The 2016 general election is now on
like a pot of neck bones. As in
elections past the race begins in earnest after the Labor Day Weekend. On September 7 Matt Lauer, the Today show co-anchor, will moderate the
Commander-in-Chief Forum.
The one-hour forum will be televised
live on NBC and MSNBC at 8:00 PM (ET) from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
in New York City. Clinton and Trump will
appear back-to-back taking questions on national security, military affairs and
veterans’ issues. The forum is being hosted by the Iraq and
Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).
The announcement of Matt Lauer as moderator
for this event unleashed some blowback because he was a “notable member” of the
Clinton Global Initiative founded in 2005 by Bill Clinton and is the leadership
arm of the Clinton Foundation.
NBC
(the Nobody But Clinton network) has
vehemently declared, “Matt Lauer was not and is not a Clinton Global
Initiative member. He interviewed President
Clinton from a CGI conference for the Today
show’s live broadcast, not for the conference.”
Since deletions are the hallmark of
the Clinton political Mafioso it should come as no surprise that the Clinton
Global Initiative’s website removed his name from the list of prominent
journalists who clamber to be there. So,
of course, we are being asked to buy into the notion that Lauer has the blood
of righteousness coursing through his veins.
Will Lauer grill
Granny as fiercely as he did Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte? C’mon
man. The Clinton camp has already
been exposed as having planted
questions at the first congressional hearing on Benghazi in 2013 for the
Democratic chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. Bob Menendez
(D-NJ).
