On Thursday afternoon, President Trump informed Speaker Pelosi her “public relations” trip to Afghanistan, Egypt, and Brussels has been postponed so that she can stay in DC and negotiate with him.

The President canceled Pelosi’s flight just one hour before she was scheduled to depart — Pelosi and other lawmakers were on the bus en route to the airport.

Trump told her to fly commercial on her own dime.

According to Fox News reporter, Chad Pergram, furious phone calls are flying back and forth from The Hill to the State to the Pentagon and White House.

Democrats Overplayed Their Hand In Shutting Down The Government

Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell castigated Democrats from the Senate floor saying Democrats forced a "completely avoidable" shutdown. "What we have just witnessed on the floor was a cynical decision by Senate Democrats to shove aside millions of Americans for the sake of irresponsible political games." 

“This is completely unfair and uncompassionate for my Democratic colleagues to filibuster government funding, harm our troops and jeopardize health coverage for 9 million children (CHIP) because extreme elements of their base want illegal immigration to crowd out every other priority,” McConnell said.

Only five Democrats voted to advance the bill:  West Virginia’s Joe Manchin, Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Missouri’s Claire McCaskill and newly elected Sen. Doug Jones of Alabama.

Republicans who broke ranks by voting against the Continuing Resolution to keep the government open were Rand Paul of Kentucky, Little Miss Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Utah’s Mike Lee and Jeff “Nutcake” Flake of Arizona.  John McCain was absent while battling brain cancer.

CNN’s Martin Savage conducted a roundtable interview with five Democrats from Youngstown, Ohio. Each of them crossed party lines to vote for President Trump in 2016.

Savage’s questions focused on the voters’ opinions of his first year in office. The responses from the diverse group of voters left the interviewer’s jaw on the floor and serves as further evidence a majority of Americans do not agree with shuttering the government over the DACA program.
