To Spite President Trump

The Senate Judiciary Committee was scheduled to vote at 1:30 PM to send Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the floor for a Senate vote. The vote seemed all but inevitable after Senator Jeff Flake announced his support this morning.

Flake’s office released a statement announcing the Arizona lawmaker’s support for Kavanaugh. “After hearing more than 30 hours of testimony from Judge Kavanaugh earlier this month, I was prepared to support his nomination based on his view of the law and his record as a judge. In fact, I commented at the time that had he been nominated in another era, he would have likely received 90+ votes.”

It was widely reported Flake’s “good friend” Sen. Christopher Coons (D-CT) was near tears upon learning Flake would vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

Coons said, “Oh f—k,” then choked up, “We each make choices for our own reason. I’m struggling, sorry.”

Moments before the gavel was set to fall, Flake decided to make his support conditional. He would vote to advance Kavanaugh out of Committee but would not vote for him on the Senate floor unless the vote was delayed for not more than one week to allow for further investigation by the FBI of the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.

“I’ve been speaking to a number of people on the other side,” Flake told the Committee. “I think it would be proper to delay the floor vote for up to, but not more than, one week in order to let the FBI do an investigation limited in time and scope to the current allegations that are there.  I will vote to advance the bill to the floor with that understanding.”

He bent the knee ala Game of Thrones.  Nay, more like he grabbed his ankles.

Now that Kavanaugh’s nomination has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee, it falls to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to hammer out whether or not to request an FBI background check be reopened.

McConnell would likely only agree to such a maneuver if he thought the nomination likely to fail without Flake’s vote. That would require securing “yes” votes from two of the Senate’s three other undecided members: Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Joe Manchin (D-WV).

This charade will never end. The FBI will investigate the subjects mentioned by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and when nothing is discovered, the Democrats will have recruited more “victims” and demand more FBI investigations and on and on it will go. The FBI will become the Left’s Gestapo.  Count on it.

Dealing with the Left is like dealing with the Devil—it gains you nothing and costs you everything.

Guy Who Couldn’t Get Re-Elected By His Own Party Wants To Challenge Trump In 2020

Ever since January of this year, Sen. Jeff Flake (RINO-AZ), has had a bug up his ass.

Flake decided last year not to run for re-election in 2018 after opinion polls in his home state made it brutally clear he had zero chance of winning.  A central figure in the Never Trump movement, Flake recently compared Trump to the savage communist dictator Josef Stalin.

He is said to be exploring a possible run for president in 2020.  I’m sure he’s had his dangly parts tickled by Cap’n Bill Kristol who is desperate to primary President Trump.

Joseph Curl described the senator this way, “Jeff Flake has got it all: He’s tall, buff and handsome, with a made-for-TV smile. He lives in a huge house in a gated community (with high walls, of course), has a pretty blonde wife and five fabulous children. Plus, he’s a member of one of the most exclusive clubs in the World: The Senate.”

Curl continues, “The telegenic senator now spends more time in green rooms than he does in the Senate chamber, with liberal networks clamoring for a Republican who will diss the sitting president.”

“The mainstream media loves him now, slamming his fellow Republican at every turn, but if he were to run as a Republican, he’d suffer the same fate Mr. McCain did: The MSM turned on him and diced him up into little pieces.”

“Mr. Flake will do what all the others do when they leave Congress: Slide right through the revolving door and get a cushy job with a massive salary. That way he can build a bigger wall around his house.”

On May 29th, in a speech delivered at Harvard Law School's 2018 Class Day Flake criticized President Trump and Congress, saying the presidency has been "debased."

“Not to be unpleasant, but I do bring news from our nation’s capital. First, the good news: Your national leadership is… not good. At all. Our presidency has been debased by a figure who has a seemingly bottomless appetite for destruction and division and only a passing familiarity with how the constitution works.”

“And our Article I branch of government, the Congress (that’s me), is utterly supine in the face of the moral vandalism that flows from the White House daily. I do not think that the founders could have anticipated that the beauty of their invention might someday founder on the rocks of reality television, and that the Congress would be such willing accomplices to this calamity. Our most ardent enemies, doing their worst (and they are doing their worst), couldn’t hurt us more than we are hurting ourselves.”

“Now, you might reasonably ask, where is the good news in that?”

“Well, simply put: We may have hit bottom.”

“My sounding this alarm against a government that was elected under the Republican banner and that calls itself conservative makes me no less Republican or conservative. And opposing this president and much of what he stands for is not an act of apostasy — it is, rather, an act of fidelity.”

Jeff Flake: An Unremitting Failure

Jeff Flake, one of two nutcake senators from the Great State of Arizona was at it again today.

He chided the President for calling for unity during his State of the Union address last week and then following up with a series of blistering partisan attacks on Twitter and in Blue Ash, OH on Monday.

“The President said that the State of the Union address was meant to promote and encourage unity in government. Then why follow up less than a week later with this divisive and harmful rhetoric? 

On Monday, the President noted that "somebody" suggested Democrats were treasonous for not applauding after Trump noted the sharp drop in black unemployment levels. "Can we call that treason? Why not? They certainly don't seem to love our country very much." 

"Treason is not a punchline, Mr. President." He said Trump appears to not know what he's talking about, or how his words will be heard in the country and around the world.

"One who levels such a charge knows neither the meaning of treason nor the power that the words of a president carry," he said. "And if we are numb to such words, then we will surely regret that we failed to defend our colleagues in the Congress against such a vile remark. But our silence will also mark the day that we failed to recognize that this conduct in an American president simply is not normal."

Flake exclaimed that President Trump misunderstands why people stand and clap during State of the Union addresses. "Mr. President, respect is earned, not commanded. Applause signals approval of an idea, not loyalty toward one's country."

That, Mr. Flake, is precisely why the concept of treason rings true to everyone except you.

I have depicted the arrogant sumbitch Flake in a movie poster from the 1992 film “Bob Roberts”.  It’s a story in which populism no longer means the solidarity of the working class─a troubling revelation of division─race against race, worker against worker, with hate being stirred up to obscure the enemy; the profit-takers who are leaving companies stripped and dead and how the political process has been debased.

Remember, it was just last month that he compared President Trump to Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.

Suddenly Washington appears to be a den of traitors. For months, various Democratic politicians and commentators have all but accused President Trump or his family of treason. These accusations reflect the distemper that has taken hold of our politics. Calling opponents traitors has a long and dark history in our country—a history we would be wise not to repeat.

The Washington Examiner reported Senator Flake “floated a bid during a discussion with students of Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service:

“If President Trump decides to run for a second term, and all the energy in the Democratic Party right now is on the left, the far left, either Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and if the Democrats nominate somebody on their left, and we nominate somebody who is, right now, on our far right, there’s got to be a huge swath of voters in the middle looking for something else. I’ve always thought that time for an independent might be in the far future, it may not be that far. Now who that will be, we don’t know. And I do think that there will be a Republican challenge to the president as well. Somebody who just gets out there, probably with no hope of winning, but just to remind Republicans what we used to stand for, limited government, economic freedom, free trade, pro-immigration. And so, I think you’re going to see a very exciting election period coming up.”

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake’s speech on the Senate floor this morning absurdly ignored how the “free press” he chose to defend against President Trump colluded with Clinton, Inc. and the Democrat National Committee to destroy him.  It was what I would describe as a “deep state” oratory and a simultaneous job interview for MSNBC or CNN which shall be henceforth referred to as The Empire of Lies.

In his 2,117-word diatribe Flake decreed, “No politician will ever get to tell us what the truth is and is not. And anyone who presumes to try to attack or manipulate the truth to his own purposes should be made to realize the mistake and be held to account. That is our job here. And that is just as Madison, Hamilton, and Jay would have it.”

“Of course, a major difference between politicians and the free press is that the press usually corrects itself when it gets something wrong. Politicians don’t.”

We knew for days before Flake’s missive he intended to compare President Trump’s disdain for the “fake news” to the savage Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.  As more and more people became aware of his intent, he drew an unrelenting backlash and tried to walk it all back with this tweet:

Jeff Flake Proclaims The Second Coming Of Comrade Stalin

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) plans to deliver a speech later in the week torching President Trump’s attacks on the Empire of Lies known as the mainstream press.  He also intends to compare the President of the United States of America to Josef Stalin.

Flake’s senate term ends in January 2019.  From now until then, he intends to deliver a series of speeches outlining how Donald Trump’s presidency has impacted the country.

Excerpts of his speech were provided by Flake’s office to NBC’s Kasie Hunt.

“2017 was a year which saw the truth—objective, empirical, evidence-based truth—more battered and abused than any other time in the history of our country, at the hands of the most powerful figure in our government.”

“Mr. President, it is a testament to the condition of our democracy that our own president uses words infamously spoken by Josef Stalin to describe his enemies.”

“The free press is the despot’s enemy, which makes the free press the guardian of democracy. When a figure in power reflexively calls any press that doesn’t suit him ‘fake news’, it is that person who should be the figure of suspicion, not the press.”

“The similarities to Stalin should be a source of great shame for senators,” Flake will add.

Flake’s specious criticism is the benchmark of someone whose thirst for stupid is unquenchable; his ignorance of Stalin’s savagery alarming.  Upon the death of Stalin in 1953, the millions he incarcerated cheered at the demise of one of history’s most murderous dictators.

In Episode 1 of “Russia’s War:  Blood Upon The Snow” , the opening narration reveals to the viewer: “Unknown to the Soviet people, before his death Vladimir Lenin drew up a testament; an assessment of the leaders who would come after him.  The outstanding personalities he recognized were Leon Trotsky and Josef Stalin. But his postscript contained a political time bomb─a condemnation of Stalin’s character and his suggestion that Stalin’s post of General Secretary should be taken from him.  The testament was never made public.”

“Blood Upon The Snow” features rarely seen archival war photographs and astonishing footage from over a dozen countries...some of which are believed to be the only filmed evidence of some of the most infamous WWII atrocities, such as the Katyn Forest Massacre of 4,000 Polish officers by the Soviets.  The filmmakers assert it is the only documentary evidence of Stalin's Order 227, his brutal decree to embattled troops at Stalingrad that any Red Army soldier in retreat would be shot by "blocking units" bringing up the rear.  It provides remarkable insight into what led to the death of 65 million Soviets during Stalin’s reign of terror.

Comrade Flake’s contempt is enraging.  He is employing something purely Soviet:  Make accusations and then end things by suggesting someone be locked up in a psychiatric facility.

Will President Trump face a challenge from within his own party in 2020?

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake (R) seems to think so. On Sunday, Flake told ABC’s “This Week” that if the president did not change his approach, he “is going to leave a huge swath of voters looking for someone else.” 

Flake, a frequent Trump critic, added that the president is “probably inviting a Republican challenge.”

Any challenger to Trump would face enormous hurdles. 

The president remains popular among Republican voters, even as he endures historically low approval numbers at large. In most polls, around 80 percent of GOP voters give Trump the thumbs-up.

Still, Trump would become much more vulnerable if Republicans suffered major losses in the midterm elections set for November 2018.  

And it’s easy to see why some of his most strident GOP critics might think it’s worthwhile to run against him, even if victory is a long-odds bet.

But who is most likely to do it?

Stanage thinks Ted Cruz, John Kasich, Ben Sasse, Jeff Flake and Susana Martinez might entertain such a challenge.

I like Sasse and New Mexico Governor Martinez, but Trump mopped the floor with Cruz and the mailman’s son.  Flake is a miserable RINO.  Not a chance in hell of leaving the ring without a broken and bloodied nose.

Riddle me this:  Why is Stanage pushing this bilge?
