid that messed with Earth’s climate for 100,000 years after impact.  No wonder they died out.  Big dummies!

Weather is gonna weather.  Climate change is a natural phenomenon millions of years old.

CNN Asks: What Happened The Last Time A President Chose America’s Enemies Over Its Friends?

President Trump’s arch-enemy appears to be more popular with viewers interested in lifestyles of the rich and famous than news.  As their ratings continue to collapse, the only good day the cable news nitwits had during the second quarter of 2018 was the day of the Royal Wedding.  When it comes to fluff and pageantry CNN is your go-to source.  When it comes to actual news, an audience seeking to be well-informed ditch the network  faster than a toupee in a hurricane.

In a twisted version of the TV game show Jeopardy CNN asked, “What happened the last time a President chose America’s enemies over its friends?”

The lowly cable outfit published a repulsive piece authored by Manisha Sinha. The Indian-born American historian at the University of Connecticut suggested, “Donald Trump likes to compare himself to Andrew Jackson, but the Andrew he really resembles is Andrew Johnson. What they have in common are delusions of personal grandeur and a tainted ascent to the presidency. Trump was elected by a minority of the American electorate, with help from the vagaries of the Electoral College system and from considerable Russian interference.”

Sinha continues, “Johnson became President thanks to an assassin's bullet. While Johnson immodestly compared himself to Jesus and Moses, Trump claims he is the best at everything, even boasting recently on Twitter that his popularity among Republicans exceeds that of Abraham Lincoln.”

“Indeed, pundits have likened today's partisan divisions to those of the Civil War era. But they more closely resemble the politics of Reconstruction, the period after the war when for the first time in history, an American president, Johnson, was impeached by the House of Representatives.”

“But the resemblance between the two men goes deeper. Johnson's white-supremacist views were blatant and his policies precipitated a constitutional crisis that put the President at loggerheads with Congress and his own party, the Republicans.”

This “expert” takes great care to emphasize the following:

The Republican Party then was the liberal party of anti-slavery, big government and Lincoln. The Democrats were the party of white supremacy, Southern slaveholders and states' rights.

Sinha rather conveniently misses a critical point that is easily substantiated from a host of reputable sources which document Johnson was a Democrat. In 1862, Lincoln appointed him Military Governor of Tennessee.  In 1864 Republicans nominated Johnson for Vice President.  Lincoln was elected to a second term but was assassinated five months later in 1865.

CNN’s biased propaganda included a video accompanying Sinha’s screed featuring Richard Clarke, former National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection and Counterterrorism for Presidents Reagan and George H. W. Bush.

Clarke, an alleged liar and obvious Never Trumper opined, “The U.S role in the world is diminishing and the overriding thing that connects all of this is diplomatic malpractice by the President of the United States.  He is trying to do diplomacy, high-stakes diplomacy, in multiple arenas by himself; shooting from the hip.  This is a man who has no experience in national security, no experience in international diplomacy, who’s ignoring his advisers and we see the results.”

“Our influence, our respect around the world is diminishing.  The prospects of war are inching up because of his tweets, because of his impulse, because of his inexperience and the insistence on doing it himself.”

In Honor Of National Tater Day: Presenting “Tater” Stelter

Yep, National Tater Day is a thing.  It’s observed annually on March 31.  Since the time potatoes were shipped from Europe to the colonies in the early 17th century, their consumption has been a major part of the North American diet. In the United States, there are over 100 varieties of potatoes.  But one variety is being celebrated here today.
To mark this auspicious day, we are highlighting the resplendent Brian Stelter.  Stelter was dubbed “Tater” by senior columnist and author for Townhall, Kurt Schlichter. Kurt, according to his bio at Townhall, was personally recruited to write conservative commentary by none other than Andrew Breitbart.
When The New Yorker severed ties with CNN contributor Ryan Lizza for improper sexual conduct, CNN pulled him from future on-air appearances while the network conducted “an extensive investigation into the matter,” prompting Stelter to tweet:
Schlichter tweeted his reply, “Hey Tater, why can't liberal media people not grope every woman in sight?”
When President Trump was scheduled to take his first formal health examination since taking office, Stelter’s network was certain the president was a mental basket case.  After Dr. Ronny Jackson’s 4-hour exam proved the President’s mental health was above reproach, poor Brian was forced to tweet:
Schlichter responded, “Tater has sadz.”

John Stossel, a libertarian pundit for the Fox Business Network, interviewed a young lady we all would be wise to pay attention to.
Oliver Darcy, Senior Media Reporter for CNN, chided Stossel’s interview with the young lady tweeting, “John Stossel seems to think its great people are getting their news from YouTubers vs reliable new organizations.
“Tater” saw an opening to attack Fox News again with this tweet in response to Darcy’s dig:
So, the young lady decided to throw down the gauntlet:
Here’s the Stossel interview with Candace.  After watching it, I’m confident you’ll agree she’s a voice to be reckoned with.
Owens is far from the first black conservative. But, she says others “have not been successful in the past because they cared too much about what people thought…We’re doing it differently…talking a lot of trash.”
Having an edgy sense of humor is one way she does it. So is knowing history and literature better than her critics.
“You can feel free to call me an Uncle Tom. You can feel free to call me an Auntie Tom. It does not affect me,” she says. “Do you want to know why? Because I actually read the book. Uncle Tom was the hero.”
Look out “Tater”.  Candace may one day make tater salad out of you.

“We Told The Truth; At Least Our Version Of It”

There is an extraordinary contrast between what is known about the Kennedy clan and the continuing infatuation with it.  Teddy Kennedy was a vulgar debaucher.  He did not even attempt to shield his wife from the humiliation of his whorings.

Beginning this Sunday CNN, the most busted name in news, will air a miniseries “American Dynasties: The Kennedys.”  The miniseries intent, I believe, is to present a sanitized version of a powerful, ruthless, sexually arrogant family with links to Chicago gangsters.
Promotional material for the series includes pleasant footage of the Kennedy children enjoying “picnics on the south lawn where they had a tree house and swing set.”  Spare me.
The spell of “Camelot” that has been cast upon us must be broken once and for all.  To that end, the producers behind the upcoming film focusing on Ted Kennedy and the murder of Mary Jo Kopechne in the Chappaquiddick incident purchased ad space to play just before CNN’s upcoming miniseries with other ads playing during commercial breaks throughout the series in the coming weeks.
Teddy was one of three debauched sons of privilege (four, if you count Joe who was killed during World War II).  It was that very privilege which saved his neck from being convicted of depraved indifference in the drowning murder of Mary Jo Kopechne.  After pleading guilty to leaving the scene of the “accident” he received a two-month suspended sentence and his driver’s license was suspended for one year.
The parents of Mary Jo refused to have an autopsy performed on their daughter due to fears that it would reveal she was pregnant at the time of her death.  They received a settlement of $140,904 from Kennedy and his insurance company.
For 40 years, from 1969 until his death in 2003, Joseph A. Kopechne was haunted by the knowledge that his daughter did not drown in Kennedy’s Oldsmobile but asphyxiated gasping for air.  She could have been saved had Kennedy reported the incident right away rather than waiting 10 hours to do so.  Mary Jo’s mom passed away in 2007 and said that Kennedy never told her he was sorry.
Liberals expect us to kneel in worshipful awe to their “Lion of the Senate”.  Kennedy was a drunken, lecherous aberration.  There was nothing heroic about the man.

Special Programming Alert

CNN, the most busted name in news, announced Jake Tapper will be “interviewing” Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, er, Barney Fife on Sunday, February 25.
The blurb for the show indicates the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting will talk about their “Never Again” movement and their call to action for lawmakers.
We learned today through Sgt. Jeff Heinrich of the Coral Springs Police Department, his officers “were stunned and upset the four original Broward County Sheriff’s deputies who were first on the scene did not join them as they entered the school.  We already knew about the yellow belly deputy assigned to the school as a resource officer who waited outside listening to screaming schoolkids as they were being ambushed and killed.  The other three deputies were hiding behind their squad cars with their weapons drawn.
Will Jake Fapper ask ol’ Barney to apologize for his grandstanding at the town hall?  Will he ask him if he, too, is a coward for withholding information about those officers?  Will he point out their slogan really isn’t “To Protect and Serve” but instead “To Cower and Then Blame” or “Shelter in Place, Good Luck.”
911. What’s your emergency?  #ResignSheriffIsrael

CNN: Dead Network Walking

Maybe CNN’s current bottom-of-the-barrel ratings will force the network to admit they are serving Russian interests with their rabid sensationalism of the “collusion” story.

Isn’t There A Zebra Carcass Chuck Todd Should Be Hovering Over?

After the release of the fantasy book by Michael Wolff, NBC’s Chuck Todd reported, "Welcome to a five-alarm dumpster fire for the White House or shall we call it Bannon’s rebellion? The Russia investigation has been blown open in dramatic fashion. Not by the ‘fake news media,’ not by the ‘deep state Justice Department,’ but by Steve Bannon!"
The nation's journalists cover this obvious nonsense because otherwise, they'd have to enter what to them is uncharted territory: the truth.
If there's anything substantial in Wolff's tales of chaos in the early Trump White House, it shows nothing more than this:  Those of us who thought the political neophyte Trump was unprepared to take office in January were correct, and Trump’s response—that he would learn in office and appoint the "best people" to help him—was equally correct.
We are watching our mainstream news media collapse. They leap with reckless abandon on any fake news that might make Trump look bad and then are forced to retract it. They are, at least to this observer, not reporting actual news but their own sick and twisted fantasies.
We were also treated to CNN’s Brian “The Nation’s Hall Monitor” Stelter’s declaration Trump’s latest tweets were “madness” and asserted as fact that the President is mentally unfit to serve. Stelter’s evidence of Trump’s mental health was not based on medical evidence, but solely on the President’s tweets.
How, for the love of God, can anyone take this dolt seriously? I ask this because in 2016 Stelter agonized over concerns that were raised when his Queen exhibited a pattern of documented medical episodes, including a concussion and a “life-threatening blood clot”.  When more questions arose in August 2016 after her prolonged public coughing fits it was Stelter who dodged the issue strongly suggesting the state of her health should be referred to her doctors.
A couple of days ago, Newt Gingrich penned an op-ed for Fox News.  In his piece Gingrich noted:
There could be no greater contrast in leadership on the world stage and in interpreting reality than President Obama’s “lead from behind” model in Iran versus President Trump’s “lead from the front” model.
When the Iranian people demonstrated against the nation’s dictatorship in 2009, President Obama was weak and quiet. He was so interested in getting a nuclear arms deal with the dictatorship that he did not want to irritate Iran’s leaders.
President Trump represents a remarkably different view of reality. He believes weakness begets weakness. He believes bad regimes are bad. He believes leaders look for opportunities and move aggressively and courageously to advance their vision of the world. He believes America is big enough and strong enough to provide real leadership.
In his address to the United Nations in September, President Trump said: “The entire world understands that the good people of Iran want change, and, other than the vast military power of the United States, that Iran's people are what their leaders fear the most. This is what causes the regime to restrict Internet access, tear down satellite dishes, shoot unarmed student protestors, and imprison political reformers.”
Note that President Trump, who the elite left insists is ignorant and dangerous on national security and foreign policy, was describing the potential for the current popular demonstrations three months before they started.
Now that as some courageous Iranians have risked prison and even death by standing up to the dictatorship, President Trump is once again proving that he represents the opposite of President Obama’s passivity and weakness.
[SKIP]
David Ignatius, one of the most respected columnists on foreign affairs and national security, wrote a recent column in The Washington Post headlined: “Trump is right to tell Iran the world is watching.”
When President Trump starts getting “Trump is right” headlines in The Washington Post, you know something big is happening.

Shrieking Hens

President Trump made his first appearance of the new year in the White House briefing room during today’s press conference. However, he only appeared on-screen.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders introduced the President as a "special guest" before starting a pre-recorded video message delivered to reporters via two screens flanking the briefing podium.
Mr. Trump's message praised the economic benefits of the tax overhaul bill.
"The historic tax cut I signed into law just two weeks ago before Christmas is already delivering major economic gain. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are seeing larger paychecks, bigger bonuses and higher pension contributions and it's all because of the tax cuts and tax reform."
The digital message meant the president did not take questions from reporters who were hellbent to bombard him with questions about the salacious new book by Michael Wolff, “Fire and Fury:  Inside Trump’s White House”.
WH Press Secretary Sarah Sanders dismissed the work as "a book full of lies" and called it "tabloid gossip. I don't really think Americans care about some trash by an author no one had ever heard of until today or a fired employee.”
There’s nothing like a little presidential trollery to make the press run in circles shrieking like hens who’ve been trained at hen school to run in circles and shriek at a little presidential trollery.  Anyone who’s paid attention to this President understands he uses his belligerent New York sense of humor to tease and annoy anyone he finds to be a puffed-up fake or blowhard whether it’s Kim Jong Un, the Iranian mullahs or CNN’s Jim Acosta and Brian Stelter.  But the press doesn’t seem to get the joke.  It’s hard for them to see Trump clearly without removing their heads from their ass.
NOTE:  That last paragraph was appropriated from the inimitable Andrew Klavan.
