I Say Disinfomation, You Say Misinformation

POTUS calls the bile pouring out of the media "Fake News". But what is really happening? Is it all out and out lies? Completely fabricated stories with no basis in reality? Here's something to chew on.
“Television is altering the meaning of 'being informed' by creating a species of information that might properly be called disinformation. Disinformation does not mean false information. It means misleading information - misplaced, irrelevant, fragmented or superficial information - information that creates the illusion of knowing something, but which in fact leads one away from knowing.” ~ Neil Postman
One of Postman's most influential works is Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business. In Amusing, Postman argued that by expressing ideas through visual imagery, television reduces politics, news, history, and other serious topics to entertainment. He worried that culture would decline if the people became an audience and their public business a "vaudeville act." Postman also argued that television is destroying the "serious and rational public conversation" that was sustained for centuries by the printing press.

Postman was a progressive, a liberal but in the classic sense and he foresaw the dangers that faced American culture due to manipulation of our news/information providers.

There is no doubt that much of what we see in the MSM is outright manipulation. This is presented through journalism schools as "Advocacy Journalism." Definition:
Advocacy journalism is a genre of journalism that, unlike propaganda, is fact-based, but supports a specific point of view on an issue.
IMHO advocacy journalism accomplishes the exact same purpose as propaganda. It is more insidious and due to the dumbing down of the population, more effective. Out and out lies can be exposed for what they are, but fact-based manipulation just leads to arguments and division.

Shoveling Manure

America just celebrated its Independence Day.  Thomas Jefferson warned, “The press is impotent when it abandons itself to falsehood.”

There was a time when journalists were trusted and admired.  All that has changed.  Most of what you read, watch and listen to is distorted by intentional bias and hostility toward a president the media loathes and toward the voters who saw in him a man who pledged to make America great again; someone who would unwind Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America.

On Monday, NBC’s Matt Bradley accused President Trump of using critically ill Charlie Gard’s parents’ grief as a political prop.
Bradley suggested that there may be a more sinister motive to Trump’s tweet.  “Now, depending on how you see this, depending really on your impressions of Mr. Trump beforehand, you could either decide that this is the president selflessly stepping in to help grieving parents who are experiencing a terrible, wrenching pain and a baby who has a very rare, very difficult to treat illness or you could decide that this was the president trying to use the grief of two parents and a small baby for political gain and weighing into a situation that was very much a national and European issue and not one we would expect anything from an American politician.  But again, it all depends on how you look at it,” said Bradley.

British Prime Minister Theresa May faces increasing pressure to intervene after President Trump and Pope Francis gave their support as doctors prepare to turn off little Charlie’s life support.
The Vatican said the Pope “is following with affection and sadness the case of little Charlie Gard and expresses his closeness to his parents. For this he prays that their wish to accompany and treat their child until the end is not neglected.”

Legacy media outlets have been reduced to mere caricatures having been exposed as unprofessional, dishonest and vulgar.

Thomas Paine, often called “The Father of the American Revolution” and author of the pamphlet Common Sense noted, “Our greatest enemies, the ones we must fight most often, are within.”

From the vulgar voices of Anderson Cooper, Chris Matthews, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher to the assassination porn of Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Kathy Griffin or Shakespeare in the Park, President Trump was right when he tweeted:

The Face Of A Dying Nation

Today at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) President Trump spoke to an enthusiastic crowd as he vowed to uphold the campaign promises.which thrust him into the White House.  He committed to aggressive action on creating jobs and heightening national security.
Part of his speech struck a chord with me.  In a moment you will understand why.
As part of my pledge to restore safety for the American people, I have also directed the defense community to develop a plan to totally obliterate ISIS.
Working with our allies, we will eradicate this evil from the face of the Earth.
At the same time, we fully understand that national security begins with border security; foreign terrorists will not be able to strike America if they cannot get into our country.
By the way, take a look at what's happening in Europe, folks, take a look at what's happening in Europe. I took a lot of heat on Sweden.
And then a day later, I said has anybody reported what's going on? And it turned out that they didn't—not too many of them did. Take a look at what happened in Sweden. I love Sweden, great country, great people, I love Sweden. But they understand. The people over there understand I'm right. Take a look at what's happening in Sweden. Take a look at what's happening in Germany. Take a look at what's happened in France. Take a look at Nice and Paris.
I have a friend; he's a very, very substantial guy. He loves the City of Lights, he loves Paris. For years, every year during the summer, he would go to Paris, was automatic with his wife and his family. Hadn't seen him in a while. And I said, Jim, let me ask you a question, how's Paris doing? "Paris? I don't go there anymore, Paris is no longer Paris." That was four years—four or five years hasn't gone there. He wouldn't miss it for anything. Now he doesn't even think in terms of going there.
Take a look at what's happening to our world, folks. And we have to be smart. We have to be smart. We can't let it happen to us.
So let me state this as clearly as I can, we are going to keep radical Islamic terrorists the hell out of our country.
We will not be deterred from this course, and in a matter of days, we will be taking brand new action to protect our people and keep America safe, you will see the action. I will never ever apologize for protecting the safety and security of the American people, I won't do it.
If it means I get bad press, if it means people speak badly of me, it's OK, doesn't bother me. The security of our people is number one, is number one.
Here is why this part of President Trump’s speech struck at my heart:

Paris is no longer the romantic City of Lights depicted in Hollywood movies.  Instead it bears a striking resemblance to some post-apocalyptic Armageddon.

The video embedded below is footage taken with a hidden camera by a Frenchman after 2000 illegal immigrants were evacuated on September 16, 2016.  It shows the devastating effects of uncontrolled illegal mass immigration.

The immigrants have since returned and have claimed the streets as their own.  They defecate and urinate publicly.  The police have completely given up trying to counter the blight.  Crime and rape is rampant forcing Parisians to avoid the area at all cost.

If the trend continues the French will become strangers in their own land forever changing the romantic images of a once proud city and nation.

This is what the mainstream media is concealing from us.  Disgraceful.
