Trey Gowdy: The Rob Porter Chronology Is Not Favorable For The White House

House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy said today on CNN’s “New Day” he launched an investigation last night into how and why Rob Porter was allowed to work at the White House.

Alisyn Camerota, as you have come to expect from any CNN host, was combative with Gowdy.  He managed to shut down her flame-throwing in short order as you will see in the embedded video below.

"You can call it official. You can call it unofficial," Gowdy told CNN. "I'm going to direct questions to the FBI that I expect them to answer. And if they don't answer them, then they're going to need to give me a really good reason."

"The chronology is not favorable for the White House," Gowdy said, adding that he can't understand how Porter, the former staff secretary who resigned last week amid domestic abuse allegations from both of his ex-wives, remained employed. 

"If you knew it in 2017, and the Bureau briefed them three times, then how in the hell was he still employed? The security clearance issue is a separate issue. How do you have any job if you have credible allegations of domestic abuse?

"I think the really fair questions are, what were you told, by whom were you told it, did you have some reason to question what the Bureau told you and if none of that is true, why did you keep him on?" Gowdy said.

In another segment on the same morning show, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was confronted by Chris Cuomo about Porter’s security clearance.

"The White House has been clear about that," said Jordan. "I don't know what kind of access Mr. Porter had to certain information, but I think that's something that needs to be corrected moving forward, and I believe it will be with this White House."

Jordan then shifted the topic to the ongoing questions over the FBI's techniques in securing a FISA warrant against former Trump aide Carter Page, which enraged Cuomo.

"To compare it to the FBI doing what they did, taking a campaign document, dressing it all up as legitimate intelligence and presenting it to a FISA court, a secret court…"

Cuomo told him it is not fair to call the FISA court a "secret" operation, but Jordan asked if he'd ever seen a transcript from the court.

"That's why I called on Director Christopher Wray months ago. Show us the application. Show us the transcript. I'm for making everything transparent, including the Democratic memo when done with our sources and methods."

Bloody Fingerprints On The Wall

Sean Smith’s mother is still waiting to hear from Hillary Clinton three years after she and the president presided over a transfer of remains ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base on September 14, 2012.

Appearing on CNN’s Newsroom, Pat Smith told anchor Carol Costello that Clinton told her the death of her son was due to a video and that “she would get back to me and tell me what happened to my son.  She has not only not gotten back to me, but all I’ve ever heard is that I am not to know because I am not a member of the immediate family.  I still want to know.  I saw on TV the bloody fingerprints on the walls over there.  I asked specifically, are those my son’s fingerprints crawling down the wall, the bloody fingerprints?  Nobody ever got back to me on that.  Are those his fingerprints?  Were those his fingerprints?  What happened?  Somebody’s got to tell me from the government.”

The American people and this grieving mother have a right to know what Hillary’s role in formulating the U.S. response to the Benghazi attack was.  Rather than the president busily contacting YouTube™ to decide which video to blame for the coldblooded killing of four Americans did either of them consider retaliation for the attack or order our forces to try to rescue them?  

While the long knives are out for Trey Gowdy and the Select Committee on Benghazi, Gowdy addressed his critics saying, “The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is more than a rote phrase.  It should be the guiding principle of a serious investigation."

"Perhaps our critics could live without the 41 new witnesses, seven eyewitnesses, 50,000 new documents and emails from the secretary of State and Ambassador Stevens. We could not. We will keep working until the last fact is uncovered.”

I think Sean Smith’s mother can rest assured that Hillary and the president will not be shielded by America’s willful political amnesia.

She Cackles Like A Witch

The Ice Cube In Heels thinks she’s going to breeze through the debacle called Benghazi which, in another more just time, would have her in an orange jumpsuit. 

Why is she laughing?  What is wrong with this woman?  Does she think that everyone within the sound of her voice is on government medication?

An American ambassador is dead.  His residence was burned to the ground. Three other Americans are dead. 

To all the press poodles and sycophants of the Progressive Left saying the Benghazi hearing is a witch hunt, we say FOUND HER.

The Ice Cube In Heels Tries “Angry Ice Cube” On For Size

During a “picturesque Potemkin Village pancake breakfast” with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie in Hollis, New Hampshire, The Ice Cube In Heels feigned indignation [beginning at vid mark 5:45] over a question regarding the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

“Look at the situation they chose to exploit, to go after me for political reasons: the death of four Americans in Benghazi. I knew the ambassador. I identified him. I asked him to go there. I asked the president to nominate him.  This committee was set up, as they have admitted, for the purpose of making a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans. I would have never done that,” said The Now-Angry Ice Cube In Heels.

She went on to say, “If I was the president and there were Republicans or Democrats who were thinking about that I would have done everything to shut it down.”

Sounds like she was taking a dig at The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer doesn’t it?  What the Ice Cube failed to mention in her outburst was that she failed to protect the very ambassador she “knew” and “identified”.  It was she who falsely claimed that a YouTube™ video triggered the attack that killed the ambassador she “knew” and it was she who sent Susan Rice to go on five Sunday talk shows and knowingly lie about the death of the ambassador she “knew”.  Oh, and most importantly, she didn’t say a peep about the Select Committee’s discovery of her private email server.

A colossal blunder by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy recently gave Clinton the opportunity to try the witch hunt card again by claiming that the Benghazi Select Committee had diminished her political ambitions.

In a published report from The Hill, we are told that Democrats on the Benghazi Committee are “now running a protection effort for the former Secretary.”  They released portions of a secret transcript containing the testimony of Clinton aide and confidante Cheryl Mills and threatened to release the full transcript via a letter to Chairman Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy spokesman Jamal Ware said of the Democrats’ actions today, “It is one thing to merely sit idly by while others do serious work, it is quite another to attempt to undercut their work with selective leaks in violation of House Rules.”

Ed Klein, author of “Unlikeable:  The Problem With Hillary”, wrote that Hillary is vulnerable but is acting as though the trouble she’s in is merely a political smear job by right-wing zealots.

He also notes that a Clinton confidante of 30 years has repeatedly advised her that “this FBI email investigation could go in a very dangerous direction very quickly” and that she should “lawyer up.”  “There is going to be blood in the water.  The investigators are looking for weak links to get to the bottom of what went on with Hillary’s national security emails and I’m afraid they will find it.”

Ambassador Chris Stevens could not be reached for comment.

Trey Gowdy: A Lion To Lead Them

On Friday, Twitchy erupted in a call to fire John Boehner and draft SC Republican Trey Gowdy as Speaker of the House.  As of this posting there are 2,396 signatures on the website Petition2Congress to remove Boehner and replace him with the fierce Gowdy.

Conservatives are angry at Boehner for playing footsie with Democrats and spearheading the passage of the $1.1 trillion CRomnibus bill—a complicated 1600-page bill designed to prevent another government shutdown.  The bill passed by a relatively narrow margin, 219-206. Only 67 House Republicans voted no. Boehner wasn’t one of them.

Bills like CRomnibus, crafted in darkness and presented as must-pass legislation, allow the special interests to get what they want. A free and open debate on these issues is what this country needs.
