Figures don't lie, but liars don't figure.

Numbers are funny things.

Funny because, like a Spanish transgender cross-dressing drag beauty queen, you can dress them up as you like to make a point.

Even if that point is perverse and a complete lie.

John Stossel presents such a lie.

You've probably heard that America has the most mass shootings in the world. That's often given as a reason for more gun control.  

But economist John Lott looked into that claim and he says it's a myth based on one bogus study. 

"The United States has the most mass shootings by far the most public mass shootings You don’t see murder on this kind of scale with this kind of frequency in any other advanced nation on Earth."

Where’d that claim come from?

I Say Disinfomation, You Say Misinformation

POTUS calls the bile pouring out of the media "Fake News". But what is really happening? Is it all out and out lies? Completely fabricated stories with no basis in reality? Here's something to chew on.

One of Postman's most influential works is Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business. In Amusing, Postman argued that by expressing ideas through visual imagery, television reduces politics, news, history, and other serious topics to entertainment. He worried that culture would decline if the people became an audience and their public business a "vaudeville act." Postman also argued that television is destroying the "serious and rational public conversation" that was sustained for centuries by the printing press.

Postman was a progressive, a liberal but in the classic sense and he foresaw the dangers that faced American culture due to manipulation of our news/information providers.

There is no doubt that much of what we see in the MSM is outright manipulation. This is presented through journalism schools as "Advocacy Journalism." Definition:

Advocacy journalism is a genre of journalism that, unlike propaganda, is fact-based, but supports a specific point of view on an issue.

IMHO advocacy journalism accomplishes the exact same purpose as propaganda. It is more insidious and due to the dumbing down of the population, more effective. Out and out lies can be exposed for what they are, but fact-based manipulation just leads to arguments and division.

Stormy Daniels Must Pay Trump

Every now and then there is a schadenfreude event that brings a smile to many people.It usually involves someone receiving their comeuppance, their just rewards for actions that we find disagreeable or just downright despicable. In this case, a nasty porn star whore and her creepy lawyer get pwned by POTUS.

Trump Lawyers Send Stormy Daniels a Bill for $341,559.50 – Fees Awarded by Judge For Defending Frivolous Lawsuit…

Attorneys representing the interests of President Trump in the case of Gifford v. Trump previously won a dismissal of all claims against Mr. Trump. As a consequence the court ordered the plaintiff “Stormy Daniels” and her creepy porn lawyer, Michael Avenatti, to reimburse Donald Trump’s legal team for all expenses incurred during their defense of the frivolous lawsuit.

The lawyers representing Mr. Trump filed a motion with the court and now submit a claim for $341,559.50 for legal costs incurred (full pdf below). The court will also likely impose monetary sanctions upon CPL Avenatti.

What's particularly schadenfreudest about the Daniels/Avenatti debacle is that the leftist fools who contributed over a half million dollars to Daniels' Crowd Justice campaign account will be paying for POTUS' legal fees.

Schadenfreude is best when served warm.

The Blood Of Sequoyah Does Not Flow Through Elizabeth Warren's Veins

Now this man was a Cherokee who should rightly be honored by his people and any one who claims to be an American.

Sequoyah was born in 1770 near Knoxville, Tenn. to a woman named Wuteh and an unknown father. Much of his early life is debated, but accounts state that he never went to school or learned English. Sequoyah grew up to be a silversmith and became impressed by the white settlers' use of writing. He began creating a writing system for the Cherokee language around 1809. The Nation of Cherokees accepted his system in 1825, and the first Cherokee newspaper launched in 1828.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not a DNA techie or a genealogist, but Ms. Warren's claim to be of Native American heritage seems to be getting desperate. The DNA linkage she claims is not an actual chain of Cherokee nucleotides since such a thing does not exist; not for Cherokees nor for any other Native American tribe.

The Cherokee Nation is having none of it. In a blistering statement, Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin, Jr. writes, “A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America.”  

This is an important fact and especially true of Warren’s DNA test, which did not include any American Indian DNA whatsoever to compare her results with. Buried in the Boston Globe story is this bombshell: “To make up for the dearth of Native American DNA, Bustamante used samples from Mexico, Peru, and Colombia to stand in for Native American.”  

In other words, all Warren’s DNA test really proves is that she might be 1/64 to 1/1024 Mexican, Peruvian, or Colombian. What’s more, while some tribes are willing to accept 1/16 ancestry, they are not willing to do so through unreliable DNA tests. What they want to see is actual genealogy, and the truth is that Warren has no documentation to prove that her family has ever had an American Indian in her family.

The only thing Warren's DNA has to show is that there may be an illegal alien or two lurking in her ancestor's closet.

Why Grandma, What Big Pupils You Have....

All the better to lie to you my dear!

After all the media hype surrounding Stormy Daniels expose' of her alleged Trump Trysts on 60 Minutes, the only big revelation was that she appeared to be under the influence of some kind of chemical stimulant. Oh, and yes she is a slut. The dead give away (for the stimulants - not the porno stuff) was the size of her pupils that indicated that she there was a high probability that she was using cocaine or she was dead/unconscious. This despite the very harsh, bright lights used during the interview which should have reduced their size.

Discussions of the effects of stimulants on a persons pupils can be accessed here. Dilated pupils is a commonality among users of cocaine, methamphetamines and ecstasy.

Daniels' pupils should have been very diminished under that lighting. Years ago I did some local cable television programming for my department (crime reporting) under the same kind of bright television studio lights and it is quite uncomfortable. You could almost hear my pupils straining to get smaller.

Was washed up pornstar Stormy Daniels high on drugs for her highly anticipated ’60 Minutes’ interview? Twitter couldn’t help but notice Daniels’ dilated pupils. Later came the accusations of drug use.

Pupils tend to constrict due to the bright lights used for TV interviews.

This isn't going to end soon. Daniels' lawyer is in cahoots with the media to drag this out as long as possible; probably hoping to drown out the collapse of the Russia, Russia conspiracy. Already more "evidence" is being promised. To keep this charade going, more unverifiable, salacious tidbits will be dropped like rabbit turds in a carrot patch.
