Ten Buck Friday: The Haunting Of Harry Reid And The Democrats

With four days to go before Election Day, there is a palpable hope that control of the Senate will change hands.  The Democrats have had control of the Senate since 2006—eight years of purgatory for the American people.

The obstacle to bipartisan cooperation, Harry Reid has “piles of bills waiting for attention that could help Americans with jobs and help move the economy forward.”  Blocking GOP proposal after proposal after proposal, Reid has deliberately avoided tough votes that would embarrass The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer.

His strategy may have backfired.  Some are saying that not taking up GOP amendments gave embattled Democrats few chances to break with the president.  Their lockstep allegiance isn’t playing well and may portend a disastrous day at the ballot box.  Reid’s stifling hold on the Senate shaped the records they are defending this midterm.
Roll Call, which covers Capitol Hill, reported this week that “all of the most vulnerable Democrats voted with the president at least 96 percent of the time on the 120 votes on which he urged a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote.”  So, yeah, when The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer said his “policies are on the ballot, every single one of them,” you’d better believe they are.
Aaron Blake of The Washington Post cites the latest Harvard Institute of Politics poll which shows that Latinos, unmarried women and young people “have soured on the Democratic Party” and favor a GOP-controlled Senate.
Paraphrasing Dr. Charles Krauthammer, an anemic economy, governmental incompetence and the sense of national decline under this president and the minions in his party are the impetus for the current disenchantment.

Stuart Rothenberg opines that "President Barack Obama is about to do what no president has done in the past 50 years: Have two horrible, terrible, awful midterm elections in a row."

For the past nine weeks, a handful of conservative bloggers have taken part in a movement called Ten Buck Friday.  We highlighted a different senate race each week encouraging our readers to contribute $10 to the campaign coffers of Republican challengers to entrenched Democrats in Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, New Hampshire and North Carolina.

In this, our final posting before Election Day next Tuesday, our message is to ask you to volunteer by making phone calls, talking with friends, family, co-workers and neighbors encouraging them to exercise their right of franchise by casting their ballot.  Low turnout leads to bad government.  Make sure your vote counts to prevent a theft-proof election.  Let’s make this midterm a haunting experience for Harry Reid and his messiah.

How You Can Help Make Election Day Theft-Proof

VerifiedVoting.org indicates that 34 states have a requirement that allows voters the ability to verify their vote on a paper record or ballot.

You’re going to invest time on November 4th to cast your vote.  Please take just a few more minutes to verify that the vote you cast is for the candidate/party you intended.  Take a lesson from Illinois State Representative candidate Jim Moynihan who cast his vote in early voting in Cook County.  He tried to cast a vote for himself but the machine he used cast the vote for his opponent.  The same thing happened in a number of races when he tried to vote for a Republican and the machine registered a vote for a Democrat.

Moynihan notified an election judge at his polling place and demonstrated that it continued to cast a vote for the opposing candidate’s party.  He was eventually allowed to vote for Republican candidates and the machine was removed from service due to a “calibration error.”

Katie Pavlich notes, “This machine error was visible, what about the changes these machines are making to votes cast for Republicans that aren't visible? How many registered voters have had their votes and participation in the process stolen as a result of ‘faulty’ machines?”

Cook County is the cradle of corruption.  Democrats are terrified that control of the Senate will be wrested from their control.  The desperation includes dead people voting and liberal activists in Colorado who think it’s “truly awesome” to illegally fill out discarded ballots in favor of Democrats so votes “are put to good use.”  These are just a few egregious examples.  There are many, many more.

Voter fraud is something the Democrats deny, deny, deny.  Take a moment to look at the map below.  It indicates the red and blue counties following the 2012 presidential election.  If you go to the link it is interactive.

If your polling place is in a blue county, you’ll want to make sure you have your vote audited.  Before you head out, check out this map that indicates the type of voting equipment your polling place will be utilizing.
Far too many states use unreliable and insecure electronic voting machines.  Is yours one of them?
There’s an app for that.  It’s called the Election Protection Smartphone app.  You can download it here.  It allows you to confirm your registration status, look up your polling place, review key voting rules and regulations for your state, see what type of machine you’ll be voting on and allows you to contact Election Protection via phone or email to report a problem.
Finally, too many people don’t take the time to learn about candidates on the down ballot, specifically judges.  Judges become valuable tools for a certain political party.  Find out which judge is conservative and insure that the Constitution cannot be skirted in the manner in which it currently is.  Check the links below to find out which judicial candidate you should cast your vote for.  Don’t blow this part.

Carolina Panthers Vs Seattle Seahawks

Seattle heads to Charlotte for its third meeting in as many years against the Carolina Panthers.  The game kicks off at 1:00 PM ET from Bank of America Stadium and airs on CBS.

The Seahawks are 3-3 and the Panthers are 3-3-1.  Seattle’s three losses were to the Chargers, the Cowboys and the Rams.  The Steelers, Ravens and Packers have bested the Panthers.  Despite those three losses Carolina still sits atop the NFC South.  What luck!

Seven players are out with injuries and two are questionable starts and the Panthers’ running game is among the worst in the league.  Cam Newton has been lackluster of late and I have screamed at the TV because Coach Rivera didn’t put QB Derek Anderson in when it became obvious that Newton was acting like a prima donna.

While it is true that “on any given Sunday, any team in the NFL can beat any other team,” I’m not so sure about today’s contest.  Don’t get me wrong, I’d love my Angry Kitties to pluck the Seahawks, but honestly I don’t see that happening.

Everybody but everybody is predicting a Seahawks win.

The Niners have a bye week so I can’t rag on Proof and Woodsterman.  If the game becomes too painful to watch, I’ll catch the game between Da Bears and Patriots and then wait for the primetime game between the Packers and the Saints.

GO ANGRY KITTIES?

Alabama Vs Tennessee

Alabama travels to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville to face the Tennessee Volunteers in a game scheduled for 7:30 PM ET that will air on ESPN2.

Four years after leaving Tennessee to become USC’s Head Coach following Pete Carrolls’ departure from Southern Cal to coach the Seattle Seahawks there is still a palpable hatred for Alabama’s Offensive Coordinator Lane Kiffin.

I expect there will be a lot of commotion in the beginning of the game considering Kiffin’s mom told CBS Sports, “I’m scared to death for his safety…I want him to be in the press box.”

Knowing that Vols fans are going to be on Kiffin like stink on manure, Head Coach Nick Saban has indicated Kiffin will be on the sidelines with him during the game.  The Alabama State Police, who have had a presence protecting Bama’s coaching staff since the days of the legendary Bear Bryant, will have their hands full I’m sure.

No. 4 Alabama is coming off its 59-0 annihilation of Texas A&M and the Vols were stung in their 34-3 loss to Ole Miss last week.  The game looks like it will be lop-sided in favor of my beloved Crimson Tide.

Alabama has struggled on the road.  The Vols will be motivated to stop Amari Cooper’s running game and intimidate QB Blake Sims.  The season is past the halfway point and the game has implications for a potential bowl game.

Given the emotions surrounding Kiffin’s return to Knoxville, this should be a good game.

ROLL TIDE ROLL!

And since no football post would be complete without pom-poms, please enjoy this photograph of a Bama beauty twirling her baton.

The Pariah Messiah

An amusing chain of events has conspired to give hope to Americans who have felt for six interminable years that “things in the U.S. feel like they are out of control.”

The gatekeepers of the political narrative have overwhelmingly demonstrated their liberal bias by their puny coverage of the bad political news for Democrats this year.

The Media Research Center found that “when Democrats were feeling good about their election prospects eight years ago, CBS Evening NewsNBC Nightly News and ABC’s World News aired a combined 159 campaign stories (91 full reports and another 68 stories that mentioned the campaign). But during the same time period this year, those same newscasts have offered a paltry 25 stories (16 full reports and 9 mentions), a six-to-one disparity.”

The gates of mockery were opened on Sunday, October 19, 2014 when their messiah appeared at the Dr. Henry S. Wise High School in Prince Georges County, Maryland.

The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank noted:
“Democrats left nothing to chance for President Obama’s first campaign rally of the 2014 election season Sunday evening. They arranged for him to speak in Prince George’s County, Md., which went 90 percent for Obama in 2012. They put him in the gymnasium of a middle school that shared a campus with Barack Obama Elementary School, which explains the ‘We Rock at Barack’ sweatshirts in the crowd. Some 90 percent of those in the audience were African American—a demographic that still supports Obama to the tune of 84 percent, vs. 30 percent of white Americans.”
“The man Obama was stumping for—Maryland gubernatorial candidate Anthony Brown—has a healthy lead over his Republican opponent in reliably Democratic Maryland and therefore had little worry about sharing a stage with Obama. Even so, they left the presidential seal off the lectern, and Obama remained hidden offstage while Brown addressed the crowd.”
“Yet for all those precautions, Obama’s rare campaign appearance did not go as planned—and not only because a man heckled him for his refusal to block more deportations. With about five minutes to go in his 25-minute speech, about the time Obama said, ‘I’m just telling you what you already know,’ people began to trickle out. By the time he had finished, perhaps a few hundred had walked out on the president.”
Politico pool reporter Jennifer Epstein was dumbfounded:

Liberal-leaning editorial cartoonist, Jimmy Marguiles, drew a cartoon of The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer’s toxicity depicting him walking into the Oval Office with a character dressed in a full HAZMAT suit labeled “2014 Democratic Candidates” ushering him inside saying, “The quarantine is just through Election Day.”

Adding insult to injury, MSNBC’s Hardball host, Chris Matthews said, “It’s like Obama’s got Ebola.”

Over the past few weeks we’ve heard TWMDCO proclaim, “I’m not on the ballot this fall, but make no mistake; these policies are on the ballot.  Every single one of them.”

That’s a remarkably unhelpful statement that launched clumsy attempts by Alaska’s Sen. Mark Begich, and senatorial candidates Natalie Tennant (D-WV), Michelle Nunn (D-GA) and Alison Lundergan Grimes (D-KY) to flee like scalded dogs from the question of whether they voted for their messiah in 2008 and 2012.

So, what TWMDCO said rings true.  Poll after poll after poll shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans vehemently disagree with his policies believing he has been galactically incompetent and his administration scandal-ridden.  Democrats across the board have been in robotic lock-step.  That’s just what they do.  So like the numbskulls in the Geico horror commercial, they’ve made bad choices.  They can now be found in a garage crammed full of chainsaws hiding from the leader of their party.

Republicans have opposed him and that is what should carry the day on November 4th.

Ten Buck Friday: The Train Wreck's Arriving Right On Schedule

Graphic courtesy of Diogenes’ Middle Finger and modified with permission
Eleven days remain until Americans cast their ballots in the 2014 midterms.  Conservatives need to show up in record numbers if there is any chance to offset the stuffed ballots, rigged voting machines and illegal immigrants voting not only in early voting but on Election Day.

In 2010, voters gave the GOP historic victories and handed The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer a “shellacking” at the polls.  Most notable was the ouster of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and Scott Walker’s victory in Wisconsin.

While I am loathe to quote a Democrat, this one from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt sums up what Ten Buck Friday is all about:
“Nobody will ever deprive the American people of the right to vote except the American people themselves—and the only way they could do this is by not voting.”
When retiring Tom Harkin (D-IA) isn’t confident Democrats can hold the Senate the edge the GOP has in the polls seems promising, but the decades-long agenda of the political/judicial/bureaucratic Democrat infrastructure will continue to give elections to Democrats unless we fight them at the voting booth.

If control of the Senate can be wrested from the hands of Harry Reid, America may be able to secure enough breathing room to recover from the failed presidency of The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer.

If Americans are truly dissatisfied with the direction of the country they simply must turn out at the polls.  Not bothering to vote because you are disgusted by politics guarantees the continued entrenchment of corrupt Democrats.  Rest assured they are counting on you staying home.

Don’t kid yourself.  By staying home you are doubling the value of some diehard Democrat’s vote.  Is that what you want?

Get off your duff.  Talk with your friends, family, co-workers and scoop up five people on Election Day and go to the polls.  Stand guard over liberty and live in dignity.  We cannot afford to sit this election out.

“A Nation Of Sheep Will Beget A Government Of Wolves”

Regular readers of this blog may have noticed that blogging has been very light this week.  There’s a good reason for my absence.

I have been working at the local “Victory” office of North Carolina senatorial candidate Thom Tillis passing out bumper stickers, buttons and campaign yard signs, making phone calls and walking neighborhoods all in an effort to help him unseat incumbent Democrat Senator Kay Hagan.

North Carolina has 100 counties, of which 30 are blue.  I live in one of those blue counties.

On Wednesday, October 22nd, Thom made a campaign stop at Wingate University with Congressman Paul Ryan

Noting that circumstances are eerily similar to what the nation was facing in 1980—an energy crisis, rising gas prices, hostages being taken in the Middle East and Russia “going anywhere it wanted to go”—Tillis said that “Reagan created a vision of optimism and the emergence of America being great again.”

He said he is running because the students are owed the same opportunity to believe in America and the American Dream.

At one point Tillis referred to the debate on Tuesday night that Hagan did not participate in.  The “debate” featured an empty chair next to him.  Tillis said, “In fairness, I think it was her best performance yet.”

Early voting begins today in my state and I have been selected as a poll watcher. Judicial Watch discovered a scheme by Rev. Dr. William Barber to urge those attending the 71st Annual North Carolina NAACP Conference to “take unregistered voters to vote during the Early Voting period and to engage in get-out-the-vote activities on Election Day.”

NAACP’s leaders appear willing to risk the confusion and disenfranchisement of their own members in order to deceive a Court about common sense election integrity laws.

If the underhandedness of the North Carolina NAACP were not enough to cause alarm, The Winston-Salem Journal is reporting that 145 potential illegal voters appear on the State Board of Elections voting rolls.  Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) beneficiaries can obtain drivers licenses but are not legally permitted to vote.  SBOE believe more ineligible people may still remain on the voting rolls.

Jay DeLancy, Executive Director of the Voter Integrity Project wants to know how such a large number of non-U.S. citizens were ever registered to vote in the first place.”  Speaking to Watchdog. org DeLancy said, “There is clearly a system failure here and we need the Board of Elections and the DMV to help the Legislature and the public understand where the problem lies.”

My job as poll watcher will be to challenge any voter believed to be not qualified to vote in that precinct.  Judges will determine whether or not the challenge is valid.

Carolina Panthers Vs Green Bay Packers

The 3-2-1 Panthers face the 4-2 Packers at Lambeau Field today.  Kickoff is 1:00 PM ET on Fox.

Readers of this blog are accustomed to seeing the mascots of each team depicted in front of an image of the stadium where the game is being played.  This was not possible this week.  Why?  Green Bay doesn’t have cheerleaders and it doesn’t have a mascot.  With that in mind, I decided to show a bulldog donning the world-famous Cheesehead Hat® since the two teams are going to fight like cats and dogs.

My “Angry Kitties” lead the NFC South.  Green Bay is currently tied for first place with the Lions in the NFC North.

Ever since Packers QB Aaron Rodgers told fans to R-E-L-A-X, the team has won three straight games.  The Panthers are struggling on both sides of the ball.  All the experts say today’s game is crucial to the NFC playoff picture.

I have been a Packers fan since 1965 when they defeated Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts.  I have been a Packers fan since 1967 when they beat the Cowboys 21-17 in the legendary “Ice Bowl”.  I was cheering for Green Bay when Vince Lombardi was the team’s head coach and Bart Starr was their quarterback.

Today, I’m rooting for the Packers against my Angry Kitties.  The Panthers are celebrating their 20th year in the league.  The Packers have had my heart for 49 years.  I’m not a turncoat.  I’m not a traitor.  I am loyal and remember when football was played by honorable men.

GO PACKERS!

And because no football post is complete without pom-poms, here is a picture of Top Cat Samantha since Green Bay is too chilly for cheerleaders in skimpy outfits.

White House Has No Interest In Travel Ban Despite Calls From Congress

Nearly 100 lawmakers favor placing travel restrictions on persons infected with Ebola in order to decrease the odds of entering the U.S.

At least 80 members of the House and 20 members of the Senate have said they favor banning flights that could carry passengers coming out of West Africa or temporarily rescind the visas of residents of Ebola stricken nations.

Nearly every African nation has instituted travel bans on West African countries with significant outbreaks but The World’s Most Dangerous Community Organizer won’t budge.

This past Friday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said new “Ebola Czar” Ron Klain will report to former UN ambassador and current National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

As a reminder, Susan Rice is the woman who went on five Sunday talk shows to lie about a YouTube™ video being responsible for the 9/11 attack in Benghazi. She is also the same person who said alleged Army deserter and Taliban sympathizer Bowe Bergdahl served with honor and distinction.

Alabama Vs Texas A&M

I have missed the last two games Alabama has played.  The friend I was visiting while on a recent vacay abhors football.  Yours truly loves the game.  And when it comes to loving football, there is no greater love than that which The Crimson Tide imbues in me.

Today at 3:30 PM ET I will be “couch-gating” big time as my beloved Bama takes on the Texas A&M Aggies in Tuscaloosa at Bryant-Denny Stadium.  CBS will air the game.

The oddsmakers have Alabama as a 13.5-point favorite.

Ole Whistlebritches is full of it over at SB Nation.  Saying “Dark times have fallen upon the Alabama Crimson Tide, whether the faithful and the coaching staff will admit it or not,” is sacrilege to this devout fan.

The Aggies are coming off a 35-20 defeat to Ole Miss at home. Alabama traveled to Arkansas and got a 14-13 victory over the Hogs.  No matter what naysayer Ole Whistlebritches may say Ala-by-God-bama is still in the thick of the playoff race.

QB Blake Sims is looking strong under center and the Aggies don’t have a certain arrogant SOB at quarterback this year.  We’ve got TJ Yeldon and Derrick Henry at running back to form the most talented duo in the country.  Can you say “smashmouth”?

Roll Tide Roll!

And since no football post would be complete without a picture of pom-poms, feast your eyes upon these Bama lovelies.

Kay Hagan: If You Like Your Thief, You Can Keep Your Thief (UPDATED)

On Wednesday, October 7th, Don Carrington, Vice President of the John Locke Foundation, broke the news that North Carolina Democrat Senator Kay Hagan’s husband and son created a solar energy contracting company in August 2010, and then, using $250,644 in federal stimulus grant funds, her husband hired that same company to install solar panels at a building he owns.

The company’s original application stated the total project would cost $438,627, and said JDC would contribute “leveraged funds” amounting to $187,983, or 43 percent of the total. As the project reached completion, however, JDC revised the total budget downward by $114,519 and applied all the savings to its share, keeping all the taxpayer funding.

Public records show that Green State Power was formed seven weeks before JDC Manufacturing—a company owned in part by Greensboro attorney Charles “Chip” Hagan III, Sen. Hagan’s husband—received the stimulus grant for the solar project at a 300,000-square-foot facility in Reidsville, NC.

At a Monday press conference in Raleigh, North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Claude Pope announced that he has asked the U.S. Senate’s Select Committee on Ethics to investigate Hagan’s involvement with the stimulus grant.

News of Hagan’s payday, which she kept hidden away for years and is now lying about, was picked up by Forbes and Breitbart’s Big Government.

  • JDC Manufacturing LLC was set up originally as a plastics recycling company, but its latest filing lists its business as real estate ownership and management. The three managers are Kay Hagan’s husband Charles “Chip” Hagan and Chip’s brothers John and David.
  • Plastic Revolutions Inc. is a plastics recycling company that leases JDC’s building in Reidsville, which is where the stimulus-funded energy project was installed. John Hagan is the president and Chip Hagan is on its board.
  • Solardyne LLC is a solar design and installation company that filed its articles of incorporation Aug. 9, 2010—two days before JDC filed for the federal stimulus grant for which Solardyne performed work. Its 2011 annual report listed the managers as Chip Hagan and his son Tilden Hagan.
  • Green State Power is the current name of Solardyne. Chip Hagan filed the name change in May 2012 with the state’s Corporations Division.  A 2013 annual report lists as managers Chip Hagan, Tilden Hagan, and Will Stewart, Chip and Kay’s son-in-law.
When the conflict of interest first came to light that JDC Manufacturing received grants from the stimulus, Hagan’s campaign stressed that everything was above board and “disputed any suggestion they have profited off the law.”

Hagan had sought legal/ethical advice on the issue from Washington, DC-based attorney Marc Elias of the Perkins Coie law firm rather than going to the Senate Ethics Committee for a legal opinion.

According to Carrington, Hagan’s campaign spending report shows that, through the end of June 2014, over the current campaign cycle (spanning 2013 and 2014) her committee has paid the Perkins Coie firm $155,000.

I want to thank GrimmCreeper, a fellow North Carolinian, for the comment he posted today.  It was his observation that Hagan’s corruption had not sufficiently seen the light of day that prompted me to post this information.  It should be infuriating to the voters of the Tarheel State.

On November 4th, if you like your thief, you can keep your thief OR you can go to the polls and fire Kay Hagan and Harry Reid.

UPDATE 10-18-2014:  The Tillis campaign published the ad “Tucked Away” appearing in the embedded video below.  Once again, Joel Gehrke at National Review is helping to call out the Corruptocrat in what will likely be a devastating October Surprise.

Kay Hagan’s political future may depend on how voters react to the story. The Super PAC, Freedom Partners Action Fund, plans to spend at least $1 million to bring that message to TV screens across the Tar Heel state, starting next week.
