Mexico Pays For The Wall By Becoming The Wall

Headed home aboard Air Force One after his trip to the United Kingdom and France to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, President Trump raised hopes for a deal with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s government to reach a deal that would avert the imposition of tariffs on all products entering the United States from Mexico.

The President announced on Twitter Friday night he had suspended plans to impose tariffs on all goods saying Mexico “has agreed to take strong measures to stem the tide of migration through Mexico and to our southern border.”

The main points of the U.S.-Mexico Joint Declaration, according to the State Department are:
  •         An enforcement “surge” by the Mexican government along its southern border [with Guatemala]
  •         New protocols allowing the United States to immediately return illegals to Mexico where they would await the processing of any asylum claim
  •         Regional efforts to help spur economic growth and development in Central America to dissuade people from trying to illegally reach the U.S.

"Mexico will take unprecedented steps to increase enforcement to curb irregular migration, to include the deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border," read a joint statement issued by the State Department on Friday night.

The agreement states the Mexican government will also take "decisive action" against human smuggling organizations to stop those profiting from the trek to the U.S. border.

The failing New York Times opined, “The deal to avert tariffs President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations.”

Far from being a foreign policy or international economics wonk, I’d be willing to wager the New York Times, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell who have openly criticized the President’s decision to impose tariffs, don’t have a clue regarding the background negotiations that solidified the agreement.

Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo were among the Trump Administration officials involved in the talks while the President was in Europe.

While a candidate for president, Donald Trump threatened to cut off remittances to Mexico, proclaiming that such a move would pressure the Mexican government to cough up “a one-time payment of $5 to 10 billion” for his border wall.  The U.S. government has never tried to put the plan in place.

According to a published report from Mexico News Daily, “Mexicans working abroad, mainly in the United States, sent $33.48 billion to Mexico last year, an increase of 10.5% over the 2017 figure, according to the Bank of México (Banxico).

The remittances were sent in 103.9 million separate transactions, a 6% increase on the 2017 figure, and each one was on average $322 compared to $309 the year before, Banxico data shows.

Almost 98% of remittances were sent by electronic means and just over 94% came from the United States.

The total dollar amount sent to Mexico made remittances the country’s second largest foreign currency earner after auto exports, which totaled around $142 billion.  Bear in mind one U.S. dollar equals $19.62 pesos at the current rate of exchange.

The United States is the world's biggest sender of remittances worldwide, with nearly $135 billion flowing to other countries each year, according to Brion Nazzaro, group compliance director for WorldRemit Corp.

Trump could make use of anti-money laundering regulations to warn banks away from doing business with firms in Mexico.

The use of remittance as a bargaining tool would take an immediate chunk out of Mexico's economy, potentially damage U.S. companies and unintentionally rearrange how digital technology executes payments.

The remittance industry is complex, and it would be difficult to sever any one country, Nazzaro said, though Trump could make use of anti-money laundering regulations to warn banks away from doing business with firms in Mexico.

The logistical challenges involve how funds are transferred. For Western Union or MoneyGram remittances, in which someone wires money via brick and mortar stores, the trail is easier to follow and theoretically easier to shut off because there's a location on each side of the border. But lots of payments are now made through mobile apps, where the origination and destination of the account is less easy to discern.

"What could be classified as a remittance for being cut off is very hard to define," said Richard Crone, a payments consultant. Many digital P-to-P transfers aren't categorized as cross-border transfers because they can involve two U.S. accounts, with one person just happening to be in Mexico. "Does PayPal or Venmo fall in? Does Xoom?," Crone said.

That confusion could actually be good for some companies, Crone said. The impact of "squeezing" one part of the remittance balloon could be explosive for another part of the market.

"For the traditional guys in the business, I'd watch out," Crone said. MoneyGram has more than 16,000 locations in Mexico, while Western Union has more than 10,000.

Since the breakdown of talks in early May, Beijing and Washington have been exchanging sharp words as to which side is to blame for the breakdown in trade talks.

Christine Lagarde, the head of the International Monetary Fund, reiterated her call for the U.S. and China to deescalate their trade war, which she warned is the biggest risk to global economic growth.

Reuters has a good article explaining the levers China can pull to escalate its trade war against the U.S.

President Trump has vowed to discuss the festering trade war with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan later this month.

Will he be able to pull another rabbit out of the hat?

The Malicious Defamation And Blacklisting Of Trump Administration Officials

As you’ve not doubt already heard, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen resigned on Sunday.  Her departure comes on the heels of a swell of migrant “families” crossing our southern border and pushing the system toward an inevitable collapse.

Customs and Border Patrol estimates apprehensions of border-crossers topped 90,000 in March, more than almost any month in the last decade. The numbers will likely continue to rise as warmer weather brings a seasonal uptick in illegal immigration.

No matter how you may feel about her time as President Trump’s DHS Secretary, Nielsen was at an agonizing impasse with outmoded immigration laws Congress refuses to fix and the escalating crisis at the border.

“By anyone's definition, by any measure, right now we have a crisis at our southern border.  There were 4,000 apprehensions in one day alone this past week and we’re on pace for 100,000 apprehensions this month.  That is by far a greater number than anything I saw on my watch in my three years as Secretary of Homeland Security,” said Jeh Johnson who was Obama’s immigration official.

As the consensus grows that the surge of refugees at the southern border constitutes a crisis, Democrats generally remain flat-footed on the subject. It was fine to denounce Immigration and Customs Enforcement for the mistreatment of children and families and probably even politically useful to mock Trump’s fixation on a “big, beautiful wall,” but that’s not going to be enough.

We don’t know what direction Trump will take now that Nielsen is out the door, but it seems a sure bet he will not be vulnerable to accusations of minimizing the threat.

Democrats have succumbed to the temptation that believing since the President is “intemperate and xenophobic” sounding in his remarks on immigration it is enough for them to simply denounce his bluster and condemn his policies as cruelty.

Voters care deeply about illegal immigration. As 2020 barrels headlong towards us, more and more alarming images along the border will emerge and Democrat presidential candidates will need to have some concrete answers before we head to the ballot box.

Restore Public Trust, a predominately Democrat public interest group targeted Trump Administration officials in a full-page ad in Sunday’s New York Times that read:  “Attention Corporate America: Don’t let hate into your boardroom.”

Nielsen's name appears on a list along with other current and former Trump Administration officials including former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and current White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
Restore Public Trust’s advisory board includes long-serving Democrat operatives like Shripal Shah, Melanie Sloan, Melissa Bonine, Brad Woodhouse and Kyle Herring.

RPT is a fiscal project of the New Venture Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity that took in $358 million in 2016 and has funneled millions of dollars to left-wing advocacy groups like David Brock’s Media Matters for America and the Center for American Progress.

These barbaric ne’er-do-wells, it seems, will not rest until they have sabotaged any and all Trump Administration officials from securing new employment.

Spokesman Karl Frisch said companies “need to think twice about what that will mean for their brand to be associating with somebody who is responsible for one of the most horrific policies this administration put forward and that speaks volumes.”

Illegal Immigration: Aliens Use Fraud and Incompetence To Fleece Taxpayers

Despite democratic protestations, illegal aliens are costing the US taxpayer enormous sums of money, billions of bucks. In just one year we could afford to build a bulky, beautiful barrier with the big bucks that are being blown because of banned bustle across our borders. In fact, the funds spent to support these criminals by just two states alone, California and New York, would provide enough funding ($30+ billion) to build TWO walls across our southern border.
The approximately $46 billion in federal expenditures attributable to illegal aliens is staggering. Assuming an illegal alien population of approximately 12.5 million illegal aliens and 4.2 million U.S.-born children of illegal aliens, that amounts to roughly $2,746 per illegal alien, per year. For the sake of comparison, the average American college student receives only $4,800 in federal student loans each year.
Educational Expenditures .......$1,691,034,040
Medical Expenditures ............$17,135,594,572
Law Enforcement .................$13,148,609,360
Welfare Programs ...................$5,849,236,360
General Expenditures ..............$8,046,000,000
Total ...................................... $45,870,474,332

The DHS compiled a report on on the use of public services by immigrants and they found that more than 25% of immigrants use extensive public benefits, which is a higher rate than native-born U.S. population. Source

Welfare fraud for aliens is rampant at the state level.

Federal USDA audits of just five states (Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Washington and Nebraska) found that states ignore mandated application safeguards. Imprisoned and dead aliens are still being given benefits. The safeguards are:
  • Prisoner Verification System (7 CFR §272.13)
  • Deceased Matching System (7 CFR §272.14)
  • Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (7 CFR §272.11)

Build The Wall, Build It Tall, Build it Strong and Build It Now.

How many times do we have to have the slaughter in our southern neighbor paraded before our eyes.? The problem with gun violence isn't guns, it's the murderous people that use them. It is a people problem, not a gun problem.

As an example look at the City of Tijuana just south of San Diego. In only three months Tijuana murders (over 530) have passed the annual number of murders in Baltimore (one of the most violent cities in America) and almost reached the annual level of Chicago. And Mexico has but a single location where you can purchase a firearm, a place in Mexico City known as the "Directorate of Arms and Munitions Sales" which is operated by the Mexican Army.

The clerks are soldiers.
Tijuana sits on the U.S. border with California, approximately 17 miles south of San Diego. A brief look at both cities reveals that San Diego has a population of 1.4 million compared to Tijuana’s 1.8 million. In 2016 and 2017 respectfully, Tijuana finished with 910 and 1,734 homicides while San Diego registered 50 and 34 for each year in straight comparisons, local journalists found at the time.
The cartel violence in Tijuana has been attributed to a resurgence of remnants from the Cártel de Los Arellano Félix, which is now operating under the name of Cártel Tijuana Nueva Generación (CTNG) and aligns with El Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación. These two criminal groups are engaged in a turf dispute with the Sinaloa Cartel. In some areas, rival factions within the Sinaloa Cartel are fighting for control of the lucrative street-level markets and valuable routes leading into the United States.
Last year Mexico reported 29,168 homicides, 80% of which are still open. Mexico has a murder rate three times that of the US (15 per 100,000 vs 5).

Cartel violence means that the Mexican gene pool, for the most part, is cleansing itself. Unfortunately innocent bystanders, courageous politicians and law enforcement also get thrown into the stats. In consideration of these circumstances, a comprehensive southern border wall makes perfect sense. Not only would it reduce crime in the US, but it would put the brakes on drug and human trafficking through Mexico. A porous border guarantees that it is very profitable to transport drugs and sex slaves (including children) into the States. The money is good and the risk is low. Now throw an effective 30 foot barrier up. The entire game plan changes when it gets harder to break into a country.

Isn't that funny? Israel found out the same thing with Palestinian terrorists.

What will happen most likely is that the price of illegal narcotics will increase, perhaps dramatically. Recreational use will hopefully diminish until domestic supplies increase. With cocoa plants used to produce cocaine, that may be never.

The human trafficking will probably divert to US ports, much more so than now. And don't forget Canada which has grown lax in its immigration enforcement. Thousands of Chinese enter Canada every year and it is not that difficult to cross a 3,000 mile border that is almost entirely unprotected.

Smugglers/narcotics traffickers have used the St. Lawrence River in upstate NY for generations. All you have to do is throw a parcel full of narcotics (or booze back in the 1920's) off an international freighter to a waiting speedboat and off they go. The RCMP have established their own river patrols to combat this (pic below).

We cannot conduct surveillance on every mile of our coastal areas and borders. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports this:
The common image of an illegal immigrant sneaking into the U.S. involves a Latin American huddling for cover in the brush of an expansive desert. It’s hot, dry, and desolate. Perhaps they are attempting to swim across the Rio Grande as it meanders through the dusty climes of the southern U.S. or jump a fence in the middle of the night.
There is a different, much less publicized form of illegal immigrant—the kind coming from Canada. Many of these individuals are not Latin American—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have apprehended border jumpers from Albania, The Czech Republic, Israel, and India—and they often cross the many waterways of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and New York by boat, jet ski, or by swimming.

Laughably Stupid WaPo “Journalist” Awarded Prestigious Kim Jong-Un Prize For Contributions To Journalism

The cascading outbreak of hoof and mouth disease continues apace; this time from a ham-fisted fool at The Washington Post.

Daniel W. Drezner and his “hard-working staff” do not like Attorney General Jeff Sessions.  No sir, not one bit.  Their reasons:  he was the first senator to endorse Donald Trump, he dismissed divergent views as “soulless globalism” and he’s bringing back the war on drugs.

Clinging fervently to his reflexive outrage, Drezner merely glanced at a Tweet from Josh Dawsey, a Politico White House reporter, who truncated a line from Sessions’ speech to the US Border Patrol while visiting the US-Mexico border in Nogales, AZ.
The useful idiot jumped to conclusions assuming use of the word “filth” was intended to describe illegal immigrants so he intemperately fired off this Tweet:
Here’s the problem for Drezner.  He skimmed The Wall Street Journal piece containing the Attorney General’s prepared remarks.  Sessions deviated from those remarks saying instead:
“Along this border, transnational gangs like MS-13 and international cartels flood our country with drugs and leave death and violence in their wake. And it is here that criminal aliens and the coyotes and the document-forgers seek to overthrow our system of lawful immigration.”
“Let’s stop here for a moment. When we talk about MS-13 and the cartels, what do we mean? We mean international criminal organizations that turn cities and suburbs into war-zones, that rape and kill innocent citizens and who profit by smuggling poison and other human beings across our borders. Depravity and violence are their calling cards, including brutal machete attacks and beheadings.”
“It is here, on this sliver of land, on this border, where we first take our stand.”
Using the excuse he had to rush off to a meeting with students and colleagues, he did not carefully read the speech and jumped to his own conclusions.  Something he regretted after the Tweet had already gone viral.  He was astoundingly wrong and, to his credit, later apologized.
After TPM’s Josh Marshall tweeted, “Sessions’ speechwriter goes full Stormfront in border speech” and Daily Kos’ Gabe Ortiz tweeted, “’We take our stand against this filth.’ Sessions speech goes full-on white nationalist,” Geraldo Rivera AKA Jerry Rivers appeared on Fox News Outnumbered yesterday repeating the false charge:
"I don't mind the tough talk, because it's deterred people trying the Southern border, and that's a good thing because it's so dangerous for them. To stabilize the border is a good thing. But I'm absolutely deeply hurt and offended by the tone of this language. This attorney general by using words like 'filth' to describe the undocumented immigrants coming across the Southern border, it smacks of a racist tint to me that I find repulsive."
I said all that to say this:  There are some people out there who believe a movie about a tornado full of sharks is true.  Is it any wonder Americans distrust the media?

A House Divided

“Each man is an island unto himself. But though a sea of difference may divide us, an entire world of commonality lies beneath.”

I want to begin with that premise.

When The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer won the presidency in 2008 Republicans of every stripe bemoaned the humiliating subjugation of John McCain.

Beltway Republicans lost Middle America because they were ideologically incapable of addressing two great concerns: economic insecurity and the perception that we are losing the America that we grew up in.

Economic insecurity is traceable to NAFTA-GATT globalization, under which it makes economic sense for US companies to close factories here, build plants in China and export back to the United States. Manufacturing now accounts for less than 10 percent of all US jobs.  The most recent such example is Carrier which makes furnaces in its Indianapolis plant.  The plant is moving to Monterrey, Mexico.

Social insecurity is traceable to the unprecedented massive illegal immigration which has brought in scores of millions who are altering the character of our communities and competing with US workers by offering their services for far less pay.

As long as the “establishment elite” in the Republican Party are addicted to K Street cash and the monomania of their own reelection it will not address either.

These transfixions have caused the Party’s base to splinter.  We are witnessing good Republicans savaging each other at the water cooler, neighborhood block parties and most especially on conservative websites and cable television.  We are destroying each other.

There can be no uniting the Party at this point.  Passions are running high in both the Cruz and Trump camps.  The loyalty pledge each GOP candidate signed in late September of last year affirmed they would endorse the nominee regardless of who it was.  With neither candidate abiding by that pledge they have, by default, engendered a visceral loathing of the other’s supporters.

Cruz and Trump supporters are focused on eviscerating each other with venomous insults.  What in the name of all that is holy does this accomplish?  The fuse has been lit.  Rather than doing battle against the gargoyle Hillary Clinton we are fighting each other.  I could never have imagined such toxicity.

Is this how the Republican Party passes from this Earth?

Geraldo Rivera And The Deportation Cannon

The same guy who became a laughingstock during the massively over-hyped opening of Al Capone’s vault, compromised operational information by reporting the position and American troop movements in Iraq on live TV, lied about being on the scene of “friendly fire” in Afghanistan and shoved an Air Force rescue worker aside during Hurricane Katrina so he could be filmed helping lift a woman in a wheelchair to safety is pissed off at the president over the news that DHS has begun preparing for a series of raids that would target for deportation hundreds of families who arrived in hordes to the US.  Among those to be deported include the surge of unaccompanied minors from Central America.

I’m referring, of course, to FOX News contributor Geraldo (Jerry) Rivera.  Rivera tweeted, “POTUS plan to muster authorities to round up & deport even non-criminal undocumented mostly Latino immigrants on Christmas Eve makes me sick.”

Oh Jerry.  By virtue of the fact they are here as undocumented immigrants means they have broken the law.  Secondly, the operations are to begin in early January not Christmas Eve as you purport in your tweet.  And lastly, these are illegals that had already been ordered removed from the United States by an immigration judge.

We don’t really know the true number of illegals who traipsed across our borders.  Some say 5 million.  Others say it could be as many as 11 million.  Obama’s executive action to “shield” them from deportation was blocked by the courts.

Executive Director for The Center for Immigration Studies, Mark Krikorian, admits he is skeptical about “whether the scale would be large enough to deter future illegal immigration from Central America.”  He added, “If you have photogenic raids on a few dozen illegal families and that’s the end of it, it’s just for show.  It’s just a [public relations] thing, enforcement theater.”

Rivera, who will go on an irrational rant at the drop of a hat, will no doubt explode when FOX airs its new animated sitcom “Bordertown” which is set to debut on Sunday, January 3, 2016.  In the official trailer, a device called the “deportation cannon” is ordered to be lit flinging illegals back across the border from whence they came.

"Give us Your Tired, Poor Teeming Masses, No Huddle, Fourth and Long"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
-Emma Lazarus, The New Colossus

"We can't turn them away! That's not who we are!" Maybe we are, but even if so, I suspect that's not how we always were. But, before we move to make "The New Colossus" our 28th Amendment, let's parse it a bit and apply it to our present situation. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." I think that's an important qualifier right there: "yearning to breathe free". People came to America, come to America, because it is a land of freedom and opportunity. People who love freedom and desire it for themselves and others should always be welcome here.

The irony of so many people quoting the Emma Lazarus poem, ensconced on a bronze plaque on Ellis Island, is that while most of our European immigrants came through Ellis Island, it was also a point to turn some away. If you were healthy and could support yourself, Step this way! Right over here! If you were too sick to work, you were invited to go back wherever you came from, regardless of race, creed or color. I guess that was 'who we were'?

I was reading in my dead tree paper the other day, an account of a man who was seven years old in 1939, on a ship of about 800 Jewish refugees, being turned away from Florida ports. Was FDR afraid of seven year olds, Mr. Obama? They were fleeing the advent of the Third Reich, and unbeknownst to them at the time, the gas chambers of concentration camps. FDR must not have thought "That's not who we are" at the time when he turned them away.

Do we want to emulate Mr. Roosevelt? I don't think so. It does give a little historic perspective: just because you are needy, even fleeing a war zone, does not entitle you automatic entrance into the US.  (This also includes our southern border) I don't think FDR feared the potential presence of a jihadist among the Jewish refugees. Nor do we want to emulate Bill Clinton, whose jack booted thugs grabbed little Elian Gonzalez at gunpoint to forcibly remove him back to Cuba.

Seems to me, there must be a path between the two extremes of let everybody in and let no one in. I do believe though, that as we did once on Ellis Island, we should try to vet those immigrants who are yearning to breathe free and would be a good fit in our country. Despite President Stompy Foot's assertion that "Republicans fear 3 year olds", there is a real concern that an influx of single males, of military age, could contain ISIS sleepers, or yet more malcontents like the Tsarnaev brothers of Boston Marathon bombing fame and their dear sweet mother!

Our immigration policy ought not to be a suicide pact. Obama beclowns himself when he tries to minimize the genuine concerns over letting potential terrorists into the heartland, by his use of ridicule and scorn. Care should be taken to screen those coming into the country, not just for terrorist ties, but for their ability to assimilate and to keep the American dream alive for yet another generation.

Good people can differ on exactly how they might accomplish that, though I suspect the answer lies somewhere between the two extremes.

No Ramadan For You

This is what I imagine Coulter’s testimony before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs would look like
Donald Trump has stated he thought Oprah Winfrey would be a “great” running mate.  He’s also intimated that he’d love to include Sarah Palin in his cabinet if he is elected president.

Now we learn that author Ann Coulter would like to be the head of The Donald’s Department of Homeland Security.  Coulter believes she would run a much tighter ship than the current DHS chief.

Speaking at the Eagle Forum’s Collegian Summit in DC, Coulter said “slightly joking”, that she "could get it all done before breakfast” adding she “could kind of guess who the criminals are going to be at least 50 percent of the time.”

She said she would bring America back to the good old days, when immigration was more tightly controlled.

“There was no pussyfooting around,” she said. “We’re assimilating you, you’re here, and you’re going to be an American. There will be no celebration of Cinco de Mayo, there will be no Ramadan, in fact there won’t even be a Feast of the Immaculate Conception—we are an Anglo-Protestant country, and you will learn about the Battle of Valley Forge.”

Late To The Punchline

If you’re gullible it’s probably a good idea to look before you leap.  Just ask “Karoli” a contributor to an über liberal website that is littered with brainiacs from the administrations of Bubba and Barry.

It all began with a “plagiarized interview” from an openly satirical site The National Report.  A bogus website, KCTV7, heisted text from The National Report that claimed Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) had called for unaccompanied Central American children to be sent to indoctrination camps to become Americanized in an interview with Minnesota’s Twin Cities News talk radio host Jason Lewis.  There was no such article and no such interview that featured the Congresswoman.

Scott Kaufman sounded the alarm suggesting the “crazy racist Bachmann story [was] so believable liberal websites” fell for the parody.  The sites were forced to update the story admitting they were bamboozled.

Everyone knows that Bachmann is a huge target of the Left and any chance they get to slam her is an opportunity they will lick their chops to jump at even if they are made to look like blithering idiots.  According to a Memeorandum thread there were at least three liberal websites that took the bait hook, line and sinker.

Karoli’s response to the kerfuffle she created:
“Yeah, I got pwned. How sad is it that it was just this side of realistic enough to believe in the first place. When you have a reputation for making outrageous and ridiculous comments, it becomes easier and easier to believe something that should have been dismissed out of hand.  Live and learn.”

Why Wasn’t He Deported? A Mother’s Furious Letter To The President

Mary Ann Mendoza, mother of an off-duty police officer who was killed by a wrong-way illegal immigrant driver, has written a furious letter to President Obama demanding to know why the man was not deported after being convicted of a crime.

Her son, Sgt. Brandon Mendoza, had been driving home from work on May 12 when Raul Silva-Corona smashed into him after driving the wrong way along freeways for 35 miles.

Police received 33 911 calls as he sped along the Loop 101 Freeway, down State Route 51 and eventually to the I-10/US 60 interchange before hitting Mendoza on a freeway ramp.  Silva-Corona’s blood alcohol content was 0.24 percent on the night of the crash.

Mendoza, a beloved 13-year veteran of the Mesa Police force, was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later died.

Via The Arizona Republic is her impassioned letter verbatim:
President Obama,
I am writing this letter to you regarding illegal immigrants.
As a tax paying, law abiding citizen of the United States, I WANT my voice heard on this issue. My son, Sergeant Brandon Mendoza, an officer who was with the City of Mesa, Arizona police department, was killed in a tragic head on collision on May 12, 2014 by a wrong way driver on our freeways. This man happened to be an illegal immigrant, was in this country illegally, convicted of previous crimes, no Social Security number, no valid driver's license BUT he had purchased a vehicle and registered it to drive in Maricopa County Arizona.
I had my son's life STOLEN from me by a man who didn't value his life, was 3X the legal limit drunk, was high on Meth, drove for over 35 miles THE WRONG WAY on 4 different freeways and had NO BUSINESS BEING IN THIS COUNTRY!!!
The Federal Government knew he, Raul Silva Corona, was an illegal immigrant when he was convicted on crimes in 1994 in Colorado.  The prosecutors were "lenient" on him and several charges were dismissed.  When he was convicted of these crimes and 1994 and the government knew he was in the country illegally, why wasn't he deported? Why are any of these illegal criminals in this country??
I am furious that the Federal Government allowed this criminal to stay in this country and KILL my son!  I have attached several articles for you to PERSONALLY read about my son. He was an Icon with the City of Mesa Police Department. He was instrumental in making life better for people of all walks of life in the park project he took on.  He was humble, selfless, worked many hours off the clock helping disadvantaged children and often used his own money to do things for the community, including "adopting" children at Christmas to provide them with gifts…out of his own money!!
I have attached numerous articles for you to read about my son. This was not a life that should have been taken so early. The good he was doing in our community is remarkable, the difference he made in people's lives is amazing and the comfort he brought people in friendship was unmeasurable.
All you have to do is Google “Sgt/Officer Brandon Mendoza" and you will have plenty of reading material about my wonderful son who had just passed his Sergeant's exam to become a Sgt. The Chief of Police posthumously promoted him during the week of his funeral but that highlight of his life was stolen from him!!!  He was officer of the year last year. Officer of the quarter for the first quarter of 2014. He was only 32 years old and had done more in his life than most of us have done in a lifetime!
I am going to have my voice heard and I want to you to know what my personal feeling is on whether CRIMINAL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS should be allowed in this country.  I have been DIRECTLY affected by this.  I am sure if your life had been affected like mine has been, you would have a different view of this situation. I have lived in Arizona most of my life. My son, Brandon Mendoza, was half Hispanic.  It's not the color of skin that my son or I see, it's the person and how they conduct their lives.  If you can't enter this country legally then you shouldn't be here.  If you commit crimes, you should pay the time any of us as US Citizens would have to serve.  Letting these illegal criminals out of our jails before their time is served and turning them loose on the streets to commit further crimes and KILL our loved ones is NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME!!  AND it shouldn't be acceptable to any US Citizen.  Mr. President, you don't have the right to make this decision yourself…I have a say, even if it is for one moment.  Maybe that one moment will light a spark with another citizen who can then light a candle, who can then light a bonfire, who can then light a city up and so on.  My light has just been lit and I am not going to back down when so many of these illegal immigrants have more rights than we do.  My son's death will not be ignored as another statistic.
I want laws to change that would not allow illegal immigrants to purchase vehicles in our country and register them to drive them in our states WITHOUT having driver's licenses to drive them legally.  How is this happening???  I want laws changed that will force the removal of illegal immigrants who break our laws.  This man, this repeated law breaker, was allowed to be released and he continued breaking the laws in our country until what????  UNTIL HE WAS STOPPED BY MY SON IN A HEAD ON COLLISION THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!!  HE KILLED AN OFFICER OF THE LAW AS HIS LAST ACT!!!  When are you going to see the flip side to this issue?  When will you realize the hurt and pain and destruction these illegal immigrants who break the law will continue to cause????  Until you live in a state that deals with this on a daily basis, you will not understand it.
I want answers that make sense.  I want answers from you personally as to why this criminal was allowed to stay in our country until he took my son's life.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Mendoza

Dora And The Diffident Ditherer

During the five-and-a-half years of his parade of horribles The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer has attended 400 fundraisers and played 180 rounds of golf to date.

Today, David Limbaugh opined that, “Everything Obama does is about politics. If he weren't endlessly raising money for his hyperpartisan Democratic Party, he wouldn't have even bothered to fly to Texas in the first place. His entire approach to the immigration issue is to fast-track as many illegals as he can, with the long-term goal of turning the country permanently blue, which happens to be a political, not humanitarian, motivation. Obama is so thoroughly political that commentators can't even discuss Obama without focusing on the ‘optics’. Would it be that hard for them to assess, just once, whether he's doing the right thing?”

The Los Angeles Times reported Sunday that the number of immigrants under age 18 who were deported or turned away at ports of entry has fallen dramatically—from 8,143 in 2008 to 1,669 last year—according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement data.

There are thousands of illegal immigrant children who have crossed our southern border.  Nate Beeler, political cartoonist for the Columbus Dispatch created a powerful image of the invasion.  The cartoon depicts the president standing in the desert.  In front of him are two cacti and between them is a baby gate marked “Immigration Policy”.  Walking around the baby gate are children carrying their ditty bags.  Sweet Jesus, if that doesn’t tell the story of this crisis nothing does, that is unless you are aware that he travelled to Denver and played pool, drank beer, shook hands with a man wearing a horse head mask and was offered a toke from someone’s doobie.

There are reports of rampant disease including swine flu, dengue fever, Ebola virus and tuberculosis, of rape and violence targeting the underage illegals now warehoused along our borders.

Worse still is the mortifying report from Judicial Watch that the two most feared street gangs, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and the 18th Street Gang, are on a recruiting frenzy at the various facilities housing the newly arrived illegal aliens.

The UACs (unaccompanied children) are not all little children despite what the mainstream media insists on reporting.  Many are in their late teens who are “soldiers” for the aforementioned gangs that espouse drug distribution, murder, rape, robbery, home invasions, kidnappings, vandalism and a whole host of other violent crimes.

In a flagrant bit of showboating, Nancy Pelosi visited Brownsville, TX to preach to America that we should welcome the transformation of America into a mongrel nation.

Speaking to the assembled poodles of the press Pelosi remarked, "What we just saw was so stunning, if you believe as we do, that every child, every person, has the spark of divinity in them, and is therefore worthy of respect, what we saw in those rooms was a dazzling, sparkling array of God's children, worthy of respect."

Yes Nancy, MS-13 and the 18th Street Gang are a dazzling, sparkling array of God’s children.  You don’t have a clue honey.

Whether or not you live in a border state, or a state where these illegal unaccompanied minors are being brought to a temporary facility, this issue touches all Americans.

The media has been asleep at the wheel on this issue either due to their own personal politics on illegal immigration or their loyalty to this president who prevents them from reporting the truth.

A Congressional Research Service report (page 10) dated June 26, 2012 shows that U.S. financial aid to El Salvador was 41.8M.  Guatemala received 93.6M and Honduras received 58.2M in 2013.  These countries comprise the “Northern Triangle” of Central America.  These are the countries from which the vast majority of the fleeing UACs are coming.

UPDATE:  This post has been updated to reflect the correct number of golf games played by this president to 180 instead of the 176 originally noted.

Overpower The System Until It Literally Collapses

More than 90,000 children, mostly from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, will be caught this year, and more than 140,000 will be apprehended in 2015, according to an internal U.S. Customs and Border Protection memo.

Democrats intractably continue to demand a path to citizenship for the nearly 12 million unauthorized immigrants illegal aliens undocumented Democrats who are currently residing in our country and bring to an end strict deportation requirements.

The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer and incessant golf course denizen issued an executive action in June 2012 allowing hundreds of thousands of illegals who came here before the age of 16 to remain here untouched by immigration laws that the federal government refused to enforce essentially putting out a welcome mat for Central American women who mistake the U.S. for a brother-in-law with a job and a sofa.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson parroted White House talking points in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, “The situation is motivated primarily by the conditions in the countries that they're leaving—El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.  Violence, poverty—I believe that is principally what is motivating the situation."

The unvarnished truth is they chose this particular time to migrate to the United States to take advantage of the "new" U.S. "law" that grants a "free pass" or permit (referred to as "permisos") being issued by the U.S. government to female adult Other Than Mexicans traveling with minors and to Unaccompanied Children.

The information is apparently common knowledge in Central America and is spread by word of mouth, and international and local media. A high percentage of the subjects interviewed stated their family members in the U.S. urged them to travel immediately, because the United States government was only issuing immigration "permisos" until the end of June 2014.  The issue of "permisos" was the main reason provided by 95% of the interviewed subjects.

Today it emerged that despite the inundation of diseased women and children Vice President Joe Biden believes more, not fewer, immigrants should come to America.

Speaking to a National Association of Manufacturers’ crowd this week he called for a 'constant, unrelenting stream' of new immigrants—'not dribbling (but) significant flows,' to bolster the national economy, The Hill reported.

‘We need it badly from a purely — purely economic point of view,’ Mr Biden said, The Hill reported.

Later, on Twitter, he wrote: “The final thing we need to do together is pass immigration reform…We need it badly. -VP at manufacturing summit.”

Neil Munro reports that Plugs will fly into Guatemala on June 20 to meet with the presidents of Guatemala and El Salvador, plus a top official from Honduras, and to tell the 28 million people in those countries that they can’t migrate to the United States, a White House official said Sunday.

“Anytime the administration sends Joe Biden to solve a problem, it’s clear evidence that the administration doesn’t see it as a problem worth solving,” the aide said, noting that Obama has not spoken in public about the crisis.

The administration has turned to the Department of Defense to use three military bases in California, Texas and Oklahoma to temporarily house other children once they are transferred to HHS care.

Baltimore may soon be the home to hundreds of illegal immigrant children who were taken into custody at the border.

WBFF-TV reports that the former Social Security building, which has been vacant for months, could be designated to house hundreds of children crossing the border illegally with no adult supervision.

According to the New York Daily News, those who became "state citizens" under a new New York state bill would "be able to vote in state and local elections and run for state office. They could get a driver’s license, a professional license, Medicaid and other benefits controlled by the state. Immigrants would also be eligible for in-state tuition and financial aid."

Good.  Our betters should be confronted with and forced to cope with the havoc they wreak.  There should be no escape for them.  We Kulaks always have to feel the pain of their assinine policies.  The consequences should fall on their shoulders where it so richly belongs.

A still better relocation scheme would be to load them up and take them directly to the front doors of the homes of Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin and Nancy Pelosi.  TV camera crews should be present the moment they open their doors to record their shocked facial expressions and their adamant declaration that “they can’t stay here!”
