Berserkers

The most famous Alinsky community organizer of all time.

The stench of American politics has left me with a sick-to-my-stomach feeling.  The GOP and the so-called “conservative movement” has descended into schizophrenia.

I get that our leftist overlords aspire to proliferate the fundamental transformation of America promised eight years ago by the community organizer from Chicago.  I get that these creatures have called conservatives hideous pejoratives.

Nancy Pelosi called Republicans “legislative arsonists.”  Jon Favreau, President Obama’s speechwriter, called Republicans “hostage takers.”  Former Senior White House Advisor, Dan Pfeiffer declared in September 2013 that the “White House would not negotiate with people with a bomb strapped to their chest.”  The president himself linked congressional Republicans opposed to the Iranian nuclear deal with hard-liners who chant “death to America,” saying they are “making a common cause with the Republican caucus.”  And it was he, who famously said, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun” at a Philadelphia fundraiser in 2008 noting, “Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl.  I’ve seen Eagles fans.”  And let us not forget the lovely rejoinder of Senator Angus King (I-ME) who said “right-wing extremists are guilty of murder.”  And last, but certainly not least, the eco-maniac Al Gore imparted his thoughts about Republicans shutting down the government over the despised Obamacare law as “political terrorism”.

I have listened and watched as “conservatives” have excoriated Donald Trump for his vulgarity and incivility.  Let me state for the record I am no Trump fan, but damn, I never once surmised he didn’t have America’s best interests at heart.

He’s come down hard on radical Islamist terrorists saying what we all know to be true—that they’re chopping people’s heads off and burning alive hostages in steel cages.  Do we really believe that civility is called for against such savages?  Christians are being slaughtered in the Middle East and the State Department pussy-foots around the subject of whether or not to declare these acts genocide.

I have seen fellow conservatives call the GOP front-runner the next Hitler.  Really?  What’s worse, some on the right have the temerity to assert they would cast a vote for Hillary rather than Trump.

Trump is not tearing apart the Republican Party.  Insulting and marginalizing him is tearing us apart.  Don’t mistake what I am saying.  There is plenty of fodder out there to mock him.  I am as guilty as the next person of such mockery, but when it comes to taking back our country from the thieves on the Left, I will cast my vote for a Republican and not some aging criminal in sensible shoes and Mao-style pantsuits or a milquetoast socialist with a bad case of dandruff.
