The U.S. Department of
Justice said yesterday it would not release an unredacted Mueller Report to
Congress if Democrats moved forward with their plan to hold Attorney
General Bill Barr in contempt.
The Department’s latest
move comes despite the fact that at least two lawmakers — Rep. Doug Collins
(R-GA) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) — have already viewed a less-redacted
version of Mueller's report than the one Barr made public last month.
The Department is
preparing to ask the White House to invoke executive privilege over Special Counsel Robert Mueller's entire report and underlying evidence.
If President Trump did
invoke executive privilege over the documents, it could tie up the report in a
court battle for months.
As the Democrats on the
House Judiciary Committee continue to bang their spoons on their high chairs, this
pointless shitshow is guaranteed to extend through 2020.
