The mailman’s son has contended for months, despite winning
only his home state, that he was the best candidate to win a contested
convention in Cleveland. His delusional
buffoonery eschewed belly laughs each time he uttered that sentiment. Even his Facebook
post last night was unbelievably absurd.
His commitment to
stay in the race seemed reinforced by a Twitter post
parodying the “Star Wars” opening crawl.
He was scheduled to address the Indiana Primary results at
10:45 this morning when he abruptly canceled his press conference in
Virginia. The Associated Press is reporting that three
campaign officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the
unmitigated fool would announce he is suspending his bid for the presidency
from his home state at 5:00 PM this afternoon.
No word yet on whether he will continue to model his collection of tin foil hats.
