Ten days after President Trump was inaugurated a bobcat escaped
its enclosure at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC. The feline freedom seeker was one of the last
hopes in a world gone rotten. A perfect
mascot for a city of cubicled, uptight bureaucrats yearning to be free.
So captivated by the story was Comfortably Smug of Twitter
fame that he launched a “President Bobcat” campaign. His minions “swarmed” with approval at the
novel idea.

The release yesterday of the Horowitz Report is a
triumph for former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes who first
blew the whistle on FISA abuse and excoriated Rep. Adam Schiff for his memo
which stated FBI and DOJ officials did not abuse the FISA process. Schiff had access to the same documents Nunes
did yet he chose to misinform the American public.
According to the report, there were
17 separate problems with submissions to the FISA Court including the FBI’s
overstatement of Christopher Steele’s credentials and failure to provide the
court with exculpatory evidence.
Horowitz laid out facts demonstrating “extensive
compliance failures” overstating some information, omitting vital information
and “cherry-picking” certain details—a clear case of the Surveillance State and
The Swamp at work.
As “purr” President Bobcat’s warning, “The next Democrat
elected President will be impeached.”

On January 4th of this
year, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee
and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), senior member of the Committee, delivered a
letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher
Wray referring Trump dossier author Christopher Steele for criminal
investigation for lying to federal authorities. To support the referral, they
attached documentation showing direct communications between the British spy
and “multiple U.S. news outlets”.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA),
ranking member of the Committee, slammed
the referral claiming it contains “numerous flaws and omits facts.”She also contends the Grassley/Graham letter
attempts to “undermine the FBI and cast aspersions on Special Counsel Mueller’s
investigation.”
One name recently
linked to the dossier is Daniel Jones, a former investigator for Sen. Feinstein
when she chaired the Senate Intelligence Committee.
Soon after reports of
the Grassley/Graham letter emerged, Joe DiGenova began warning the public about
“the weaponization of the FBI for political purposes by all the people at the
upper echelon of the Bureau.”
DiGenova is not a
nobody.In 1992, he was appointed
Independent Counsel in the Clinton Passport File Search matter.As United States Attorney, District of
Columbia, he supervised federal criminal and civil matters including public
corruption, espionage, fraud and international terrorism. He led the
prosecution of Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard. He was the Principal
Assistant U.S. Attorney during the prosecution of attempted Reagan assassin,
John Hinckley. He has also served as Chief Counsel and Staff Director of the
Senate Rules Committee and Counsel to the Senate Judiciary, Governmental
Affairs and Select Intelligence Committees.
About the
“weaponization” of the FBI; it’s important to keep in mind the following

Obama’s Attorney
General, Eric Holder left the Department of Justice on September 25, 2014.The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer
appointed former President Bill Clinton’s nominee for U.S. Attorney for the
Eastern District of New York, Loretta Lynch, to replace Holder as AG.Lynch was confirmed on April 23, 2015.A month-and-a-half later, Donald Trump
announced his candidacy for president on June 16, 2015.
During Lynch’s
confirmation hearings she generally defended the president’s policies but did
say she viewed the role of the Justice Department as being an independent
constitutional authority whose clients are the American people, not the
president or Congress. I needn’t remind you she scandalously met with Bill
Clinton on the tarmac at the Phoenix airport on June 30, 2016.
Lynch, at the time,
painted an innocent portrait of their curious conversation. “Our conversation
was a great deal about grandchildren, it was primarily social about our travels
and he mentioned golf he played in Phoenix.”
Back to DiGenova.He ominously began
speaking out about the shenanigans at the FBI after the release of the
Grassley/Graham letter.
"This is the worst
period in the history of the bureau─much worse than the late [J. Edgar] Hoover
period when they were spying on domestic groups. This was the weaponization of
the FBI for political purposes by all the people at the upper echelon of the
bureau."
"There is enough
evidence on the public record with the information from the Inspector General
and from The Hill with the legal release of documents, that it is clear Mr. McCabe
and others engaged in highly improper, probably illegal activity in the FISA
court stuff along with the dossier from Christopher Steele."
"This is a dark
moment for the FBI," DiGenova declared. "It's gonna to take a lot for
them to recover from this. Comey was a dirty cop and unfortunately he dirtied
up everybody else around him," DiGenova concluded.
In his May 2017
testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, former CIA Director John
Brennan emphatically denied the dossier factored into the Intelligence Community’s
publicly released conclusion last year that Russia meddled in the 2016 election
"to help Trump’s chances of victory.”He also swore he did not know who commissioned the dossier even though
officials at the DOJ and FBI knew it had been paid for by Hillary Clinton’s
campaign.
House Intelligence
Committee Chairman Devin Nunes plans
to release a separate report detailing the Obama State Department’s role in
creating and disseminating the dossier─which has emerged as the foundation of
the Obama Administration's Russia “collusion” investigation. Among other
things, the report will identify diplomats who worked with partisan operatives
close to Hillary to help ex-British spy Christopher Steele compile the
dossier.
Nunes will focus on
Brennan as well as Obama’s first CIA director, Leon Panetta, along with
the former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and National
Security Adviser Susan Rice as well as UN Ambassador Samantha Power.
According to Real
Clear Investigations, several Capitol Hill sources say “Brennan was a
fiercely loyal Obama appointee who talked up the dossier to Democratic leaders,
as well as the press during the campaign. They say he also fed allegations
about Trump-Russia contacts directly to the FBI, while pressuring the Bureau to
conduct an investigation of several Trump campaign figures starting in the
summer of 2016.”
Just weeks before Trump
was inaugurated, investigators say Brennan made certain the contents of the
dossier were attached to Obama’s Presidential Daily Briefing. The contents of
the PDB were then leaked to the media.
Brennan later swore the
dossier did not “in any way” factor into the CIA's assessment that Russia
interfered in the election to help Trump. However, congressional investigators
suggest a still-classified version of the January 2017 intelligence report
contradicts his claim.
"I'm pretty troubled
by what I read in the documents with respect to the role the State Department
played in the fall of 2016, including information that was used in a court
proceeding. I am troubled by it," said Rep. Trey Gowdy, a member of the
House Intelligence Committee.
Last week, perhaps not
coincidentally, Brennan signed a
contract with NBC News and MSNBC to be their “senior national security and
intelligence analyst.”
Early Thursday
morning, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes issued a
statement (his statement is shown on the above graphic) saying he was stepping
aside as chairman due to an investigation being launched by the House Ethics
Committee.
The probe into
Russian “meddling” in the 2016 presidential election will be taken over by
Reps. Michael Conaway (R-TX), Trey Gowdy (R-SC) and Tom Rooney (R-FL).
Rep. Mike Conaway, a
Republican, will take Nunes's position as chairman of the House Permanent
Select Committee on Intelligence as the Ethics Committee begins its probe.
Chairwoman and Ranking Mamber, Susan Brooks (R-IN),
released the following statement:
The Committee is aware of public
allegations that Representative Devin Nunes may have made unauthorized disclosures of classified
information, in violation of House Rules, law, regulations, or other
standards of conduct. The Committee, pursuant to Committee Rule 18(a), is
investigating and gathering more information regarding these allegations.
The Committee has determined to
investigate these allegations in order to fulfill its institutional obligation,
under House Rule X, clause 11(g)(4), to investigate certain allegations of
unauthorized disclosures of classified information, and to determine if there
has been any violation of the Code of Official Conduct under House Rule XXIII,
clause 13. The Committee notes that the mere fact that it is
investigating these allegations, and publicly disclosing its review, does not
itself indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on
behalf of the Committee.
In order to comply with Committee Rule 7 regarding
confidentiality, out of fairness to all respondents, and to assure the
integrity of its work, the Committee will refrain from making further public
statements on this matter pending completion of its initial review.
The 18a
investigation, as it’s known, has subpoena power and may also look into what
Nunes told Speaker Paul Ryan and President Trump when he briefed them following
his March 22 press conference.
During that press
conference Nunes said, “I have seen intelligence reports that clearly show
that the president-elect and his team were, I guess, at least monitored. It looks
to me like it was all legally collected, but it was essentially a lot of
information on the president-elect and his transition team and what they were
doing.”
Democrats became
apoplectic and alleged Nunes was acting like a presidential pawn. One truly unhinged lefty website went so far
as to say, “Nunes openly mishandled classified information in an attempt to
shield President Trump from an investigation into his potentially treasonous
collusion with agents of a hostile foreign power to subvert our democratic
system, yet we hear not a peep from those on the right.”
A hometown newspaper
for Rep. Conaway may have given us a clue into at least one Democrat
responsible for filing this ridiculous complaint with the Ethics Committee.
The
Texas Tribune
notes, “Nunes' tenure during the investigation was deeply troubled. Most committee
Democrats, including US Rep. Joaquin Castro of San Antonio, called on
him to step down from that role after a series of unorthodox meetings and
communications with White House officials.”
McClatchy
DC revealed the names of the Alinskyite scumbags who filed
the complaint:
The liberal group MoveOn.org Civic Action previously filed a federal ethics complaint on March 28
with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Nunes. In his statement
Thursday, Nunes did not specify which of what he called “several leftwing
activist groups” he was responding to.
Nunes also acted a day after two groups, Democracy 21 and
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, filed a complaint with the Office of
Congressional Ethics alleging that Nunes had improperly made public
confidential information.
Democrats may have just outfoxed themselves. Their nightmare scenario came to pass when Susan
Rice admitted to MSNBC’s
Andrea Mitchell that she DID
unmask names and now they’ve got a ravenous tiger in Trey Gowdy taking up the
gauntlet of getting to the truth. You
can almost hear them pissing their pants.
Back in
February The Washington Post unveiled
its new slogan “Democracy dies in darkness” when the paper began being referred
to as “the fake news media” by President Trump along with The New York Times and CNN.
Democracy dies in
darkness all right; the media is trying to strangle it in an unlit alley.
These same media outlets which were
quick to report on possible collusion betweenTrump’s
campaign and Russia are now slow to say how The World’s Most Dangerous
Community Organizer’s administration may have legally but unethically spied onTrump’s
campaign.
Like a juggler trying
to keep three balls in the air, the “Russiagate” scandal has three scenarios
the press is desperate to keep aloft: the
question of whether the Russians somehow “hacked our election”, whether any
Trump people “colluded” with the Russians and whether anyone in Obama's
administration used our intelligence apparatus to spy on political opponents.
The Drudge Report™ headlined its webpage with “Rice Ordered Spy
Docs On Trump” with a link to The Daily Caller which published a report at 10:08 PM
Monday night exposing Obama’s national security advisor, Susan Rice, for
“ordering US spy agencies to produce detailed spreadsheets of legal phone
calls” involving candidate Trump and his aides according to former US Attorney
Joseph diGenova. diGenova further notes,
“The overheard conversations involved no illegal activity by any of Trump’s
associates, or anyone they were speaking with.
In short, the only apparent illegal activity was the unmasking of the
people on the calls.”
diGenova tweeted in
February, “What’s happening here is a coup d’état…This is designed to create
the atmospherics for an impeachment.”
This exploding
scandal constitutes a serious abuse of privacy and raises troubling questions
about the use of intelligence operations for political purposes. And for Rice to pull a “Sgt. Schultz” saying,
“I know nothing about
this”
is nothing short of farcical.
Things come apart so easily when they have been held
together with lies.
The
ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, has
vigorously searched for proof to support the Dem narrative on Russiagate. At one point, Schiff was convinced he had
Trump and the Republicans on the ropes.
Now, not so much. Why?

House counsel Don McGahn invited ol’ Schiffty to see the documents House
Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes had been shown.
Kurt Schlicter
published a rant at Townhall
describing the Democrat Party as “less a political organization than a
disorganized crime ring…They’re dumb, but they're not so stupid as not to
realize that this Putin nonsense, manufactured as a pathetic excuse for their
utter humiliation in November, is falling apart. With the help of their media
minions, they hope if they keep shouting “Look, Russians!” we’ll grow so bored
we’ll just tune out. It’s their only hope for keeping Obama’s buddies off the
chopping block.”
Chuck Schumer is
arrogant, overbearing and self-assured.
Yesterday the senator from the Great State of New York pronounced to the
entire world Attorney General Jeff Sessions should resign his post in the Trump
Administration as head of the Department of Justice.
"There cannot be
even the scintilla of doubt about the impartiality and fairness of the attorney
general, the top law enforcement official of the land," Schumer said.
"Because the Department of Justice should be above reproach, for the good
of the country Attorney General Sessions should resign."
With those words, Schumer
didn't just dig himself a hole, he stole a backhoe, dug a really deep hole,
drove the backhoe into the hole, wired the backhoe with explosives and blew it
up.
Relying on published
reports from The Washington Post and The New York Times was an intellectually
bankrupt approach given the fact the pages of The New York Times was the cheering section for one of the 20th
Century’s most murderous dictators. Few
readers today will remember Walter
Duranty; the man history has catalogued as the sycophantic apologist for
Josef Stalin’s genocide in the Ukraine.
He covered Stalin’s show trials of his enemies in the 1930s as if the
trials were legitimate and dismissed out-of-hand his many thousands of
executions and purges. Duranty was
typical of those who look for wickedness in the wrong place and cannot see it
at the end of their noses.
Schumer’s beef
concerns two meetings then-Senator Jeff Sessions had with Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s
ambassador to the United States.
As I
noted yesterday, more than 30 Democrat senators met with Russian diplomats
and foreign officials from the Middle East.
Since then The
Daily Caller discovered Visitor Logs showing Ambassador Kislyak visited
the White House at least 22 times between 2009 and 2016 during the reign of
Teleprompter Jesus.
Also emerging
yesterday was a photograph of Kislyak attending President Trump’s address to
the Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
Lynch had contended
that she and Bill Clinton merely discussed grandchildren, golf and social
matters.
"She's an
honorable person, we know that," Schumer said. "She has said nothing
was discussed related to the investigation. So you have two choicesto
say this didn't matter or she's lying. I think it didn't matter. I don't
think she's lying."
What would the good
senator say if Attorney General Sessions had met with Vladimir Putin?

Zakharova’s weekly briefing in Moscow on Thursday, but asked no questions at
the session itself about a fresh report by CNN, which said “current and
former US intelligence officials have described Kislyak as a top spy and
recruiter of spies.”
Shortly after the
noon hour yesterday, the Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes
(R-CA) cautioned reporters to “be careful what you ask for” during a discussion
of FBI phone records implying reporters themselves or “other Americans” could
become the target of congressional investigations should phone records implicate
them.
“…for example, [if] you were on the phone with
the Russian ambassador and somehow your phone call got recorded, would you want
them turning over that phone call and that transcript to the committee?” Nunes asked.
“But isn't there a
difference between a call between a private person?” a reporter who is clearly
an intellectual midget countered.
“That's the point
here. General Flynn was a private American citizen,” Nunes said. “Look, I'm sure
some of you are in contact with the Russian embassy, so be careful what you ask
for here because if we start getting transcripts of any of you or any other
Americans talking to the press, then we can – do you want us to conduct an
investigation on you or other Americans because you were talking to the Russian
embassy? I just think we need to be careful.”
