Schumer Demands President Trump Discriminate In Favor Of African Americans

Would you trust your healthcare to a physician who graduated from med school with a D minus?  Logically, you’d place your trust in someone more qualified with your life.
When Sen. Chuck Schumer rejected the President’s nominee for a long-vacant South Carolina federal judgeship because of his race, he drew the indignation of Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) who is a former federal prosecutor.
Schumer said he would not be a part of the Trump administration's pattern of nominating white men.
"The nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary. It's long past time the judiciary starts looking a lot more like the America it represents. Having a diversity of views and experience on the federal bench is necessary for the equal administration of justice."
The Democrat Party has a long, long history of identity and race-based politics.  He expressed no qualms about Marvin Quattlebaum’s record or his judicial views. Schumer was gung-ho over nominating Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court in 2016 who is a white guy.
Sen. Tim Scott, the Senate's only black Republican, pushed back on Schumer's rationale and urged other Senate Democrats to instead address diversity issues by starting with their own staff.
"Perhaps Senate Democrats should be more worried about the lack of diversity on their own staffs than attacking an extremely well-qualified judicial nominee from the Great State of South Carolina," Scott tweeted Thursday morning.
Despite Schumer’s crybaby tactic, Quattlebaum was confirmed by the Senate 69-29.  Sen. Angus King (I-ME) voted to confirm him along with 18 other Democrats who broke with Schumer.
Schumer’s not-so-veiled call for affirmative action on the federal bench raised quite a few eyebrows and while being interviewed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer today, Schumer did an Olympic-style gold medal flip-flop.
Blitzer asked if Schumer's vote was "payback," since the senator justified his comments about Quattlebaum's race by arguing Republicans were unfair toward prior nominees.
Schumer blamed "right-wing radio" for "distorting his words."
"What I said is this: that Barack Obama had nominated, I think as early as 2013, two people for this seat, and our Republican senators from South Carolina blocked them with the withholding of the blue slip, which has been a tradition. So, this seat has been vacant for a long time, the two people nominated were African-Americans and I said, ‘Now this fellow is white, and we need the bench to have real diversity. The president's record in nominating people of color, even nominating women to the bench—I think the bench should look like America, and I think most Americans agree with that. And the fact they held up two people for so long and now wanted to get their fellow to come in made no sense, and compounding the injury was the lack of diversity on the bench."
NOTE:  The “blue slip” Chuckles cited is a form used in the Senate to voice a senator’s support for or disapproval of a judicial nominee.  Last year Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) abandoned the blue slip precedent.

Braying Ass Defends Hillary’s Secret Email Server

Former Vermont Governor, Howard Dean, whose presidential campaign was torpedoed by a blood-curdling scream heard 'round the world appeared this morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to defend Hillary’s secret email server.  The cast immediately mocked him as a partisan hack.

According to The Washington Post, much of the classified information in the email conversations on her server originated with the CIA, according to two government officials familiar with the records. Some of the information was deemed to be classified by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s classification guidelines. The information included references to information related to satellite images and electronic communications, according to the officials.

Tuesday evening as news broke that the FBI demanded Cankles surrender her private home server, Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi, Trey Gowdy released the following statement:
“For months the Select Committee on Benghazi has called on Secretary Clinton to turn over her server to a neutral, detached third party for independent forensic examination. She refused every entreat.  Secretary Clinton said she created this unusual email arrangement with herself for ‘convenience.’ It may have been convenient for her, but it has been troubling at multiple levels for the rest of the country.”
“Congress, the media, the public, private litigants and FOIA requestors were denied access to public documents, and recently the Inspectors General for two separate Executive Branch entities expressed concern about the possible exposure of classified material as a direct result of her decision to eschew the email rules applicable to everyone else and create her own.”
“The IC [IntelligenceCommunity] Inspector General revealed Secretary Clinton’s emails and server contained not just ‘top secret’ classified information, but ‘compartmented’ classified intelligence not releasable to foreigners, which must be noted in the timing of this announcement. This is a serious national security issue, and the seriousness of it should transcend normal, partisan politics.”
“The revelation that Secretary Clinton exclusively used private email for official public business, and the multitude of issues that emanated from her decision, including this most recent one, demonstrates what can happen when Congress and those equally committed to exposing the truth, doggedly pursue facts and follow them.”
A lefty website reports that a new Monmouth University survey finds that “52 percent of registered voters think that Clinton’s emails should be investigated in a criminal probe.”

This morning as the full impact of this bombshell is sending shockwaves through the Democratic Party and the Hillary camp, Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News.  Below is the interview:

Rep. Gowdy Questions Secret Service Director Pierson About White House Security Breaches

Cartoon by Cameron Cardow
I watched with great interest the hearing held today by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that attempted to address the security breaches at the White House.

At one point Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA), ripped Director Julia Pierson a new one, saying that he didn’t believe the Secret Service takes their duty to protect the president seriously and he has “very low confidence” in her leadership.  “I wish to God that you protected the White House like you’re protecting your reputation right now.”  (The text of her opening statement is here)

Watching the hearing I became annoyed with her constantly turning on and turning off her microphone as she responded to questions in a holier-than-thou monotone voice.

In a scathing report by The Washington Post yesterday, it was learned that the “fence jumper” made it far deeper into the White House than had previously been known which led CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett to suggest that the Administration in tandem with the Secret Service covered up the September 19th security breach.

According to The Washington Free Beacon, “Garrett said criminal charges should have been filed against Omar Gonzalez, the armed combat veteran who stormed inside the White House and led Secret Service agents on a chase throughout the first floor of the residence before being apprehended in the East Room.  Garrett asked why these charges were never filed, suggesting the Secret Service and administration officials wanted to ‘cover up exactly what happened inside the mansion.’”

“Inevitably, if those charges were filed, everyone would have asked what happened inside the executive mansion,” Garrett said. “One explanation for that would be to cover up exactly what happened inside the mansion.”

For this observer, the crème-de-le-crème of the hearing was the moment Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) interrogated the incompetent Secret Service Director.  It was glorious.

UPDATE:  The Washington Post reported at 5:14 PM today that a security contractor with a gun and three prior convictions for assault and battery was allowed on an elevator with the president during a Sept. 16 trip to Atlanta, violating Secret Service protocols, according to three people familiar with the incident.

The president was not told of the lapse in his security during his trip. Director Julia Pierson, according to two people familiar with the incident, took steps to have the matter reviewed internally and did not refer it to an investigative unit that reviews violations of protocol and standard.

The incident, which rattled Secret Service agents assigned to the president’s detail, occurred as he visited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to discuss the U.S. response to the Ebola crisis.

An Honorable Man

This past Saturday I had the distinct honor of meeting Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) as he was returning to Washington to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner as a guest of Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren.

As you may know by now, Congressman Gowdy has been appointed as Chairman of a select committee to investigate the 2012 Benghazi attacks during which “four of our fellow citizens were murdered, and a facility emblematic and representative of our country was attacked and burned on the anniversary of 9-11.”

At first, when I saw him standing about twenty feet from me I couldn’t believe my eyes.  I quickly walked up to him and asked if I might shake his hand.  He immediately reached out his hand to shake mine.

I told him that America was counting on him to get to the bottom of this god-awful tragedy.  My eyes began to tear up as I uttered those words.

He looked me dead in the eyes and said, "Yes Ma'am," and assured me that we are entitled to hear the truth about the attacks and its aftermath.

I wanted him to know that America supports him and he promised he would not let us down.

I was so excited about my chance meeting that I wanted to write a blog post about it, but when I got home I wasn’t able to access the Internet.  All I could do was post a Tweet.

About the four who were left to die at the brutal hands of Islamic radical terrorists Gowdy said, “They did what their country asked them to do.  They stood their post under dangerous circumstances even after requests for security were denied.  They stood their post.  The least we can do is stand this meager post that we have been assigned and demand that this Administration speak the truth to the people they’re supposed to serve.”

Gowdy’s appointment has struck a nerve and today reports reveal that Capitol Police are investigating emails that have been sent to the Congressman threatening him with harm.

Rumpswab Who Is Not Good At Math Also Not Good At Law

On Friday, May 10, 2013 Lois Lerner, head of the IRS Tax-Exempt Unit, apologized for targeting conservative groups by improperly delaying and scrutinizing their applications for tax-exempt status at a conference held by the American Bar Association.

The Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty and Zachary Goldfarb noted, “The IRS’s subsequent conference call with reporters was clumsily handled. At one point, Lerner attempted to do arithmetic on the phone and blurted out: ‘I’m not good at math.’”

The following Wednesday, Lerner gave an opening statement before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in which she lied about lying about having done nothing wrong.

“I have not done anything wrong. I have not broken any laws, I have not violated any IRS rules or regulations and I have not provided false information to this or any other congressional committee,” Lerner said.

Upon the advice of her attorney she then invoked her constitutional right to plead the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination and declined to testify.

Trey Gowdy, who sits on committee dealing with the IRS scandal objected saying, “Mr. Issa, Mr. Cummings just said we should run this like a courtroom, and I agree with him. She just testified. She just waived her Fifth Amendment right to privilege. You don't get to tell your side of the story and then not be subjected to cross examination. That's not the way it works. She waived her Fifth Amendment privilege by issuing an open statement. She ought to stand here and answer our questions.”

The fact that she restated some of the same answers she gave the inspector general during his investigation prompted the panel’s chairman Darrell Issa to remark, “At this point, I believe you have not asserted your rights, but have effectively waived your rights.”

And the stench we are smelling is from the collective pants-shitting of the regime.
