The Purge: What Do You Wear To A Donkey Funeral?

According to a published report from NBC News, “A shake-up is underway at the Democratic National Committee as several key longtime officials have lost their posts, exposing a still-raw rift in the party and igniting anger among those in its progressive wing who see retaliation for their opposition to DNC Chairman Tom Perez.”
The report continues, “The removal and demotion of a handful of veteran operatives stood out, as did what critics charge is the over-representation of Clinton-backed members on the Rules and Bylaws Committee, which helps set the terms for the party's presidential primary, though other Sanders and Ellison backers remain represented.”
The ousters come ahead of the DNC's first meeting in Las Vegas this week.
Complaints began immediately after party officials saw a list of Perez's appointments to DNC committees and his roster of 75 "at-large" members, who are chosen by the chair.
Superdelegates not only vote on who the presidential Democratic nominee will be, but also vote on party rules.  The party operatives that are planned to be named as superdelegates include holdovers from Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.  The group also includes union leaders and, for good measure, an illegal alien.
Those who have been pushed out include:
Ray Buckley, the New Hampshire Democratic chairman and longtime DNC official who ran against Perez for chair before backing Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn. Buckley lost his spots on the Executive Committee and DNC Rules Committee.
James Zogby, the president of the Arab American Institute and prominent Sanders backer, is no longer co-chair of the Resolutions Committee and is off the Executive Committee, a spot he has held since 2001.
Alice Germond, who has been on the DNC since the 1980s, was a vocal Ellison backer, was removed from her at-large appointment to the DNC.
Barbra Casbar Siperstein, the Party’s first transgender member supported Ellison and Buckley, was tossed from the Executive Committee.
Two days ago, the RNC sent out an email blast of a fake schedule for the DNC’s fall meeting mocking the problems Dems are having refighting the 2016 presidential election.
The mock schedule announced that to RSVP, one should email party chairman "Professor Tom Perez" at Thomas.Perez@brown.edu, taking a swipe at Perez's fellowship at the notoriously left-wing Brown University.
The first item on the agenda are opening remarks from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), who is in fact scheduled to speak at the "Women's Convention" later in the month.  The next day includes presentations entitled, "Where is Michigan?: A geographical presentation of what exists between New York and Los Angeles," "No Money, Mo Problems: Investments the DNC would like to make─but can’t" and "The Menendez Mess: How to keep a convicted felon in the United States Senate."
On Day 3, presentations include "Weinstein Shopping Spree: How to spend the $300,000 in money we won’t return from Harvey Weinstein," "Litmus Tests Over Lunch: A guest lecture by Brown University Professor Tom Perez on banishing pro-life Democrats and mandating support for single-payer," "Moral Victories: Jon Ossoff (GA-06), Rob Quist (MT-AL), Archie Parnell (SC-5), Jim Thompson (KS-4) discuss why they actually won their special elections" and "Impeachment or Else: Billionaire donor Tom Steyer lays out his requirement that candidates back a baseless impeachment effort that alienates the vast majority of voters."

Mean Tweets: New DNC Chair Edition

The Battle For DNC Chair: The Obama/Clinton Wing And The Bernie Faction

Dave Weigel noted at The Washington Post, “…outside of the DNC, progressive writers and organizers have begun to ring alarms about an Ellison defeat. On Friday morning, a number of groups that had endorsed Ellison, including MoveOn.org, 350 Action and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, asked DNC members “to be heroes” and back the Congressman’s campaign. If Keith Ellison is DNC Chair, we can hit the ground running—and because of the pre-existing trust that exists between Keith and the grassroots, every state party would have a head start harnessing the power of the resistance.”

Officially endorsed by Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, Ellison defended Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam when he was a student at the University of Minnesota Law School.

When a tape surfaced of Ellison speaking to supporters in 2010 in which he said, “The United States foreign policy in the Middle East is governed by what is good or bad through a country of seven million people.  A region of 350 million all turns on a country of seven million. Does that make sense? Is that logic? Right? When the Americans who trace their roots back to those 350 million get involved, everything changes. Can I say that again?” the Anti-Defamation League issued a statement in response saying Ellison’s comments were disqualifying and he was promoting anti-Semetic stereotypes which stood in contrast with the DNC position that a strong and secure Israel is vital to the interests of the United States.

The Muslim fabulist came under fire in 2007 when he declared the Bush Administration’s actions to the actions of the Nazis in 1933.  He believed President Bush had violated Americans’ civil liberties after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

During the 2006 election, Ellison was widely criticized for receiving donations from The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) which has ties to the terrorist group Hamas.

Ellison is pushing for impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

Longtime Democrat loyalist, Alan Dershowitz is vehemently opposed to Ellison becoming the DNC Chair.  Dershowitz wrote:
“There has been powerful push from the hard-left of the Democratic Party, led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), to elect Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN.) chairman.  If he is elected, I will quit the party after 60 years of loyal association and voting.”
“My loyalty to my country and my principles and my heritage exceeds any loyalty to my party.  I will urge other like-minded people—centrist liberals—to follow my lead and quit the Democratic Party if Ellison is elected chairman.  We will not be leaving the Democratic Party we have long supported.  The Democratic Party will be leaving us!”
When you’ve lost Dershowitz it’s pretty much over.  Democrats are watching a slow motion disaster unfold before their very eyes.
By the time The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer left office, not only did he have to surrender the White House to Donald Trump, he had presided over the national collapse of his party. During his two terms as president his Party lost a net 13 Senate seats, 63 House seats, 9 governorships and more than 1,000 state and local elected positions leaving Democrats in the worst shape in 100 years.  Hillary won only 486 of the country’s 3113 counties.
Who will win?  Stay tuned…

They’re Getting Sloppy Over At Obama’s Ministry Of Propaganda

Watching television yesterday I distinctly remember hearing an anchor on one of the cable news channels clearly say The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer would take to the podium at 4:30 PM in the White House Press Room to make a televised statement on the slaughter of three Baton Rouge police officers.  His statement would follow the presser held at 4:00 PM by Col. Mike Edmonson of the Louisiana State Police, Governor John Bel Edwards and other top officials to release the latest information regarding the shootings.

When 4:30 came and no president stood at the podium, the aforementioned anchor noted that word from the White House was the “president will be delayed because he is putting the final touches on his statement.”  Turns out that was bullshit.

The unvarnished truth is The Insufferable Airhorn was actually speaking to the 2016 Netroots Nation at 4:30 PM.  I know what you’re thinking.  Surely on a matter of such import our president would not let politics take center stage during a tragedy.

Go to this link and you will see the insipid video including the following caption:

July 16, 2016 4:30 PM EDT - President Obama speaks to progressive Netroots Nation activists in a video where he shares wisdom "from the future" to the people of 2008. (Netroots Nation)

Because I share your hope that our fearful leader wouldn’t do such a thing I checked and found this Tweet from another news source:
Ol’ Jug Ears entered the briefing room and began speaking to the nation at 5:18 PM.  To prove it here’s a Tweet from CNN’s Jake Tapper.  NOTE:  The Tweet now carries a time stamp of 8:18 PM, but if you follow this link it carries the original time stamp of 5:18 PM
Why was the Netroots Nation conference so damned important?  Let me ‘splain.  The Guardian, noted liberal rag, published a report yesterday titled “Democrats Struggle For Unity As Protesters Swarm Netroots Convention.”
The surprise walk-out of protesters from a conference of US progressives in St Louis this weekend forced the cancellation of its panel on “translating millennial votes into power”.

Organizers of Netroots—which was set up in 2006 to celebrate internet bloggers “gathering virtually in the new public square”—put on a brave face despite being upstaged by events in real public squares.
“Our next president just pledged to do everything we have been campaigning for,” said Executive Director Raven Brooks after Clinton addressed the conference via a recorded video and promised to take modest steps toward campaign finance reform.

“The Progressive Left is in the ascendance in this country,” added Keith Ellison, one of the few Democratic congressmen to back Sanders but, like many leaders in Washington, now sliding reluctantly behind the Clinton campaign.
This year’s Netroots Nation featured a scarcity of A-list Democratic lawmakers. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Reps. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Mark Takano (D-CA) and Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) appeared on panels, but none received time on the main stage and, similarly, no candidates were showcased.

Despite the official optimism about post-Sanders unity, behind the scenes, the mood is described as “subdued” and the movement as on a knife’s edge.

The knife’s edge imperils everything liberals progressives have battled for in their efforts to “fundamentally transform” America.  It jeopardizes their longing to shift the balance of power in the Supreme Court for decades.

Hillary must never be elected president.  The fate of our nation is in the hands of the voters.
