The computer likes the Panthers
in this matchup. QB Cam Newton is
expected to return to the field for the Cats after he sat out last week’s game
against the Tampa Bay Bucs with a rib injury.
Fansided’s Henry McKenna thinks the
Lions will be “gunning to put a few good shots on his chest to see how those
ribs hold up. If Newton can bear the
beating, he can begin to develop a rapport with his new receiving core,
particularly first-round draft pick Kelvin Benjamin, who had a strong outing in
Week 1 with six receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Panthers’ defense
will need to keep the Lions’ big plays in check, limiting home run threats like
Johnson and Reggie Bush.”
The Lions offense looked
impressive against the Giants last week, but this Panthers defense isn’t the
Giants.
Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM ET from Bank of America Stadium.
GO
PANTHERS!
