On Thursday, MSNBC’s resident lunatic, Lawrence O’Donnell hosted “A Last Word Special: Joe Biden with Stacey Abrams”.  This was little more than a casting call for the morbidly obese, gap-toothed pushy broad who is weaseling her way into Uncle Joe’s VP selection.

“Only in America, is jogging in 2020 while black and sleeping while black a cause for killing," Abrams said. "Our ability to vote is exactly how to solve one of the challenges that the Vice President lifts up—we have to have the ability to elect district attorneys who actually respect our people, that we can elect people as our sheriffs that actually execute laws properly. That is what we have to take to the voting booth in November and into the presidency and into the White House in January."

Democrats should be wary if they expect her to be Joe’s caretaker while in office.  Joe will starve to death because this gal can pack away the snacks.

Poor Joe Biden.  He’s grounded by the coronavirus and facing tough questions about his role in the “Obamagate” scandal that could keep him in his basement all summer.

Biden is one of several Obama Administration officials who asked to “unmask” the identity of former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn in late 2016 and early 2017, when then-President-Elect Trump was about to take power.

"I was never a part or had any knowledge of any criminal investigation into Flynn while I was in office. Period. Not one single time."

My reference to Spy Vs Spy may be a little too much boomer for some, but Biden has never been good at answering uncomfortable questions.  Fact is, any damned question can trip him up.  Better stay in that basement Joe.  It’s not safe to come out and I’m not talking about the Chinese Lung Rot.

President Trump pressed Sen. Lindsey Graham who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee to call The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer to testify about the attempted coup against his presidency and the efforts to unmask Gen. Mike Flynn. 

If I were a Senator or Congressman, the first person I would call to testify about the biggest political crime and scandal in the history of the USA, by FAR, is former President Obama. He knew EVERYTHING. Do it @LindseyGrahamSC, just do it. No more Mr. Nice Guy. No more talk!

In July of 2019, Vice President Mike Pence was at Cape Canaveral to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing in 1969.  He said, “If Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins are not heroes, then there are no heroes. Apollo 11 is the only event in the 20th century that stands a chance of being widely remembered in 30th century.”

I hard to argue with his assessment unless you’re talking about Capt. Mark Kelly.

Kelly, an astronaut himself and husband to Gabby Giffords, is running for Senate from the state of Arizona.  He’s running as a Democrat.  His party affiliation is hardly the problem.  His allegiance to America has come under scrutiny.

Coming at a time of heightened tensions between President Trump and the Communist Chinese government, we are learning Kelly’s company spent years flaunting its ties to Chinese investors Tencent and WeChat.  Both companies are guilty of espionage.  The good people of Arizona and this nation cannot trust Kelly to deliver on his promises or keep America safe from communist influence.

The worst part of Kelly’s relationship with China is his company's hot air balloons take better surveillance photos of the earth than satellites. And now he’s given a stake in that technology to Red China.

The contest between Kelly and Martha McSally is among the handful of races nationally expected to determine control of the Senate next year.  I want Arizonans to take heed of this disturbing revelation and cast their votes for McSally.  His betrayal of America cannot stand.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe visited The White House yesterday.  He is the second world leader to meet with President Trump since taking office a scant 21 days ago.

The two leaders agreed to discuss a bilateral trade framework in the wake of America’s withdrawal from the 12-party Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement.

Rather than focusing on the dangers of allowing China to dominate regional trade standards, protecting against their theft of intellectual property and halting their intervention in our economy, The Washington Post, instead chose to parade their weapons-grade stupid.

We know President Trump is concerned with appearances—especially when he's on television, or in front of news photographers or large crowds. 

We also know that President Trump is concerned with hands—how large they are, how strong they are—just look at them!

Trump is also a well-known germaphobe. He initially shunned shaking hands with supporters on the campaign trail. As president, protocol compels him to shake a lot of hands, though. 

And recently, he's taken part in a few handshakes that we'll just call "intense" for now—most recently, a bizarre moment with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe on Friday. 

Whether it's just habit, or a way of asserting his power, Trump has a habit of pulling forcefully on the hand he's shaking. We've spotted it now in handshakes with Vice President Mike Pence (on election night) and with Judge Neil Gorsuch (on the night Trump nominated Gorsuch to the Supreme Court). 

This afternoon, he did it again, with Abe. 

Trump even took time out to compliment Abe's "strong hands"—or maybe he was just referencing his own. 

But Trump doesn't always tug on the hands of those he's greeting. When Kanye West visited Trump Tower in December, the two dapped like old friends. 

While it's admittedly a small thing, little glimpses into Trump's thinking can give us an idea of how he handles these situations. But let's be honest—we already knew Trump likes to be in control.

To say I’m disappointed in this report is an understatement.  They failed to point out one of President Trump’s shoe laces was 1/16th of an inch longer than the other.  What’s up with that?

Did President Trump bow down to the Japanese Prime Minister?  Asking for a friend.

Beltway Ninnies And New York Times Propaganda Ministry Plead “Don’t Upset The Dragon!”

The bed-wetting on the Left over a congratulatory phone call made to President-elect Trump by Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan’s first female president, caused heads to explode last Friday.  But why?  Because no US Commander-in-Chief has spoken directly to a Taiwanese leader since America established diplomatic ties with Beijing in 1979 via President Jimmy Carter’s “one China” policy.

The President-elect did not inform the White House or the corrupted-by-Hillary State Department beforehand.  He did not consult with what is effectively America’s liaison office in Taipei, the American Institute in Taiwan.  Each would have tried to stop him.

Chris Murphy, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, in a tweet acknowledged that “consistency is a means, not an end” but suggested Trump’s moves, including the call with Tsai, “are major pivots in foreign policy w/out any plan.” “That’s how wars start,”the Connecticut Democrat wrote.

Evan Medeiros, former Asia director on the National Security Council, told the Financial Times Chinese leaders “will see this as a highly provocative action, of historic proportions” and that he is worried “Trump is setting a foundation of enduring mistrust and strategic competition.”

The people of Taiwan (formerly known as Formosa) consider themselves Taiwanese not Chinese and Beijing is worried the island situated off China’s southeastern coast will formally break away and declare itself the Republic of Taiwan.  China has long sought to absorb the island nation into the Communist Party’s “Motherland”.

Gordon Chang, a noted expert on China, Asia and nuclear proliferation as well as a former trustee of Cornell University notes, “Trump, by seemingly not caring about Beijing’s reaction, has cut China down to size, telling its autocrats he does not fear them.”

“Just about everyone assumed the Chinese would create a crisis for Trump in his first months in office, just as they created crises for both George W. Bush—in April 2001 with the detention of the crew of the U.S. Navy EP-3—and his successor—the harassment of the Navy’s unarmed reconnaissance vessels, the Impeccable and Victorious, in March and May 2009.”

“Instead, Trump took the initiative and created a crisis for China’s leaders, and he did that more than a month before taking the oath of office. Therefore, Beijing is bound to find the next months unfamiliar and unsettling.”

“There is, if you need a metaphor, a rather large bull in the china shop. And, yes, that could be a good thing.”

China is a bully.  The Communist regime is a master at strategic and methodical planning fully seizing on Obama’s impotence as a leader.  It has engaged in a series of confrontations in the East and South China Sea.  They have witnessed the decline of the United States under the sorry leadership of The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer.  The leaders of that country chortle at his ineptitude in much the same way you will see in the video below.  The point of the video, released 6 years ago, is Americans erred by turning away from their values. We should shudder at the idea of a Chinese-dominated future.

Our betters on the Left show little, if any, regard for the Taiwanese people.  They are quite happy to turn a blind eye to the expansion of Communism in the Pacific Rim.  Leave well enough alone they say.  Don’t upset the Dragon they say.  Watch the failed attempt by ABC’s little Georgie Stephanopoulos to create a controversy where none exists.

Of Hashtags, Selfies And Balls

On Friday May 9th, the man whose wit and wisdom I adore wrote this:

“It is hard not to have total contempt for a political culture that thinks the picture at right is a useful contribution to rescuing 276 schoolgirls kidnapped by jihadist savages in Nigeria. Yet some pajama boy at the White House evidently felt getting the First Lady to pose with this week's Hashtag of Western Impotence would reflect well upon the Administration. The horrible thing is they may be right:  Michelle showed she cared—on social media—and that's all that matters, isn't it?” 

“Just as the last floppo hashtag, #WeStandWithUkraine, didn't actually involve standing with Ukraine, so #BringBackOurGirls doesn't require bringing back our girls. There are only a half-dozen special forces around the planet capable of doing that without getting most or all of the hostages killed: the British, the French, the Americans, Israelis, Germans, Aussies, maybe a couple of others. So, unless something of that nature is being lined up, those schoolgirls are headed into slavery, and the wretched pleading passivity of Mrs Obama's hashtag is just a form of moral preening.”

Then there’s Michael Goodwin’s take:

As Barack Obama enters the twilight of his tenure, the debate over his legacy is ­beginning, but one conclusion already seems certain. It can best be described as “Honey, I shrunk the presidency.” 

Not since Jimmy Carter was held hostage by Iran has the Oval Office seemed so inconsequential against the forces of international darkness. The mismatch is particularly striking because smallness has been Obama’s choice. 

Although he is guilty of executive overreach at home, that bully behavior only sharpens the contrast with a foreign policy that is feeble when it is not comatose. The president’s estrangement from the demands of global leadership is giving a green light to tyrants and malevolent opportunists everywhere 

His preference for navel gazing over action was on full display last week. As Russia and China menaced their neighbors and Islamist terrorists set off bombs in a half-dozen countries, Obama accepted an award from Hollywood pal Steven Spielberg for fighting genocide. Passing up a chance to give a full-throated defense of freedom and Western civilization, the president lapsed into what The New York Times called a “meditation” on the limits of his power. 

That’s far too kind. It was a white flag of surrender and more proof that Obama lacks the capacity to shoulder the responsibilities that have belonged to the Oval Office for 100 years. 

The speech sounded like that of a man who is shocked to find that evil still roams the Earth, and doesn’t have a clue what to do about it. A long paragraph of his meandering remarks, released by the White House, captures his sense of helplessness. 

“I have this remarkable title right now—president of the United States—and yet every day when I wake up, and I think about young girls in Nigeria or children caught up in the conflict in Syria—when there are times in which I want to reach out and save those kids—and having to think through what levers, what power do we have at any given moment, I think, ‘drop by drop by drop,’ that we can erode and wear down these forces that are so destructive, that we can tell a different story,” Obama said. 

If there was a course of action buried in that litany of woe, it ­escapes me. The sequence amounts to a counsel of defeat. 

Earlier, he had talked about rising anti-Semitism and the spread of sectarian and tribal conflicts. 

“We cannot eliminate evil from every heart, or hatred from every mind,” he said. “But what we can do, and what we must do, is make sure our children and their children learn their history so that they might not repeat it. We can teach our children the hazards of tribalism. We can teach our children to speak out against the casual slur. We can teach them there is no ‘them,’ there’s only ‘us.’” 

There you have it. We can teach our children warm and fuzzy things—assuming they and we are not killed by madmen first. In which case, there’s nothing we can do. 

The speech reflects how little Obama has grown in office. He initially viewed American power as a problem that needed to be checked if the world was to find lasting peace and harmony. 

By and large, he followed that bad prescription by deliberately shrinking America’s global footprint, and the result is the astonishing chaos we see around us. The vacuum is being filled not with democratic movements but by al Qaeda, China, Russia and other authoritarian regimes eager to take advantage of our retreat. 

Obama’s view of the world was wrong, and his policies are making it more dangerous and less stable. Yet he is still sounding the call to retreat, proposing new cuts to the military that would shrink it to pre-World War II levels. 

Having failed to listen or learn, Obama surveys the incomprehensible brutality and sinks into an intellectualized self-pity. Indeed, there is special poignancy to the fact that First Lady Michelle Obama joined the Twitter nation over the Nigerian schoolgirl abductions. 

The photo of her holding a sign saying “Bring Back Our Girls” is riveting, but also odd. 

Did she think to push her husband to do something? 

And you wonder whom she expects to save the girls. The United Nations? The terrorists themselves? Nigeria’s government? 

Maybe all of the above, which is to say no one, because, without the leadership of the United States, there is no one who can maintain peace and security. 

This is the result of the choice Barack Obama made. This is what the world looks like when a president laments evil ­instead of confronting it.

Obamao Souvenirs Difficult To Find During FLOTUS Visit To China

T-shirts, coin purses and posters that show The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer portrayed as Chairman Mao are normally available for sale at the Great Wall of China. But on Sunday, when the Wookiee visited the Chinese tourist spot with her daughters, the so-called “Obamao” souvenirs were nowhere to be found.  Or were they?

Wargames

It has been confirmed that a few days remain before a massive air/land/sea exercise gets underway in the Eastern Mediterranean off the Coast of Syria, led by Russia and including Iran, Syria and China.

Malcolm Hoenlein, the executive vice president of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, reporting from Jerusalem says that the Russians are backing the Assad regime entirely, and that the Russia maneuver means that the P5+1 talks in Moscow will go nowhere.  Iran has no reason to bend with Russia's support so massive and aggressive.

Iran and China have received permission to pass warships through the Suez Canal to participate in the games.  The exercise is to rehearse the repelling of an invasion of Syria from the West or the North.

  

These “wargames” demonstrate that the NATO card played in Libya will not be played again.  Russia believes that the U.S. betrayed the agreement reached with Gadhafi, and Russia will not be fooled again.  Putin plays a strong card.  It’s “game on” for the Obama administration.

Anne Gearan, AP National Security Writer, pens this at Boston.com:

“Pressure increased on Russia over the weekend, when the United Nations suspended its unarmed monitoring mission in Syria out of concern for the monitors’ safety. The move was widely interpreted as a challenge to Russia to intervene with Assad to preserve a U.N. role Moscow sees as a brake on any armed foreign intervention.”

“Meanwhile, Obama’s leverage and options are limited.”

“The United States has refused to arm anti-Assad rebels, in part to avoid confrontation with Russia, which has armed the Syrian regime for years. Although Moscow fears one, there is little chance of a military campaign like the one that led to the ouster of Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi last year.”

“Russia has angrily charged that the U.S. and other nations went beyond the bounds of the United Nations Security Council humanitarian mandate in Libya, and have blocked U.S. efforts to win an arms embargo or other tougher Security Council measures on Syria now.” 

“In the days leading up to the G-20, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton angered Russia by charging that it was equipping the Syrian government with attack helicopters that could be used against civilians. She later acknowledged they were helicopters already owned by Syria that were being repaired in Russia, but the U.S. has let the charge of possible use against civilians stand.”
