So, the guy who voted for
a communist for President of the United States of America in 1980 is being
closely scrutinized by United States Attorney John Durham. Not for that. No.
Brennan literally cast
a vote for Gus Hall, the Kremlin’s man in Washington, to become the next
president. That was the year Ronald
Reagan challenged incumbent President Jimmy Carter.
When Brennan was asked
a standard question (Have you ever worked with or for a group that was
dedicated to the overthrow of the United States?) for a security clearance when
applying for a job with the CIA, Brennan recalled at an annual conference for
the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation that he “froze”. “This was back in 1980 and I thought back to
a previous election where I voted for the Communist Party candidate,” said
Brennan.
In pre-Obama America
that little tidbit would have been a sure-fire disqualifier.
So, here we are today
and U.S. Attorney John Durham’s criminal investigation into the origins of the
FBI’s ”Russia investigation” is “taking a close look” at former Obama CIA
Director John Brennan.
The New York Times reported,
“He wants to learn what Mr. Brennan told other officials, including the former
FBI Director James B. Comey, about his and the CIA’s views of a notorious dossier
of assertions about Russia and Trump associates.”
Durham is also
reportedly taking a close look at whether Brennan made contradictory statements
between his private and public remarks about the anti-Trump Steele dossier and
about “any debate among the intelligence agencies over their conclusions on
Russia’s interference” in the 2016 presidential election.
Brennan was CIA Director
during President Trump's transition into the White House and left office the
same day he was inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
Once out of Langley, Comrade
Brennan tore into the President, accusing him of “treason” (among other
crimes) in countless television appearances and bitter tweets. It got so
vicious the President ordered the revocation of his security clearance.
This action is part of a broader effort by Mr. Trump to suppress freedom of speech & punish critics. It should gravely worry all Americans, including intelligence professionals, about the cost of speaking out. My principles are worth far more than clearances. I will not relent. https://t.co/TNzOxhP9ux— John O. Brennan (@JohnBrennan) August 15, 2018
In addition, the Administration pulled
clearances for former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of National
Intelligence James Clapper, former National Security Agency Director Michael
Hayden, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, former FBI attorney Lisa
Page, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former FBI
counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew
McCabe, whose security clearance was deactivated after he was fired and Bruce
Ohr, who is still in the Justice Department.
Part of the President’s statement
reads:
“Mr. Brennan has a history that calls into question his objectivity and credibility. In 2014, for example, he denied to Congress that CIA officials under his supervision had improperly accessed the computer files of congressional staffers. He told the Council of Foreign Relations that the CIA would never do such a thing. The CIA’s Inspector General, however, contradicted Mr. Brennan directly, concluding unequivocally that agency officials had indeed improperly accessed congressional staffers’ files.”
“More recently, Mr. Brennan told Congress that the Intelligence Community did not make use of the so-called Steele Dossier in an assessment regarding the 2016 election, an assertion contradicted by at least two other senior officials in the Intelligence Community and all of the facts. Additionally, Mr. Brennan has recently leveraged his status as a former high-ranking official with access to highly sensitive information to make a series of unfounded and outrageous allegations – wild outbursts on the internet and television – about this Administration. Mr. Brennan’s lying and recent conduct, characterized by increasingly frenzied commentary, is wholly inconsistent with access to the Nation’s most closely held secrets and facilitates the very aim of our adversaries, which is to sow division and chaos.”
You’ll pardon me for
being highly skeptical about Durham’s criminal investigation into the
unprecedented FBI probe of a presidential campaign, the egregious abuse of law
enforcement responsible for an attempted silent coup and three years of media
and political hysteria.
