No. 2 Alabama Vs. West Virginia

Finally.  College football returns today.  The Crimson Tide will go up against the West Virginia Mountaineers at 3:30 PM at the Georgia Dome and there’s going to be a huge crowd to hoot and holler for the Tide.  This will be first time these two teams have met on the field.

The Mountaineers have lost 16 of their past 20 games and desperately need to make something good happen during a difficult opening month of the season.

Vegas oddsmakers favor Bama by 26 points.

Sources are reporting that Coach Nick Saban is going to play fifth-year senior Blake Sims at QB.  Bama has lost a lot of its outstanding starting lineman.  The Mountaineers are a hurry-up team, something Nick Saban struggles with.

GO BAMA!  ROLL TIDE!

And because no football post would be complete without some pom-poms, please enjoy this photo of two Bama cheerleaders.

Juxtaposition

The Ass, The Cart And The Horse

The stunning weakness, lack of direction and aimless leadership of The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer was on full display during Thursday’s White House Press Conference.

“I don't want to put the cart before the horse,” TWMDCO said, referring to the ever-escalating problem of whether to attack ISIS inside Syria's borders.  “We don't have a strategy yet.  We need to make sure we've got clear plans, and we're developing them.  At that point I will consult with Congress and make sure their voices are heard.”

The horrifying specter of a short knife, James Foley kneeling in the desert sand in a Guantanamo jumpsuit, a black-clad executioner with a British accent in the heart of the Middle East are symbols of power, sophistication, and retribution.  It says to us, “We [ISIS] mean business. Are you in America capable of taking us on?”

Syria and Iraq are plunged in chaos. Not far behind are Libya and Yemen—maybe they are awaiting their own versions of the Islamic State.  What the Foley beheading video communicated to the world was the fact that these people are literally capable of anything.

White House spokesperson Josh Earnest was taken to task by Fox News White House Correspondent Ed Henry.  Watch as Earnest steps on his dick repeatedly as he tried to walk back TWMDCO’s no plan, no strategy, no effin’ idea what to do about the filthy heresy of Islam.

The Least Serious President in the History of the Republic™ on Ukraine, Syria & the Economy, Part Deux

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
"Next week, I'll be in Europe to coordinate with our closest allies and partners. In Estonia, I will reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the defense of our NATO allies. At the NATO summit in the United Kingdom, we'll focus on the additional steps we can take to ensure the alliance remains prepared for any challenge."
Unwavering commitment? Check.
"Our meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission will be another opportunity for our alliance to continue our partnership with Ukraine, and I look forward to reaffirming the unwavering commitment of the United States to Ukraine and its people when I welcome President Poroshenko to the White House next month."
"Partnership"? Check.
"...Ukraine is not a member of NATO, but a number of those states that are close by are. And we take our Article 5 commitments to defend each other very seriously, and that includes the smallest NATO member, as well as the largest NATO member."
"...and take our Article 5 commitments to defend each other very seriously" (Having trouble suppressing a giggle here!) Check. Let me see...unwavering commitment to our allies and "partners", taking our Article 5 commitments to defend each other very seriously, then why in the Hell haven't you grown a backbone and done something about the incursions into Crimea, which everyone has apparently already ceded to the Russians, and the continuing invasion of the Ukraine, which you will not call by its proper name? Didn't we already have a "commitment" to the Ukraine if not a signatory of NATO? Let me remind you, Mr. President, since apparently golf clears empties the mind, from wiki:
The Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances is a political agreement signed in Budapest, Hungary on 5 December 1994, providing security assurances by its signatories relating to Ukraine's accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The Memorandum was originally signed by three nuclear powers, the Russian Federation, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. China and France gave somewhat weaker individual assurances in separate documents. The memorandum included security assurances against threats or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine as well as those of Belarus and Kazakhstan. As a result Ukraine gave up the world's third largest nuclear weapons stockpile between 1994 and 1996, of which Ukraine had physical though not operational control. The use of the weapons was dependent on Russian controlled electronic Permissive Action Links and the Russian command and control system.
So, because it was only a "memorandum" and not a treaty, the "assurances of security" are null and void? What happened to "unwavering commitment"? Partnership"?? Taking our commitments to defend each other very seriously??? And, of course, since it is Barack Obama, it gets worse!

As a newly minted Senator, Barack Obama pushed to disarm the Ukraine of not only its nuclear arsenal, but conventional weapons as well. Why would they need them? They have the US and Great Britain guaranteeing their security and territorial integrity!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
* Obama traveled to Ukraine with Sen. Dick Lugar in 2005 just seven months after he became a senator, touring surplus weapons stockpiles
* Most of the small arms and ammunition were left over when Soviets withdrew from Eastern bloc nations, and later dumped in Ukraine
* The two senators secured U.S. funding to help destroy the weapons instead of leaving them intact
And now, the man who helped disarm the Ukraine is in no hurry to ship them any arms with which they could defend themselves, after broaching the promise to keep them and their territory secure.

Barack Obama: The gift that keeps on giving.

The Least Serious President in the History of the Republic™ on Ukraine, Syria & the Economy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Our peerless Narcissist-in-Chief made a few remarks today:
Our focus right now is to protect American personnel on the ground in Iraq, to protect our embassy, to protect our consulates, to make sure that critical infrastructure that could adversely affect our personnel is protected...our core priority right now is just to make sure that our folks are safe...
The president is focused. Got it!
It is not just part of my responsibility, but it is a sacred duty for me as commander in chief to protect the American people. And that requires me to act fast based on information I receive if an embassy of ours or a consulate of ours is being threatened.
You mean like you did in Benghazi?? Surely I am not the only one to have Benghazi come to mind while the Poseur-in-Chief preens mindlessly about a "sacred duty" to "act fast based on information I receive if an embassy of ours or a consulate of ours is being threatened." Again, Mr. President, what exactly did you do Sept. 11th, 2011? Did you not say, Mr. President,
"... the minute I found out what was happening, I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we’re going to investigate exactly what happened so that it doesn’t happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice. And I guarantee you that everyone in the state department, our military, the CIA, you name it, had number one priority making sure that people were safe. These were our folks and we’re going to find out exactly what happened, but what we’re also going to do it make sure that we are identifying those who carried out these terrible attacks.”-Barack Obama, Oct. 26, 2012
What orders did you give and to whom? Were they carried out? If not, why not? And if not, what were the consequences of refusing to carry out a direct order from the President of the United States? Was this person fired? Disciplined in any way??

Based upon your performance in office, or lack thereof, what makes you think your remarks today have the slightest bit of credibility? Along that same line, maybe you should go back to letting Michelle pick out your suits for you?

NFL Preseason Week 4: Panthers Vs Steelers

Tonight’s game between the Panthers and the Steelers is the final game of the preseason.  There are 16 games on tap tonight.  Only two will be nationally televised:  The Jets and Eagles game airs at 7:00PM ET and the Seahawks take on the Raiders at 10:00PM ET.  Both games will air on the NFL Network.

QB Cam Newton won’t take the field tonight due to a rib injury he sustained in last Sunday’s loss to New England.  Ben Roethlisberger reportedly won’t play tonight.

Joe Webb will QB for the Panthers hoping, of course, to secure a spot on the roster.  Roman Harper who hasn’t played at all during the preseason due to turf toe will pair with Thomas DeCoud at safety.
Greg Olsen won’t suit up for the Panthers' final preseason game tonight because his son T.J. had open heart surgery this past Monday.  T.J. has been fighting hypoplastic heart syndrome since he was born.  Hopefully, this final surgery will allow the little guy to live a long and normal life.  Olsen should be back with the team in time for the regular-season opener.

2-Year-Old Girl Takes The Ice Bucket Challenge For ALS

We’ve been bombarded with Ice Bucket Challenges for ALS by superheroes, famous athletes and celebrities.  One super-classy challenge was fulfilled by Sir Patrick Stewart

In the video embedded below, a two-year-old girl, apparently from somewhere in the UK, is ready for her challenge.  Listen carefully.  You can hear her say, “I want to challenge…I nominate Ma, (unintelligible) and Tom.  Here we go…”

Immediately after she’s drenched she drops the British version of the “F” bomb…”fookin’ ‘ell.”

Feeble Clapping, Awkward Silence And Dagger Stares

It was a tough crowd make no mistake about it.  Some 10,000 Legionnaires attended the 96th Annual American Legion Convention in Charlotte, NC today.   Did I mention it was a tough crowd?

Montel Williams, who was tremendously outspoken when the VA scandal broke, was the Master of Ceremonies.  He praised the Legion and its members effusively for their fight for accountability and change during the scandal earlier in the year.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty was presented the James V. Day “Good Guy” Award for his patriotism and service to the community.

Lt. Col. Oliver L. North, U.S. Marine Corps (Ret), was presented the National Commander’s Public Relations Award for raising public awareness about the honorable nature of military service and the sacrifices made by America's heroes.

The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer had barely wiped the dust off his golf cleats after two weeks on the island of Martha’s Vineyard when he climbed aboard Air Force One to speak at a convention chock-full of veterans.

The insufferable airhorn droned on for 35 minutes.  According to The Daily Mail, there was a small group of admirers who sat near the front and tried to generate applause for him about 10 times.

His 35-minute speech seemed to have reminded the audience of the stark divide between the White House's policy choices and the feelings of the men and women often called on to carry them out.

After the customary introductions and thank-yous to dignitaries, TWMDCO spoke for nearly 8 minutes without a single clap.

Most of the veterans sat on their hands, leaving awkward silences where White House speechwriters expected ovations.

A special thanks to The Right Pundit for taking the time to create a shorter version of today’s speech and the apathetic response to it by these veterans.

It’s Not A Home Without Furkids

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are".—Anonymous
It’s National Dog Day today and I wanted to share a photo of my furkid, Sophie, seen here on her favorite woobie resting against MY pillow.  It’s as if she’s telling me, “You have enough space.  Move over.”

The Left Has Gone Utterly Apoplectic Over GOP Campaign Ad

The lefty websites are squealing in outrage over a campaign ad released yesterday by Republican senatorial candidate Allen Weh who is seeking to unseat New Mexico Democrat Tom Udall.  Political opponents are critical of the web-only ad implying it used a tragedy to promote his campaign.

Coverage of the ad by news outlets from the Washington Post to CNN quickly brought the New Mexico race to the national stage.

Weh is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.  He began his service as an enlisted Marine before being selected for Officer Candidates School. He served two tours in Vietnam and with the British Royal Marines in Malaysia. Colonel Weh was recalled to active duty during the Persian Gulf War, for the U.S. expedition into Somalia, and to serve as Chief of Staff of Marine Forces Pacific prior to retiring in 1997.

Currently, Udall is leading Weh in the Senate race. The Real Clear Politics polling average shows Udall leading Weh 53 percent to 37 percent.  Perhaps that will change.

All the hub-bub is over a blistering attack by Weh’s campaign on the lack of leadership of both The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer and Udall.  An audio clip of Obama promising to be dedicated to his job is interspersed with images of violence abroad and our semi-retired president on vacation.  A cropped image of American journalist James Foley’s murderer is part of the montage.
OBAMA:  You, you give me this office and in turn my fears, doubts, insecurities, foibles, need for sleep, vacations, leisure is gone.
UDALL:  I know as far as I feel, this diplomatic path that we're on right now is a good one.
OBAMA:  I’m giving myself to you and the American people should have no patience for whatever is going through your head because you’ve got a job to do.
UDALL:  I know as far as I feel, this diplomatic path that we're on right now is a good one.
The ad concludes with these words flashed on the screen:  “To change Washington, you must change your Senator.”
Udall’s campaign was quick to criticize the ad saying, "James Foley’s death is a tragedy, and to use his killer’s horrific image for personal gain in a campaign ad is reprehensible and appalling."

Udall's campaign manager, Daniel Sena, said in a statement, "If Allen Weh wants to talk about the issues with New Mexico voters he should find a way to do it that is respectful and substantive. Using James Foley’s horrific and tragic death for shock value is offensive to Mr. Foley's family, New Mexico voters and the rest of our country."

“Out of respect for the Foley family, no picture of James Foley was used,” Weh’s campaign manager, Diego Espinoza, said in an email to Politico’s Morning Score. “Tom Udall’s feigned outrage over the inclusion of a now familiar image of this Jihadi terrorist, who is clearly the face of the evil that threatens our nation. Senator Udall’s comments about our diplomacy being ‘good’ reflect his naivetĂ© and inexperience in matters of national security.”

In a telephone interview with Albuquerque's KRQE News 13, Weh said he stood by the ad.  “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. In fact, I think it serves the greater good.  You’ll note that no picture of Mr. Foley was ever in that film. None, ever.”

Late Monday night, Foley’s brother Michael, gave KRQE a statement saying his family had “no reaction” to Weh’s ad.  “His decision [to use the image] doesn’t affect the family.”

The reason Foley’s brother reacted in that fashion is because he is angry and believes the United States let his murdered brother down.  He alluded to the much trumpeted 'flawless' July 4 rescue mission for the captive reporter which failed when it raided the wrong base.

If you would like to contribute to Weh’s campaign to help restore leadership go here.

And here's his "Freedom" ad

Earthquake in Napa Valley CA

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It was reportedly a 6.0 quake, causing a lot of damage, much of it from fires from ruptured gas lines. No fatalities or missing persons reported yet. But take a look at the double yellow lines in that picture I just grabbed. CalTrans is filling a crack in the roadway: look how far the roadway has shifted side to side.

A Reflection Of His Depth Of Grief Over James Foley’s Beheading

The decision by The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer to follow the moment of national grief over James Foley’s beheading by retreating to the golf course 7 minutes after his statement, allowing himself to be photographed laughing and having a good time with his cronies, has rubbed even partisan Democrats the wrong way.

If At First You Don’t Succeed…

Krauthammer Got it Wrong

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
I don't say this lightly. I have the utmost admiration and respect for Charles Krauthammer. He is a gifted thinker and has a way with words that is virtually unparalleled. The man can turn a phrase like no other. I don't always agree with Charles, but on those few occasions that he drifts from orthodoxy, which is to say, whatever I believe to be true, his reasoning for it is always well thought out. I direct your attention to today's Quote du jour, taken from his best selling "Things That Matter":
"It's hard to blame this state of affairs on a fickle public. Blame also belongs to the idiot politicians who decided 30 years ago to abandon the moon and send us on a pointless and endless journey into low-Earth orbit. President Bush has sensibly called an end to this nonsense and committed us to going back to the moon and, ultimately, to Mars. If his successors don't screw it up, within 10 years NASA will have us back to where we belong---on other worlds."---Charles Krauthammer, Aug. 3, 2007
That was written seven years ago this month. Raise your hand if you seriously think we will return to the Moon or go to Mars in the next three years, with our space program focused more on Muslim self esteem than going where no man has gone before. Can you see his error? Can you see what was unfathomable and unthinkable in 2007?
If his successors don't screw it up
He used the plural: "successors". In retrospect, how could he have known that it would not take more than one successor to "screw up" and decimate the space program? Because he is a man of integrity, he allowed this glaring error to be republished in his book. It only took one successor to George W. Bush to screw up the space program (along with the economy, race relations and foreign affairs) and deny us access to the heavens. Unless you consider the outrageous amounts we pay one of our biggest geopolitical enemies to ferry us to the space station, at their whim, which hamstrings us to an extent in standing against their earthly aggression.

In retrospect, I can see how Charles could have made the error. Few people, even those who were certain that Obama would be disastrous for our country, could fully envision the magnitude of that disaster. Who knew?

Recoiling In Horror

The burning news of the day, besides the racial animus and anarchy gripping Ferguson, is the 5-minute snuff video of the beheading of freelance Global Post journalist James Wright Foley.  The video made a short appearance on YouTube™ before being scrubbed, but the video can still be viewed at Live Leak.  I will echo the warning that accompanies the video:  Missing journalist James Foley reportedly beheaded by ISIL might contain content that is not suitable for all ages.

A spokesman for YouTube™ said the company had "clear policies that prohibit content like gratuitous violence, hate speech and incitement to commit violent acts, and we remove videos violating these policies when flagged by our users".

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that social media users including the US Muslim Public Affairs Council are begging people not to share the graphic images.  They argue that sharing these images would only “help the terrorists deliver their propaganda.” Doing so might, just might, make people extremely angry.

I vehemently disagree with that sentiment and here is why.  This is a teachable moment for Americans who have a media that emasculates the English language using only “permissible” words to sanitize the emergence of a caliphate that closely resembles the Third Reich.  They have slaughtered, buried alive, crucified and beheaded Shiites, Kurds, Christians and anyone else it can find by the untold thousands.

Daniel Greenfield warns, “We can see the larger problem flying Jihadist flags in London and New Jersey. We can see it trooping through Australian and Canadian airports to join ISIS. We can see it in the eyes of the Sunni Arabs murdering their Yazidi neighbors. ISIS is an expression of the murderous hate within Islam. We are not only at war with an acronym, but with the dark hatred in the hearts of men, some of whom are in Iraq and Pakistan. And some of whom live next door. [Emphasis mine]

The release of the video came a day after IS militants threatened to attack US targets in another video where they warned "we will drown all of you in blood".

“A Message to America” is meant to evoke revulsion, to taunt and intimidate.

Arlette Saenz and Jonathan Karl of ABC News report that The White House had been aware of the threat to kill Foley prior to the video’s release but The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer partied on at an engagement party for MSNBC host Alex Wagner.

Today the president, in a bland, meaningless ritualism spoke at a new conference saying, “the entire world is appalled by the brutal murder of Jim Foley by the terrorist group ISIL” He continued, “Jim Foley’s life stands in stark contrast to his killers. Let’s be clear about ISIL. They have rampaged across cities and villages killing innocent, unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence. They abduct women and children and subject them to torture and rape and slavery. They have murdered Muslims, both Sunni and Shia, by the thousands. They target Christians and religious minorities, driving them from their homes, murdering them when they can, for no other reason than they practice a different religion.”

“They declared their ambition to commit genocide against an ancient people. So ISIL speaks for no religion. Their victims are overwhelmingly Muslim, and no faith teaches people to massacre innocents. No just god would stand for what they did yesterday and what they do every single day. ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings. Their ideology is bankrupt. They may claim out of expediency that they are at war with the United States or the West, but the fact is they terrorize their neighbors and offer them nothing but an endless slavery to their empty vision and the collapse of any definition of civilized behavior.”

Contrast those remarks to those of President Bush when a video was released in February 2002 by a Pakistani group that beheaded Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl:
Laura and I, and the American people, are deeply saddened to learn about the loss of Daniel Pearl's life.  And we're really sad for his wife and his parents, and his friends and colleagues, who have been clinging to hope for weeks that he be found alive.  We are especially sad for his unborn child, who will now know his father only through the memory of others.
All Americans are sad and angry to learn of the murder.  All around the world, American journalists and humanitarian aid workers and diplomats and others do important work in places that are sometimes dangerous.  Those who would threaten Americans, those who would engage in criminal, barbaric acts, need to know that these crimes only hurt their cause and only deepen the resolve of the United States of America to rid to world of these agents of terror.  May God bless Daniel Pearl.
De Mortuis Nihil Nisi Bonum

Will the savage death of Foley open the eyes of liberal apologists?

According to Daniel Greenfield and Bare Naked Islam, “Foley came to Syria to support the Sunni Islamist rebels against the Syrian government. He often voiced his disdain for Mitt Romney.  He didn’t travel to report on a story, but to promote an agenda, a parallax view if you will, that was obvious from his Twitter feed.”  No other reporters, it would appear, bothered to read through his timeline.  Mr. Greenfield included many of those tweets in his post and here are two that demonstrate his political leanings:

UPDATE:  According to the White House travel pool, The World's Most Dangerous Community Organizer arrived at Vineyard Golf Club at 1:05 p.m., following his statement on the Foley beheading.

Johnny F-U Ball

Yesterday I was going to put up a post about the preseason game between the Cleveland Browns and the team whose name shall not be mentioned.

Usually when I create a graphic suitable for a football post, I have the two team mascots pictured in front of the stadium where the game will be played.  I couldn’t go with that idea for last night’s game because the team whose name shall not be mentioned no longer has a mascot, at least not a politically correct one.  I ditched the idea and didn’t post anything.

For the purposes of full disclosure, I grew up pulling for any team other than the team whose name shall not be mentioned.  Despite the fact that I am not a fan, I was going to root for Washington because I loathe a certain arrogant smart ass.

Back in February Barry Switzer, former head coach for Oklahoma and the Dallas Cowboys, said this about the immature, polarizing player:

"I'm gonna tell you. I said Johnny Manziel is…I don't like his antics. I think he's an arrogant little prick.  I've said that and I'll say it again. He's a privileged kid, he's embarrassed himself, he's embarrassed his teammates, his program. He's embarrassed his coach. And they'll all have to defend him because they have to coach. I know that. I spent 40 years in the damn game so I know how it works."

Linebacker Brian Orakpo and the rest of the Redskins bench were having a little fun with the rookie.  At one point in the first quarter, Orakpo celebrated a teammate’s sack of the little snot by showing off his imitation of Manziel’s “money gesture”.  After forcing the Browns to punt, Orakpo stopped near the yard marker in front of the Redskins sideline and again gave the money sign.

With 2:28 left in the third quarter, Manziel threw an incomplete pass.  A few words from the Redskins bench were hurled at him.  As he walked back the huddle all butthurt, he flipped them off.  The gesture was caught on national TV.

The Browns lost the game 24-23 and Manziel is expected to draw an $11,025 fine for his gesture.

"It did not sit well," Browns coach Mike Pettine said. "I was informed of it after the game and it's disappointing. Because what we talk about is being poised and being focused—that you have to be able to maintain your poise."

"That's a big part of all football players, especially the quarterback, that we have to keep our composure," Pettine said. "So that's something that we'll obviously address with him."

Asked in his postgame news conference if he thought it was wrong, Manziel smiled before laughing.

“I felt like I did a good job of holding my composure throughout the night, and you have a lapse of judgment and slip up.  I mean, I didn't think it was positive," Manziel said, before adding he couldn't blame it on distractions, repeating he had simply lost his composure.

Better get used to it little man.  Welcome to the NFL.

NFL Preseason Week 2: Kansas City Chiefs Vs Carolina Panthers

Today Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton is going to ditch his red jersey and play in his first live-game action against the Kansas City Chiefs.  The hope is that he can play until halftime without running too much on his surgically repaired left ankle.

The game will air on Fox at 8:00PM from Bank of America Stadium.  There’s one other game today.  It pits Denver against San Francisco.  That game kicks off at 4:00PM on the NFL Network.

The oddsmakers give KC a 3-point edge to win 27-24.  I hope they’re wrong.  And as for my friends Proof and Woodsterman, I love you guys but I can’t stand your quarterback.  I’m rootin’ for the Broncos.

Because no football post is complete without some pom-poms, please enjoy this pic of Top Cat Madelyn who is far and away much prettier than the floozy Proof picked to post at his site IYKWIMAITYD.

The Town Drunk Vs The Governor

In April 2013, Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg was arrested after a witness called 911, describing her as driving erratically, swerving back and forth into the bike lane, and into oncoming traffic. Officers at the scene reportedly found an open bottle of vodka in her car, and a blood sample obtained later that evening purportedly showed a blood alcohol level of 0.239—almost three times the legal limit—even that many hours later.

While serving a 45-day sentence in the Travis County Jail, Lehmberg wrote a letter filled with contrition that almost makes you feel sorry for her.  Almost, but not quite.  I’ll skip the bullshit parts and move straight to the part that is the most revealing.
There are three things I want you to know.
First and foremost, I take the offense of driving while intoxicated seriously. There are hundreds of reasons that lead up to a single event in our lives but no excuse for driving while intoxicated.
Secondly, upon my release, I will continue to seek professional help and guidance.  I know that I need help understanding and treating the cause of this behavior. For that reason, I am making arrangements for further professional assessments and pledge to follow all recommended treatment as soon as I have served my jail term.  [Emphasis mine]
And, third, I must deal with the civil issues facing me.  Some of that situation is out of my hands. But I can assure you I will address the issues in a forthright and honest manner.
From January 2012 until the time of her arrest (April 2013) little Rosie made 59 purchases of alcohol at various Twin Liquors stores, a rate of nearly one purchase a week.

She bought 76 bottles of alcohol. According to the receipts, Lehmberg prefers Ciroc vodka.  She routinely purchased 1.75 liter bottles of vodka, at a price of nearly $60 each.  On occasion, she bought more than one 1.75 liter bottle of Ciroc at a time.

Those 76 bottles add up to 24.7 gallons of alcohol purchased over 15 months. The last purchase in the KEYE-compiled list was on April 2, 2013—10 days before her arrest for drunk driving, and the subsequent attempt to abuse her power by trying to intimidate the officers who processed her in jail. Lehmberg purchased vodka on that day. An open bottle of vodka was found in her car during her arrest.

After serving her jail sentence, the drunkard DA returned to her office and refused to step down. Gov. Perry announced that he would veto a bill that funded the Public Integrity Unit, a division over which Lehmberg was supervisor, unless she stepped down because he felt that she had lost the public’s trust. Later he followed through and did veto the bill.

On Friday a grand jury indicted Perry on two charges related to his effort last year to force Lehmberg to resign after her drunken driving arrest charging him with abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public servant, a third-degree felony. The first charge carries a punishment of 5-99 years and a fine of up to $10,000. The second charge is punishable by 2-10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.

Texas law clearly grants the governor the power to veto funding for the Public Integrity Unit and many other agencies, but Democrats supporting Lehmberg ain’t havin’ none of that.  Can you say lawfare?

The Travis County District Attorney’s office has a long history of politically-motivated prosecutions, including the 2005 indictment of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay for alleged campaign finance violations. DeLay’s convictions were completely overturned and he was acquitted after an appeal to the Third District Texas Court of Appeals in 2013—too late to save his political career.

While things are a bit dicey for Perry, a shitstorm of legal troubles continue for the town drunk.  According to the Texas Lawyer website an ethics complaint was filed against her last week, accusing her of failing to properly report on her campaign finance reports the source of the more than $227,000 in attorney fees she paid to her defense counsel.

I’ll conclude this post with Ace’s hilarious Top Five True Medical Facts About a 0.238 Blood Alcohol Content:
5. In medical terminology, 0.238 BAC is midway between "Fraternity Hazing Drunk" and "Drinking to Forget It All Drunk"
4. At 0.238 BAC, you are not charged with Driving Under the Influence; you are charged with Sleeping In Motion
3. If you stacked up all the shot glasses needed to get you to a 0.238 BAC, they would reach all the way from the floor to one inch above the floor, because they all fell down already, because you're fucking drunk and really shouldn't be stacking things made of glass
2. If you attempt to evade arrest with a 0.238 BAC, and you succeed for at least 20 minutes, the cops give you a Fucking Medal right there on the spot
1. At 0.238 Blood Alcohol Content, the human body begins spontaneously generating olives.
By the way, this is all being completely misinterpreted. Governor Perry's veto threat was an attempt at an Intervention. It was cosponsored by Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Now Is The Summer Of Our Discontent

On Saturday August 9, 2014 Ferguson police received a call about a robbery at a convenience store.  The police dispatcher gave a description of the robber and informed the responding officer that the suspect was walking toward the Quick Trip.

At 12:01PM, the officer saw Michael Brown and Dorian Johnson walking along the street where the dispatcher reported the suspects were last seen.  When the officer questioned the suspects, according to the Ferguson Police Department, Brown reached for the officer’s gun.  One shot was fired inside the police car and several other rounds were fired outside the car.

Little else was known for six days except what Dorian Johnson, Brown’s accomplice in the robbery, was telling the media.  Johnson’s description of the confrontation fueled a week of turmoil in Ferguson and an outcry from across the nation when he said his friend "never once attempted to grab for the officer's weapon."  According to Johnson, Officer Wilson said, “I’ll shoot.”  Brown ran putting his hands up in surrender but the officer “kept firing.”  “It was horrible to watch.  It was definitely like being shot like an animal.”

After Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson’s clumsy press conference, the calm that the little town had experienced the day before was shattered.

The family of Michael Brown released a statement saying they are "beyond outraged" by how the information was released in a way to "assassinate the character of their son," tying him to the robbery.

Much has been made of the “militarization” of police in Ferguson, but there were abundant reasons for law enforcement to anticipate the maelstrom that would follow the appearance of Chawn Saddam Kweli, purported “four-star general” of the New Black Panther Party, who had posted “live Battle Reports” on his Facebook and Twitter accounts:
STOP TALKING TO ME ABOUT GOTDAMN MARSHALL LAW AND FEMA COFFINS IF THE PEOPLE BUST BACK FOR STATE SANCTIONED MURDER .. GATDAMMIT .. YOU TALKING LIKE A LOSER IF ANYTHING PREPARE AND IF NEED BE PUT AS MANY AGGRESSORS IN THE COFFINS THEY PICKED OUT FOR YOU IN SELF DEFENSE .. DON'T BE A PUNK IN THIS HOUR THIS IS THE HOUR ALL THE GREATS PROMISED .. AND IF YOU DIE ..DIE LIKE A WARRIOR
I'LL SEE YOU ON THE GROUND
On Tuesday, August 12th, notorious race baiter Al Sharptongue arrived in St. Louis.  He preceded the arrival of the nation’s other infamous racial agitator, Jesse Jackson, by three days.  With Jackson “on the ground” Sharptongue applauded the release of the officer’s name who was involved in Brown’s death noting that they shouldn’t obscure the fact that there are many more hurdles in the coming days. “We haven’t even had the funeral” for Brown, he said. “What happens when these kids see their friend laying in the casket? I’ve been through this more than one time. We’re not out of the emotions because we all of a sudden had a good night of marching.”

On Friday, mush-mouth Jackson likened the fatal shooting of Michael Brown by a police officer to a “state execution.”

“How many times was he shot?” Jackson asked on MSNBC, in a series of rhetorical questions about Brown. “And where was he shot? And why was he lying in the street for several hours? That was kind of a state execution.”

When self-interested agitators like Sharpton and Jackson rush to the scene of unrest, they do so explicitly to exploit racial sentiment and fan the flames with their malevolent political leadership.

Fault must also be laid squarely at the feet of the race-obsessed press who give these charlatans a platform for their hostilities.  I contend that if the media would refrain from Livestreaming the riots 24/7 and sticking a microphone in the faces of these Black Grievance Industry advocates and training cameras on them they would disappear from sight because the vehicle for spinning Brown’s demise into a business opportunity would also vanish.

The life and teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr. are being rejected at the hands of the Black Grievance Industry Complex; the NAACP, The Congressional Black Caucus, Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition and Al Sharptongue’s NAN.  We, as a nation, have descended into madness; a predatory culture that radiates a near sociopathic lack of interest in or responsibility for others and mesmerized the illiterate.

Darren Wilson, President of the Ethical Society of Police Identified as Ferguson Shooter (Updated: Wrong Darren Wilson)

Darren Wilson, six year veteran of the police force and president of the Ethical Society of Police has been identified as the Ferguson shooter in a press conference held by Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson.

Most news outlets covering this story declined to state Darren Wilson's race, as should be expected, this was not about race but about criminal activity. Perhaps the race hustlers in the White House will take note of the fact, that this was and is a police matter for local and state authorities to resolve and to ascertain the guilt or innocence of anyone involved. This did not require the president of the United States to comport himself as an ambulance chasing lawyer, taking sides before all the facts were in.

The moral of this story: If you are going to drag yourself away from your golf game, Mr. President, at least let it be to turn your attention to some national or worldwide crisis begging for your attention. Let Al Sharpton , Jesse Jackson and Eric Holder fall out of the clown car of race baiters. You sir, should rise above it.

Update: I am getting feedback that this is the wrong Darren Wilson. Will issue full correction after I can verify. According to Ethical Society of Police website, Sgt. Wilson is a St. Louis police officer, not Ferguson.

Update II: According to CNN, the Darren Wilson involved in the shooting was white. Like the groundhog seeing his shadow, expect the racebaiting, poverty pimp vultures to circle for the next six weeks.

Although my earlier source on the officer's race was wrong, I stand by what I wrote: This is not about race but about criminal activity. Actions have consequences.

Rhetorical Sleight of Hand on Ferguson from the Weasel-in-Chief

By Proof

Obama issued a statement about the "heartbreaking loss" of Michael Brown. He followed that up in a speech:
"Of course, it’s important to remember how this started. We lost a young man, Michael Brown, in heartbreaking and tragic circumstances. He was 18 years old. His family will never hold Michael in their arms again."
If this guy Obama was my butcher, I'd tell him to get his thumb off the scale while he's weighing my rib roast. "Heartbreaking", "tragic", "His family will never hold Michael in their arms again." Another case for your consideration: an elderly gentleman gunned down in his home without warning. Those who loved him would undoubtedly see this as "heartbreaking", and "tragic". And I can assure you, that his family will never hold Usama bin Laden in their arms again!

You see what I did there? More importantly, did you see what Obama did there? Staying true to form, Obama draws his conclusions without the necessity of waiting for the the benefit of any facts. This guy Michael Brown may have been an A-student choir boy, or just some thug resisting arrest. We don't know. While to his parents it's heart breaking, if this guy was terrorizing his neighborhood, then his death was far from "tragic" for his victims. Would it hurt the man who dithered for six years not approving the Keystone pipeline, to wait at least as many days before pontificating over the character of a man he did not know? Who died under circumstances yet to be determined? Or, at the very least, to use the neutral language of a statesman instead of emotionally charged weasel words, until after all the facts are in?

Assuming that Michael Brown falls somewhere in the spectrum between beloved Robin Williams, whose family will never hold him in their arms again, and Usama bin Laden, whose family will never hold him in their arms again, why should the president of the United States, who never seems to be able to find the time to perform the actual duties of his office, interject himself into racially charged local matter with emotionally charged language that could inflame those already given to riot and disorder?

Obama claims to "be a better speechwriter than his speech writers". Shall we infer then, that it was his intent to use such dishonest, emotionally charged rhetoric to subtly maintain the inflamed passions that sparked the looting and civil unrest of Ferguson, MO? Before you tug our heartstrings with the tale of a poor, elderly man gunned down in his home, whose family will never hold him in their arms again, tell us of the 3,000+ Americans he killed in a single day. Context is everything.

Next time, Mr. President, make the "gutsy call" to get all the facts before you weigh in on subjects both above and below your pay grade. Your followers will not hold you accountable, but history will.
