Oscar-winning
actress, singer, author and director Julie Andrews has spoken out against President
Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement
to battle climate change.
Andrews, best known for playing Mary Poppins, condemned the
announcement in a Facebook
post: “I try to focus on
humanitarian issues more than political ones but I am deeply disturbed by the
decision to withdraw America from the Paris Climate Agreement.”

Perhaps Miss Andrews,
a Briton who spends her time between Los Angeles and a chalet in the Bernese
resort town of Gstaad, Switzerland should be more concerned about radical Islamic
terrorism in the country of her birth given the fact just 12 days after the Manchester
attack and 10 weeks after the Westminster
atrocity London was the scene of another attack in which
seven people were killed and nearly 50 were injured in the heart of the British
capital on Saturday night.
