This must be hell. There are mimes here. |
Before
arriving in Paris, Secretary of State John “Why The Long Face?” Kerry said of
the trip, “My visit to France is basically to share a big hug for Paris and
express the affection of the American people for France and for our friends
there who have been through a terrible time.”
He
told the French president, François Hollande, at the Elysée: “We share the pain
of the French people.”
Tim
Teeman described Kerry as “a guy apologizing and trying to make up lost
ground to a partner they have seriously pissed off.” The groveling Kerry
hugged and kissed the French president in a way that can
only be described as cringeworthy and not how straight men greet each other.
Following his speech in the Salon de Arcades, just to put the
butter on the croissant, he brought the aging and no longer relevant folk singer
James Taylor to the dais to serenade the assembled group with his old standard,
“You’ve Got A Friend.”
Can you say, “Je suis en retard?”
