The last time the Cleveland Browns won a game was on December 24th, 2016. They finished the 2017 season without a single win making them the second team in league history to finish with a 0–16 record.  Last month Head Coach Hue Jackson got the axe.

Ask any Cleveland fan about their team’s execution and they’ll answer, “I’m in favor of it.”

Browns GM John Dorsey, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is “open to hiring a woman as Cleveland’s next head coach.”

Schefter inferred the team “would like to interview former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for the job.”

Former Pro Bowler, Joe Theismann, once said, “Nobody in football should be called a genius.  A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.”

So, word got back to the team and Dorsey was forced to issue a statement saying, "Our coaching search will be thorough and deliberate, but we are still in the process of composing the list of candidates and Secretary Rice has not been discussed.”

Rice, who has been eyed as an eventual candidate to replace the bungling Roger Goodell as NFL Commissioner, posted to her Facebook account that she was “not ready to coach.”

When you watch the embedded video below, I hope you will enlarge it to appreciate the imagery within.  The back-story, according to Deseret News, is that Grammy-nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker chose to collaborate with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on a rendition of “Amazing Grace” following a speech by Rice at a BYU Management Society event in April 2012.

The duo recorded the track in July 2013 and a year later, Baker flew to San Francisco to record the video with Rice. Now, two years after the recording process began, the video has been released just as Americans across the country gather in celebration of the country and those who have sacrificed so much for freedom.

The song is currently available as a single through iTunes. According to representatives at Shadow Mountain Records, all proceeds from the sale of the single will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.

I must confess I had a lump in my throat watching the beauty and grace of these two women and the truly wonderful gift they have given us on this Independence Day.

On November 1, 2011 Norah O’Donnell, CBS Chief White House Correspondent, interviewed Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asking her thoughts on becoming vice president.

During the interview Rice emphatically stated, “I love being a university professor.  I’m not interested in being vice president.  I’m a policy person not a politician.”

On Sunday, December 18, 2011, Joseph Curl offered his conjecture that Rice is reportedly getting “antsy” to get back into the political game.

Curl writes, “…her selection would be a giant chess move to counter the expected replacement of Vice President Joseph R. Biden with Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Sure, the White House denies and denies, but that should really make any political watcher more suspicious. One White House insider even told me that the position swap was the only reason Mrs. Clinton joined the administration in the first place.”
