Former Texas
Congressman Beto O’Rourke, the guy who endorsed a mandatory gun buyback program,
removing tax exempt status for religious institutions, decriminalizing illegal
immigration and the climate alarmism of the Green New Deal, has dropped out of
the 2020 presidential race.
“Though it is difficult
to accept, it is clear to me now that this campaign does not have the means to
move forward successfully. My service to the country will not be as a candidate
or as the nominee,” O’Rourke told his followers on Twitter.
“Acknowledging this now
is in the best interests of those in the campaign; it is in the best interests
of this party as we seek to unify around a nominee; and it is in the best
interests of the country.”
Holy mother of pearl,
this guy has a helluva of an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
From fawning media coverage at his campaign launch, to the quiet fade into nothingness in the polls at the end, Beto O'Rourke simply never lived up to the hype. pic.twitter.com/0lBz5tq76t— Politics1.com (@Politics1com) November 1, 2019
