Time Is Running Out To Nominate Your Favorite Blogs For The Fifth Annual Paul Revere Award

The deadline for nominating your favorite small blog for the Fifth Annual Paul Revere Award is midnight ET Saturday, June 10.

We’ve got some amazing blogs already listed. Have we forgotten any? You be the judge.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, the Paul Revere Award is our humble attempt at paying homage to the brave and resolute men and women who are the modern-day offspring of the American Revolution’s pamphleteers. Those colonial pioneers faced violent suppression from a powerful ruling class but their simple pamphlets proved to be more powerful.

From today through midnight ET Saturday, June 10, we will accept nominations of bloggers who, in the view of our readers, deserve to be recognized.

Please nominate the blog or blogs you wish to see win the Fifth Annual Paul Revere Award in the comments section below. Just provide a link to the blog(s) you’re nominating and we will take it from there.

Each winner will receive a personalized award in the form of a badge which can be displayed on their website if they so choose.

We Proudly Announce The Addition Of Eleven Blogs To Our Right Jabs Blogroll

A good man and proud Texan is the proprietor of Cry and Howl. On Sunday Steve presented twelve deserving small blogs with the coveted Cry and Howl Conservative Blog Award.

His criterion for the award is two-fold: the blogger should demonstrate genuine patriotism and their hard work in the conservative blogosphere should garner recognition amongst like-minded fellow travelers. We also note that two of the recipients are also winners of the Fourth Annual Paul Revere Award presented in June of this year: Bunkerville and Earl of Taint.

We would greatly appreciate your taking a moment to check out these sites. It was Voltaire who noted, “Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm in the world.”

2016 Paul Revere Award: The Nominees Thus Far

On Tuesday, I announced the Fourth Annual Paul Revere Award to honor bloggers whose work was filled “with the breathings of their heart.” They are the good people who feed our soul—who make us laugh at ourselves or life—and restore our buoyancy in a troubled world. They champion freedom of expression while holding down jobs, raising their families and/or selflessly providing care for loved ones.

These often overlooked bloggers deserve to be recognized for their work. What greater honor is there than to be recognized by their peers and their loyal readers?

Fourth Annual Paul Revere Award

In 2013 I decided to honor bloggers whose work was filled “with the breathings of their heart.” I refer to the bloggers whose sites are small in comparison to the “corporate” blogs that have an army of writers, resources and capital. These are the good people who feed our soul—who make us laugh at ourselves or life—and restore our buoyancy in a troubled world. They champion freedom of expression.

The brave and resolute men and women behind those blogs hold down jobs and raise their families or selflessly provide care for loved ones. Unfortunately, they are often overlooked. They possess an unwavering dedication to inform and warn their readers.

I chose Paul Revere as the icon for the award because he was an American patriot whose legendary “Midnight Ride” to warn the colonists of Massachusetts before the historic battles at Lexington and Concord played a vital role in America’s struggle to gain independence from Britain.

Paul Revere was not born to wealth—he was an ordinary man who lived an extraordinary life. Revere was a patriot, a businessman, an involved citizen, and a popular and well-respected member of his community.

An obituary in the Boston Intelligence solemnly noted, "Seldom has the tomb closed upon a life so honorable and useful."

Revere is credited by the Central Intelligence Agency as the creator of the first Patriot intelligence network on record.

This year’s award is a representation of Dee Clement’s Paul Revere bronze sculpture located in Heritage Park in Cerritos, CA.

Each winner will receive a personalized award in the form of a badge which they can place on their website if they so choose.
