Doing His Best Napoleon Impression

Europe’s self-proclaimed “strong man”, Emmanuel Macron, hosted newly elected President Donald Trump in 2017 when he visited France for the July 14th Bastille Day celebration at Dôme des Invalides where Napoléon is entombed.

Two months earlier, Macron celebrated his historic presidential victory at the Louvre as the youngest French ruler since Napoléon himself.  He stood beside the Louvre’s Pyramid on the square Cour Napoléon, once the home of the kings of France.  Rather than entering the square to the sounds of “La Marseillaise”, the French national anthem for hundreds of years, he ordered the playing of “Ode to Joy” by German composer Ludwig von Beethoven.

When Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Macron, he hosted him at Versailles, the sumptuous palace that became the symbol of France’s absolute monarchy.

I think you get where I’m going here. Macron equates himself as one of a caste of befeathered emperors and perfumed prince bishops that ruled Europe for centuries.

It doesn’t end there. Like Louis XIV, the Sun King who said “L'état, c'est moi” (I am the state), Macron is egotistical enough to court the Illuminati-esoterica crowd at Bilderberg comparing himself to the Roman god Jupiter who weighs his rare pronouncements carefully and sits above the fray of regular affairs.  What a schmuck.

Eighteen months into his term as France’s president, Macron’s approval ratings continue to slip, with only 26 percent of French people saying they have confidence in him.

The reason the French are disenchanted was outlined in a published report by the Los Angeles Times on October 3, 2017:

“He alienated conservatives by engaging in an ugly public spat with the army, France's most beloved institution, over his proposal to cut nearly $1 billion in defense spending in order to meet EU deficit targets. The army chief, Gen. Pierre de Villiers, resigned in protest after Macron suggested in newspaper interviews that he was angry at having his decisions questioned.”

“Last month, he annoyed liberals when he called opponents of his economic reforms "lazy"—recalling an incident from 2016 when, as Hollande's economy minister, he retorted to a pro-labor demonstrator who jeered at his well-tailored suit: ‘The best way to afford a suit is to work.’"

“The elitist moniker has stuck to Macron as he pushes ahead with his first salvo in the reform battle: undoing some of the protections guaranteed to French workers, perhaps the most pampered labor force in the industrialized world.”

Speaking at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris at a World War I commemoration ceremony attended by President Trump and 70 other world leaders, Macron suggested nationalism could lead to the same death and devastation seen during that war.

“Nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism. By saying our interests first, who cares about the others, we erase what a nation holds dearest, what gives it life, what makes it great and what is essential: its moral values.  I know there are old demons which are coming back to the surface. They are ready to wreak chaos and death. History sometimes threatens to take its sinister course once again.”

You don’t have to be a supporter of President Trump to feel the outrage of such a smug lecture. Maybe Mr. Macron should have first reflected on the nearly 117,000 Americans who made the supreme sacrifice in World War I or the 29,000 who perished on the French coast of Normandy in Operation Overlord on D-Day during World War II who saved his country about nationalism.

American nationalism animated our mighty republic to save France and the world twice during those conflagrations.

Instead of displaying a shred of gratitude for being liberated by the first superpower in world history uninterested in conquest he gave America an imperious dressing down.  My father was on Omaha Beach on D-Day.

When President Ronald Reagan commemorated the 40th anniversary of D-Day, he stood on the very spot where Allied soldiers had stormed ashore to liberate Europe from the yoke of Nazi tyranny.  Speaking to the veterans who climbed the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc he said, “You are men who in your lives fought for life and left the vivid air signed with your honor.”

On June 5, 1940 Nazi forces penetrated French Gen. Maxime Weygand’s forces on the Somme River and began to march south toward Paris, reaching the capital on June 14.  The city had been abandoned by the French government and the Nazis were allowed to march down the Champs-Élysées as Parisians watched in shock and sadness.

Were it not for America, the French would be speaking German. It’s no wonder an old joke persists even today about the French military:  one of white flags, hands thrust aloft and tails tucked between their legs in retreat.

With Paris Ablaze Macron Gets His Ass Handed To Him

Russian Nobel Prize winner for literature, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn said, “You only have power over people as long as you don’t take everything away from them.  But when you’ve robbed a man of everything, he’s no longer in your power─he’s free again.”

France is experiencing the kind of unrest that many agree is the worst since 1968 as the population seems to be dividing into those who prosper and those who struggle to keep their heads above water. For many struggling French citizens, a car is not a luxury or an indulgence but a precondition of being able to work.

The Macron Administration’s increase in the country’s fuel tax was the straw that broke the camel’s back.  The proposed fuel tax would cost the average Jacques hundreds of Euros a year.  Monsieur Macron has never personally experienced the need to make ends meet on a budget already stretched to the max.  The riots have evolved into a broader anti-Macron uprising.  Little Napoleon’s approval rating fell to 23% in a poll conducted late last week.  That’s down 6 points from the previous month.

You’ll recall last month France’s little egomaniac gave a smug lecture to President Trump during the Centennial of World War I. Speaking at the Arc de Triomphe, Macron suggested nationalism could lead to the same death and devastation seen during that war.

It is becoming harder for the EU’s “Obama” to present himself on the world stage as a progressive champion who will lead the fight against populism and nationalism if barricades are burning in Paris and protestors slam his government as an arrogant elite.

After his return from the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires, Macron surveyed the damage caused by gilet jaunes [yellow vests] at the Arc de Triomphe as street cleaners worked to scrub away graffiti urging:  “Macron Demission” [resign].

They needn’t have bothered. A small crowd gathered to shout it at Macron anyway.  Someone even managed to egg him.

The underlying problem in France is the same one faced by many countries, some to an even greater extent: namely of budgets, both public and private, that are never balanced, and of the consumption of more than is produced.

Macron had vowed to “stay the course without ceding to demagogy.” But the gilets jaunes have provoked a surprise crisis that will undoubtedly define his presidency. As they persist, he is increasingly desperate to appease them, even at a loss of revenues and face. On Tuesday, Édouard Philippe, the Prime Minister, announced a raft of conciliatory measures, including a six-month suspension of gas taxes, a promise to make sure that electricity prices don’t go up over the winter and a “national debate” on issues of taxation and expenditure. “No tax is worth endangering the unity of the nation,” he said.

The European Parliamentary elections are coming up in May of 2019.  Macron knows the elections will be a referendum not only on him, but also on the values of globalism, centrism and environmentalism, of which he has positioned himself as an international defender.

Looks Like France’s Emmanuel Macron Went To The John Podesta School Of Passwords

France is holding its presidential election tomorrow, Sunday May 7.  It appears the election may have been blown wide open by a massive and coordinated cyber attack.

Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche! Movement had its emails hacked last week.  Nine gigabytes of data were posted anonymously to a document-sharing site called Pastebin.  Macron, the front-runner, is whimpering the hack is an attempt by Russia to “destabilize” his election.

France's election campaign commission will hold a meeting this morning to discuss the hacking attack.  It urged French media not to publish the documents, warning that some of them were “probably” fake.

It’s all starting to look eerily familiar.

Macron has a commanding lead over rival Marine Le Pen—62% to 38%.

One of Macron’s aides said, “The Louvre will be the venue of our election night party.”

Macron and Le Pen have been involved in an increasingly bitter contest, accusing each other of being unfit to live up to the grandeur of the French presidency.

Macron has lodged a legal complaint about “the spreading of false information”, while openly accusing Ms Le Pen of running a deceitful and divisive campaign.

The presidential election commission said in statement that it would hold a meeting later today and urged the media to be cautious about publishing details of the emails given that campaigning had ended, and publication could lead to criminal charges.

The French government has blocked 4Chan from publishing any more of the leaked documents.

CNN’s Poppy Harlow Abuses The Privilege Of Being Stupid

President Trump is in France at the behest of President Emmanuel Macron to celebrate Bastille Day.
When I read the headline at The Daily Caller I could hardly believe what I saw.  I was subsequently stunned at the weapons-grade stupidity that followed in the embedded video on their website.
After arriving at Les Invalides, the site of Napoleon’s tomb, Macron guided President Trump through the archway where a French military band played a beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
CNN anchor Poppy Harlow, a graduate of Columbia University, did not recognize her own country’s national anthem.
In the video Poppy, bless her heart, said “Let’s just listen in to the French national anthem for a moment.”
You can hear whispering in the background after several seconds go by in which a producer corrected her gaffe.  With a chuckle she added, “The US─American national anthem─I should say.  Let’s listen.”
Dayum.  How ignorant do you have to be to work at this laughingstock network?  The Star Spangled Banner had already begun playing.  How the hell does an American citizen not recognize their own national anthem?  President Trump had placed his hand over his heart while Macron stood with his hands by his side.  That should have been her first clue.

You Have Chosen Poorly

Emmanuel Macron, the former banker long known as the Establishment’s candidate in France’s presidential election, may have just torpedoed his chances of defeating his opponent Marine Le Pen.

Despite being supported by The World’s Most Dangerous Community and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Macron stepped in shit when he hailed Le Pen’s Front National Party as the “anti-France” party.

“They’re here. It’s they. It’s they who are our true enemies,” declared Macron.

“Powerful, organized, skillful, determined.  You pass them in the streets, in the countryside or on the web, most often well hidden.  As hateful as they are cowardly. You know them.  The party of the agents of the disaster, the fearmongerers. The French far-right. It’s here”.

Wait. Just. A. Minute.

I hear a voice from the past…

“You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it.  And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up.”  [Hillary, circa September 2016]

Le Pen is narrowing the gap ahead of Sunday’s election.  She has attacked her opponent as soft on terror.  (See the timeline of terror attacks in France here.)

She has the will to take France in hand, restore her borders and give priority back to the people of France.

John Kerry Secretly Huddles With Sworn Enemy Of The United States

During President Trump’s speech at the 2018 National Rifle Association’s Annual Convention Friday, he made fun of former Secretary of State John Kerry for crashing his bicycle in 2015 and breaking his leg.
"John Kerry — not the best negotiator we've ever seen. He never walked away from the [negotiating] table except to be in that bicycle race where he fell and broke his leg. That was the only time. I said, 'Don't tell him you broke your leg. Just stay inside. Say you don't want to negotiate. You'll make a much better deal.’ But he broke it and I learned from that — at 73 years old, you never go into a bicycle race. You just don't do that. I'm not 73, he was, OK.”
The President once again ripped the Iran deal saying, "We signed that horrible deal. They're marching in the streets saying, 'Death to America.' Who signs a deal when they are marching saying, 'Death to America?'" he asked.
The President, at least according to my memory, has rarely mocked “Swift Boat Lurch”.  What was the impetus for taking a jab on this day?
According to a published report by The Boston Globe, Kerry met with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif two weeks ago in New York. It was the second time in about two months that the two had met to strategize over salvaging a deal they spent years negotiating during the Obama Administration.
Kerry also met last month with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and French President Emmanuel Macron in both Paris and New York.  Kerry is determined to preserve the fiction that Iran can be trusted and is actively seeking to undermine destroy the Trump Administration and its policies by meeting with the enemies of America.
Kerry is the only known “Swift Boater” to receive the Purple Heart for a self-inflicted wound.

Bon Chagrin, Napoleon Looks Like A Scared Rabbit

A live feed blunder saw cameras cut to new French president Emmanuel Macron having his make-up applied as the world waited for his first speech as French president.
His speech was beamed to millions around the globe but several news stations screened an unscheduled behind-the-scenes look at preparations thinking he was about to speak.
Viewers saw the 39-year-old unwittingly rehearsing his lines, drinking water and having powder applied to his face minutes before the biggest speech of his political career.
According to a May 3 published report from The Quebec Telegram, the mommy wife of France’s new Napoleon, 25 years his senior, dresses him and he “relies on the services of full-time makeup artists used by former French presidents Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande.  Hollande’s hairdresser was paid $10,829 dollars (€9895 euros) per month.
Doll up, Manny!

Meanwhile In France…Les Keystone Kops

From a new makeover to the French national flag to an unfortunate accident during the parade in Paris, it seemed like Bastille Day celebrations in France started off on the wrong foot Saturday.

The unlucky chain of events first started with two French police motorcycles crashing during a demonstration in front of President Emmanuel Macron and other guests. They did not exchange insurance information.

Later in the parade there was an apparent glitch in the colored smoke sprayed by the French Alphajets of the Patrouille de France. Instead of the tricolor blue, white and red of the French flag, one of the jets left a trail of red smoke instead of blue, creating an awkward and embarrassing mistake.

Trump Has Taken Measures More Hostile To Putin Than Those Enacted Under The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer

According to US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman, "The United States is ready to cooperate and forge a better relationship between our two countries. But that will only be possible when Russia chooses to become a more responsible partner.”
On Monday, the Trump Administration said 48 Russian diplomats and 12 members of Russia’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York would be expelled from the country. In addition, the Consulate in Seattle, WA will be closed. The Russian diplomats have seven days to leave the country. The justification for the expulsions was the poisoning of former Russian military intelligence Colonel Sergei Skripal convicted in Russia of spying for the UK and his daughter Yulia.
According to British authorities, Skripal and his daughter were poisoned by a nerve agent from a group of chemical compounds known as Novichok. The nerve agent was developed by the Soviet Union to circumvent the Chemical Weapons Convention.  This was the first time the military-grade nerve agent has been used in over 70 years.
The EU has called on Russia to urgently address the questions raised by the UK and the international community and to provide immediate, full and complete disclosure of its Novichok program to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
Since the public poisoning in Salisbury, the UK and Russia have witnessed relations deteriorate further with London expelling 23 diplomats and Moscow responding with similar measures. The UK has signaled it is preparing further measures against Russia, including possibly targeting Russians who "have obtained wealth by corruption."
In remarks to reporters at the Pentagon today, Secretary of Defense Gen. James Mattis said the March 4 attack in Salisbury involved the "pretty obvious" use of a chemical agent.
Mattis, a retired Marine general and former Senior NATO Commander, said he could recall a time when the U.S. and Russian militaries were training together for international peacekeeping missions amid hope of a post-Cold War partnership.
"That regrettably, by Russia's choice, is now a thing of the past," he said. "Russia has chosen to be a strategic competitor, even to the point of reckless activity. That's the only thing it can be called to the innocent people in Salisbury who were exposed, and possibly to the extent of being murdered by this stuff."
Pressed to be more specific in his accusation, Mattis said: "Attempted murder of a man and his daughter. How's that for starters?"
Asked whether this amounted to an act of war, Mattis said it is part of a pattern of Russian actions that President Vladimir Putin apparently believes can be plausibly denied. Mattis cited as examples Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea and its military intervention in eastern Ukraine, as well as its interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
"They are doing things they think are deniable," he said. "So, they're trying to break the unity of the Western alliance," referring to NATO, which joined in the denunciation of the Salisbury attack, announcing Tuesday that it will expel seven staffers from the Russian mission in Brussels and will deny the pending accreditation requests of three other workers there.
More than 20 countries on Monday announced they were expelling a total of more than 130 Russian diplomats. On Tuesday, Australia said it was kicking out two Russian diplomats described as undeclared intelligence officers. They have been given seven days to leave.
Mattis highlighted NATO's response, which carried undertones of Cold War-like tension, but declined to say what role he believes Putin had in the Salisbury attack and other actions designed to divide the West.
"I won't speculate. Certainly, he's responsible as the head of state. We all can draw our own conclusions," he said.
President Trump spoke by phone with the leaders of two key NATO allies, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The White House said that in both conversations the leaders expressed support for the West's response to the Salisbury poisoning, including NATO's expulsion of Russians.
Because of President Trump’s strong leadership and his willingness to punch Russia if it punches America or its allies, fourteen EU countries announced measures to expel Russian diplomats intelligence operatives in a single, unified policy decision.
To this I say…Trump haters, shut your effing pie hole and admit he has repeatedly taken measures more hostile to Putin than any enacted under The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer.
