Smear Merchants On The Left And Now On The Right

The truly talented smear merchants come from the Left.  The hive is running with the meme that Laura Ingraham, radio talk show host and a speaker at last night’s RNC Convention, did something grotesque.

The über-Left website Crooks and Liars noted:
“That thing did actually happen. At the end of her speech, Laura Ingraham appeared flew (sic) the Nazi salute in honor of her hero, Führer Drumpf.”
“This will become more common in the next few months, I predict. Along with loyalty pledges and brownshirt armies.”
Known racist Tariq Nasheed, tweeted, “Earlier on my radio show I talked about how the RNC is like a Nazi rally. & tonight speaker Laura Ingraham does this.”
We’re familiar with these tactics but I’m having a difficult time reconciling why T. Becket Adams, a Staff Correspondent for The Washington Examiner, let this kind of evil creep into his Twitter feed.
The actual caption associated with the photograph reads:

Adams has written, “Don’t expect me to support Trump just to make you feel better about your decision to sell out liberty.”  Alright, Mr. Adams, your opinion is duly noted but stooping to the level of the smear merchants on the Left is classless.  Yours was not the act of a conservative.  It smacked of a hard-liner for the other side.

Did you even see her speech?  She ripped Hillary and drew raucous applause when she eviscerated the press poodles for their anti-conservative bias.

“To all my friends up there in the press:  You all know why, in your heart, Donald Trump won the nomination. You know it. You know why he won it?” she asked. “Because he dared to call out the phonies, the frauds, and the corruption that has gone unexposed and uncovered for far too long. Too long!  Do your job!”

Hillary Must Be As Nervous As A Virgin At A Prison Rodeo

As speaker after speaker laid out the case against Hillary Clinton’s tortured relationship with the truth and as delegates on the floor of the Republican National Convention rose to their feet chanting, “Lock her up!  Lock her up!  Lock her up!” Donald Trump’s opponent must be as nervous as a virgin at a prison rodeo.

In a published report by The Wall Street Journal, the problem for the unindicted felon is further complicated by the fact that 22 million people tuned in to watch the brutal attacks on her during the first night of the convention.  Fox News averaged 6.35 million viewers and CNN drew 3.94 million viewers while MSNBC attracted almost 2 million viewers.

Lock Her Up!

The first night of the Republican National Convention focused on the safety and security of America.  Each speaker who took the stage had powerful words that expressed what so many outside The Beltway have been feeling for nearly eight years.

As the television cameras panned the convention floor there was an array of “Hillary for Prison” signs.  When the mother of murdered Sean Smith, a victim of the Benghazi attacks, spoke so movingly about the lies she’d been told by Clinton someone from the floor yelled out, “Hillary for prison!”  Smith acknowledged them saying, “That’s right, Hillary for prison!  She deserves to be in stripes!”

One speaker after another spoke to the failings of the Obama Administration, and in particular, the woman who headed the Administration’s foreign policy.  It was noted that neither she nor The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer would name the global threat of radical Islamic terrorism.  The fieriest speech came from former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

The idea that Clinton is a criminal who should be in prison is something Americans very strongly believe and it’s reflected in poll after poll.  Her honest and trustworthy numbers are in the tank and continue to slip.

It was extremely gratifying to watch and listen as Hillary figuratively took body blow after body blow.  The progressives are crying foul intimating that “the heated rhetoric” crossed a line and signals an “ugly degradation in American politics.”  Who the hell’s fault is that?

Hillary is universally despised for her graft, corruption, lies and unaccountability under the rule of law.  Her minions point to FBI Director James Comey’s unwillingness to indict her for her email scandal as evidence of her innocence.  This is the flimsiest of rationales and Americans know it.

As the evening neared the end, Lt. Col. Michael Flynn (US Army Ret.) walked onto the stage, he didn’t hold back describing the weak and spineless leadership of this Administration.  It wasn’t long before the delegates began chanting, “Lock her up!  Lock her up!  Lock her up!”

Dejected Chris Christie: I’m Not Livid At Being Passed Over For VP

Chris Christie was spotted near the front row on the floor of the RNC Convention in Cleveland yesterday.  Because John McCormack of The Hill had reported overhearing a conversation with an unidentified man and Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort in which Manafort said Christie was “livid” he’d been passed over for the VP slot, CNN’s Dana Bash interviewed him for his reaction.

Our cub reporter juuuust happened to be there moments before the cameras started rolling and captured poor Chris with his shinebox just before putting it down to make nice for the televised interview.
He thinks he's going to be Trump's transition manager.  Meh.

Rudy Giuliani: There Is No More Time Left To Revive Our Great Country

I hope those folks who were interested in watching the first night of the RNC Convention from Cleveland did so without the filter of network or cable news channels.  I don’t need network news anchors’ to tell me what I’m seeing and hearing and I’m certainly not willing to listen to the foolish pundits on cable.  I opted to watch the convention on C-SPAN.
“Make America Safe Again” was the theme for the first night and one speaker chosen to touch on this theme was Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith who was one of four Americans killed in the hours-long embassy attack in Benghazi.  As the delegates listened to the pain in the grieving mother’s voice, the cameras panned the floor of the convention capturing the tears shed by so many as she angrily declared that she “personally” blamed Clinton for her son’s death.

"In an email to her daughter shortly after the attack, Hillary Clinton blamed it on terrorism," said Smith.  "But when I saw Hillary Clinton at Sean’s coffin ceremony, just days later, she looked me squarely in the eye and told me a video was responsible.  Since then, I have repeatedly asked Hillary Clinton to explain to me the real reason why my son is dead. I’m still waiting."

The Hill reported MSNBC's Chris Matthews was asked for his reaction to the speech:
"I don't understand why the Republicans would choose to put this on prime-time television when they have such wonderful stories of American heroism to speak to the American people.  I think it was wrong.”
"I don't care what that woman up there, the mother, has felt," he continued. "Her emotions are her own. But for the country in choosing a leader, it's wrong to have someone get up there and tell a lie about Hillary Clinton. It's not true. It's logically not true. I think it's wrong that they ruined their evening with this."
For me, the most powerful moment in the convention’s first night was the speech given by “America’s Mayor”, Rudy Giuliani.  I bear no shame in saying that I rose to my feet hearing his impassioned words.  Here are some excerpts from his speech.  (The video is embedded below in case you missed it.)
“In the last seven months, there have been five major Islamic extremist terrorists attacks on us and our allies. We must not be afraid to define our enemy.”
“It is Islamic extremist terrorism. I did not say all of Islam. I said Islamic extremist terrorism.”
“Failing to identify them properly maligns decent Muslims around the world. It also sets up a fear of being politically incorrect that can have serious consequences. And it has.”
“This is why our enemies see us as weak and vulnerable.”
“To defeat Islamic extremist terrorism we must put them on defense. If they are at war against us—which they have declared—we must commit ourselves to unconditional victory against them.”
“This includes undoing one of the worst deals America ever made—Obama’s Nuclear Agreement with Iran that will eventually let them become a nuclear power and put billions of dollars back into a country that the world’s biggest state sponsor of terrorism.”
“It was Hillary Clinton who advocated for the overthrow of Qaddafi in Libya. Now Libya is in chaos. Hillary Clinton is accountable for this and much more.”
“Her dereliction of duty and failure to keep her people safe played a major role in the horrific Islamic terrorist murders on September 11-12, 2012 in Benghazi which claimed the lives of four brave Americans; our Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, U.S. Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, and CIA agents Tyrone S. Woods, and Glen Doherty.”
“And Clinton, and the Obama administration, for political reasons lied about the purpose of the attacks including her lying directly to the families of those who were killed.”
“Hillary Clinton’s answer to Congress about the death of these four brave Americans because of her failures as Secretary of State was ‘what difference at this point does it make?’”
“Watch the video for yourself and see the arrogant disregard for American lives lost unnecessarily. Make up your own mind.”
“Anyone who can say that it makes no difference how or why people serving America are killed, should not be entrusted with the awesome responsibility to protect them and us and should not be allowed to be our Commander-in-Chief.”
“She is in favor of taking in Syrian refugees even though the Islamic state has told us they are going to put their operatives in these groups so they can carry out terrorist acts against us and our allies.”
“We can’t afford to repeat the mistakes of the past.”
“Hillary CIinton’s experience is the basis for her campaign. Well, Hillary Clinton’s experience is exactly the reason she should not be our president.”
“There is no more time for us left to revive our great country. No more time to repeat our mistakes of the past.”
